Literature contains numerous methods for assessing the effectiveness of protected area management, which are classified in seven categories. The methods differ primarily in the manner of data collection and the manner of implementing protection. This paper analyzes three methods (Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool, Rapid Assessment and Prioritization of Protected Area Management, and Protected Areas Benefit Assessment Tool), which we consider to practically applicable in the evaluation and assessment of protected area management in Serbia.
