Introduction. Surgery complications during and after ureteroscopic procedures are rare, mostly temporary and require no special additional procedures. However, major complications, nevertheless their small incidence (less than 1?2%), can be very serious and they include ureter perforation and avulsion. Case report. We represented a patient with complicated ureter iatrogenic stenosis developed after ureteroscopic procedure of stone removal. After several hospitalizations, septic condition with retroperitoneal abscess and an attempt of endoscopic and open surgical solution, the kidney auto-transplantation was successfully done. Conclusion. There are a small number of complications with ureteroscopic procedures, but when ureter avulsion or perforation occurs, and when the mission is to preserve pair organs, kidney auto-transplantation has the advantage over other methods of ureter reconstruction.

Dental trauma is very common, especially in children and adolescents. Tooth avulsion (exarticulation), which is a result of complete rupture of periodontal ligaments is one of the most severe dental injuries. The treatment of choice in avulsion of permanent teeth is reimplantation. Survival of reimplanted teeth depends greatly on the time and conditions in which teeth were stored outside the oral cavity. This report presents a case of 18-year old male with avulsion of central maxillary incisors. The teeth were reimplanted 14 hours after injury. During 8-year follow up no major complications occurred and the teeth still maintain their function, although signs of mild replacement resorption are visible on the follow-up radiographs.

A sinus between the colon and a retroperitoneal abscess is a rare entity that usually occurs as a complication of a primary condition such as Crohn's disease, radiation enteritis, or diverticular disease. Herein, we report a 72-year-old woman with a retroperitoneal abscess and a sinus formation between the abscess and the colon after an iatrogenic injury to her left colon. The retroperitoneal abscess was detected 1 week after the patient had undergone a left nephroureterectomy for recurrent ureteral cancer. The patient's general performance status allowed conservative management with antibiotics and percutaneous drainage. The abscess resolved, and the sinus closed after 3 weeks of treatment. In the absence of surgical pathology in the colon, and if the patient's general condition is good enough to tolerate conservative management, treatment using antibiotics plus percutaneous drainage is effective for cases of retroperitoneal abscess with a sinus between the colon and abscess.

A one-year-old entire male Caucasian Mountain Dog underwent tibial plateau levelling osteotomy. During surgery the tibialis cranialis artery and vein were inadvertently severed and blood loss reached 20 per cent in 30 minutes. Blood from the surgical field was collected and an autotransfusion was performed using a novel ultrafiltration device (Hemosep, Advancis Surgical) without major complications. This case report describes the use the Hemosepand discusses the different techniques available for autotransfusion. To the authors’ knowledge, this is the first case report of autotransfusion using an ultrafiltration device to control acute haemorrhage in veterinary medicine.
