Introduction. Hamartomas of the bile duct (von Meyenburg complex) are benign lesions of the liver that may mimic liver metastases. Histologically, they consist of cystic dilatations of the bile duct, encompassed by fibrous stroma. Case report. We reported a 68-year-old male patient in who gross, ultrasonic and MSCT appearance suggest multiple liver metastases. The diagnosis of von Meyenburg complex was made after histopathologic examination of liver biopsy. Conclusion. Von Meyenburg complex in an uncommon entity which should be taken into consideration as a differential diagnosis of liver metastases.

Seborrheic keratosis is a benign tumour of skin, a common hyperkeratotic lesion of the epidermis, that usually occurs in the trunk and less frequently in the extremities, face and the scalp. A 65-year old farmer presented with a long standing, slowly growing, firm, redbrown, polypoidal mass about 2×2.5 cm in size, located at the skin mucosa interfare of the tip of nose. The lesion was excised under general anesthesia and histopathologic examination showed seborrheic keratosis. Diagnosis is made on the basis of clinical & histopathological examination. Here, we discuss the clinical presentation, differential diagnosis, pathological diagnosis and management of such a case. There was no recurrence during a year follow-up.Bangladesh J Otorhinolaryngol; October 2015; 21(2): 119-121

Scalp and calvarial masses are common in children and the differential diagnosis is broad. The authors recently cared for a child with an unusual fibro-osseous lesion of the temporal bone that has previously not been described in the pediatric neurosurgery literature. A 10-year-old girl presented with a firm, slowly enlarging protuberant mass arising from the squamous suture of the temporal bone without intracranial extension. The mass was removed en bloc through a temporal craniectomy and cranioplasty was performed. The patient had a smooth postoperative course. Histological examination showed multiple oval osseous islands dispersed throughout a bland fibrous stroma. The pathological diagnosis was “Bullough’s bump,” a rare, benign fibro-osseous neoplasm first described in 1999, and only 8 reported cases appear in the literature. Here the authors report the first case of Bullough’s bump in a child.

Solitary fibrous tumours are infrequent neoplasms based in the pleura that are predominantly benign with malignant pathology and behaviour described in 10–36% of cases. Extrathoracic solitary fibrous tumours (ESFTs) have been considered separately to their intrathoracic counterparts and comprise a third of all solitary fibrous tumours. The extrathoracic location was identified as an adverse prognostic factor for local recurrence but not for metastatic disease. So far, there have not been any reports of solitary fibrous tumours demonstrating caval infiltration. We present a case of a benign ESFT infiltrating into the perirenal inferior vena cava. Together with extrauterine leiomyomas, ESFTs should also be considered as a differential diagnosis for the rare benign lesions invading the inferior vena cava.
