Fifteen species of Late Permian bryozoans occur in a biohermal bank in the Mission Argillite of northeastern Washington. These include two species conspecific with species described from Japan and 13 new species, one of which is the type species of a new genus. The presence of two species, Dyscritella iwaizakiensis Sakagami, 1961, and Hayasakapora cf. erectoradiata Sakagami, 1960, previously reported from Japan, and the similarity of new species with those previously described from Japan, China and Russia supports the idea that these rocks were originally deposited in the southeastern or central western Pacific Ocean and subsequently accreted to the North American Plate.Bryozoans and previously reported fusulinids indicate that the biohermal bank is latest Wordian (Kazanian).Newly described bryozoans include the new genus and type species Sakagamiina easternensis belonging to the Timanodictyidae. Other new species are Fistuliramus pacificus, Meekoporella inflecta, Neoeridotrypella missionensis, Coeloclemis urhausenii, Tabulipora colvillensis, Rhombotrypella kettlensis, Pamirella oculus, Pinegopora petita, Wjatkella nanea, Alternifenestella vagrantia, Polypora arbusca, and Mackinneyella stylettia.

A new species belonging to the subfamily Macellicephalinae (Annelida: Polynoidae), Levensteiniella manusensis sp. nov., is described based on material collected from deep-sea hydrothermal vents in the Manus Back-Arc Basin. The new species is readily distinguished from the congeners by having two pairs of ventral papillae on segments 11 and 12, the first pair of which is distally dichotomous. Levensteiniella manusensis is also characterized by the combination of the notochaetae which are smooth or serrated on the curved side, and the elytra with micro- and macropapillae on the surface and thickened bulbous projections on the posterior border. Based on morphological comparisons of the main features, we provide two keys to six species of Levensteiniella described to date based on males and females respectively.

Pachylomidium, a new genus in the Pottiaceae, including the new species P. pacificum, is described from Guam. Two additional Asian species of Barbula are transferred. The special character of the Guam climate and the broad range of the genus in the Asian tropics and subtropics is discussed.

Two new species of alvinocaridid shrimps are described from a hydrothermal vent field off northeastern Taiwan at depths of 252–300 m. Alvinocaris chelys n. sp. is morphologically very similar to A. williamsi Shank & Martin, 2003 from the Mid-Atlantic Ridge, and A. alexander Ahyong, 2009 from the southern Kermadec Ridge. These three species can be differentiated by the shape of the postrostral ridge, telson, the second segment of the antennular peduncle and the armature of the meri and ischia of the third pereopod. The second new species, although rather similar to Alvinocaris niwa Webber, 2004 from the Kermadec-Arc, is assigned to a new genus Alvinocaridinides gen. nov., which appears to be intermediate between Shinkaicaris Komai & Segonzac, 2005 and other derived genera including Opaepele Williams & Dobbs, 1995, Chorocaris Martin & Hessler, 1990 and Rimicaris Williams & Rona, 1986. Alvinocaridinides formosa n. sp. differs from Alvinocaris niwa by completely lacking any armature on the ischia of the third to fifth pereopods and by bearing two movable spines at the posterolateral angle of the uropodal exopod. These records constitute the first discovery of the family Alvinocarididae in Taiwanese waters and represent the shallowest occurrence for alvinocaridid shrimps.

The scope of this paper concerns the species diversity of thecideide brachiopods living in the western Pacific equatorial region of Indonesia and the possibilities for circulation and dispersion of thecideide species along the coasts of Sulawesi and the Sea of Bali. The discovery of a new Thecidellina species, Thecidellina mawaliana sp. nov., adds a new genus to the Indonesian fauna. This species has a peculiar biogeography, different from those of Minutella cf. minuta (Cooper, 1981) and Ospreyella mutiara Simon & Hoffman, 2013, other thecideides living together with the new species. Unfortunately, attempts to collect molecular sequence information from the specimens failed due to insufficient DNA preservation. Probable speciation mechanisms in this genus are discussed.

Two new species ofMunidopsisfrom the hydrothermal vent area, Kairei Field, Central Indian Ridge in the Indian Ocean and Forecast Vent Field, Mariana Back Arc Basin in the west Pacific are described and illustrated. Their affinities to closely related species are discussed. The number ofMunidopsisspecies associated to hydrothermal vents in the world oceans has increased to 16. The habitat of new species is briefly described and the pattern of abundance of vent associatedMunidopsisis briefly discussed.
