The essays of primary school students were studied as a potential source of data about their creative capacities in the field of writing and, more extensively, in the domain of linguistic expression. Sixth and seventh grade students (N=142) wrote an essay the creativity of which was evaluated by three teachers. Based on teachers' evaluations, two extreme groups were formed, which were then mutually compared: the students who wrote creative stories (N=17) and those who did not (N=19). A mixed method approach was applied in analyzing the data about students and their essays. The quantitative research results indicate that the authors of creative stories are characterized by a considerably higher creative potential as measured by the Word Production Test and Urban-Jellen Drawing Test (TCT-DP), a better school achievement and greater knowledge in Serbian language, a wider range of interests and a more pronounced interest in language and humanities. Analysis of narratives of the two groups of stories reveals important differences between the creative and noncreative group in the format, themes and components of creative written expression. The following are perceived in the papers assessed as creative: good composition, existence of a title, a guiding idea, originality, emotional expressiveness and ethical dimension. In the concluding part the authors discuss the advantages of combining the quantitative and qualitative procedures in studying the creative potential in school context.

Primary school students are in a period of continued growth and development after the pre-school age period. However several studies have shown that children at this age are vulnerable to under- and over-nutrition, which can interfere in their learning process and school achievement. The objective of this activity was to develop a nutrition education module for primary school students aged 8-12 years. This activity was held on January – August 2018 into Primary Schools of Bogor. The steps of this activity included: 1) to establish of technical working group (TWG); 2) to review existing nutrition education for primary school students; and 3) to develop student module and workbook (SMW) for nutrition education. The TWG which were formed, consists of school principles, nutrition professional society (Food and Nutrition Society of Indonesia), university staffs (Bogor Agricultural University and SAHID University Jakarta), and local government (Bogor Education Office). This activity was done collaboration with SEA-PHN. Currently, there is no activity on nutrition education at these schools, neither teacher guide for nutrition education for primary school students. The TWG developed nine topics of SMW were developed, namely balance diet and my plate, active and healthy life, cereals, fruit and vegetable, protein food, limit sugar salt and fat, choosing safe and nutritious food, food label, and summary. The SMW was designed colorfully and interestingly. Prior to final version of SMW, it was assessed to be used by school children. In conclusion, the SMW could be used to educate primary school students on nutrition.

Schools promote all-round education for each of their students. This requires teachers to work on all of the possibilities offered by a subject, including mathematical ability. This process of adjustment and individualization is essential for students who have excellent performance or aptitudes. This study uses an ex post facto, descriptive and quantitative research methodology to examine the results of giving the online version of the Evaluation Battery for Mathematical Ability (BECOMA On) to 3795 5th-year primary school students. The sample was selected from 147 Spanish schools from 16 autonomous regions and 2 autonomous municipalities. Three levels of performance were identified, 3 being the highest, and different statistical indices were calculated for each of them. The results were also analyzed according to sex, with statistically significant differences in the highest performance level. In addition, the study highlighted a diagnostic gap in the identification of higher capacity students, a pending challenge for education systems for the educational inclusion of all students.

As an effort to achieve the developmental tasks of primary school age children, they are expected to obtain the basics of knowledge that are considered important to successfully adapt to adult life, and learn various important skills. However, there were several aspects that inhibit the achievement of the developmental tasks, for instance, off-task behavior, in which students disengaged from the learning environment by performing unrelated behavior. The occurrence of off-task behavior phenomena in primary school students needs to be addressed. Therefore, this research aims at investigating the profile of off-task behavior in primary school students. This quantitative research was conducted using the instruments of off-task behavior. This research involved 25 fifth grade primary school students in one private primary school in South Jakarta. The research results revealed that there were 60% of the students who were categorized performing moderate rate of off-task behavior with motoric aspect was the highest rare (38.7%).

This paper looks at Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) in the primary school setting and the problems, possibilities, and potential associated with this context. CALL normalisation is a key feature of successful CALL usage. This paper looks at CALL normalisation in the primary school context through three different lenses: Leakey’s (2011) 3P’s, Bax’s (2003) CALL normalisation, and Chambers and Bax’s (2006) CALL normalisation. The paper provides an overview of the use of a CALL resource for primary school students over a period of three years, with students ranging in age from seven to 12, both boys and girls with a number of different teachers across two different schools. It finishes up with some reflections and tips for others looking to work in this particular area.

Blogs have been widely used in education for the numerous benefits the tool offers. Previous research has examined the use of blogs in various educational settings, but very few studies have been carried out at the primary level. This chapter provided an understanding of students' motivations to use blogs in a primary school context. A case study approach was adopted and data were collected through online reflections, supported by and triangulated with data from face-to-face interviews. Findings surfaced several reasons that motivated students to blog, and students' motivations to blog seemed to suggest that the students were subconsciously meeting one or more psychological needs, namely belonging, competence, freedom, and fun, and the need for competence was the most prevalent amongst students in this study. This study also provides teachers in the school some insights into what motivated their students to use blogs when they design instructional activities in the future.

Various approaches to the definition of the concept of «creative potential» are considered. The article presents the results of a study of the creative potential of primary school students in the classroom for creating animated animation. It is suggested that the inclusion of classes on creating animated animation in the educational process contributes to the formation of the creative potential of students. The results of an experimental study conducted with two groups of students in grades 2-3, 104 people, using a set of methods (the creativity questionnaire of J. Renzuli, the questionnaire for assessing the level of school motivation of N. G. Luskanova, the questionnaire of G. Davis, The Creativity Assessment Packet (CAP) of F. Williams), suggested that animated animation is a promising direction in the process of forming the creative potential of primary school students.
