Background. The usual way of dissemination of an uveal malignant melanoma comprises hematogenous metastases to various organs, liver in the first place. Uncommon development of the disease is always possible, while unusual ways of dissemination and secondary deposits in the unexpected sites have been observed. We presented an unusual case of a patient with uveal melanoma metastatic to the contralateral eyelid with very fast further dissemination in the manner typical for primary malignancies. Case report. This observational case report included a 70-year-old male, enucleated for uveal melanoma in his left eye, appeared again 2.5 years later with a fast growing contralateral eyelid metastasis, followed by submandibular lymph node involvement on the same side and further systemic dissemination. Conclusion. The firts revealed solitary contralateral eyelid metastasis of uveal melanoma is extremely rare, such as an uncommon secondary deposit with a strange way of further dissemination.

Background: Malignant melanoma of uveal tract is a rare ocular malignancy. It is one of the significant causes of ocular morbidity and mortality which is less commonly seen in children. Case: We report an unusual case of orbital recurrence of malignant melanoma in a 14-yearold boy who had previously undergone enucleation of the left painful blind eye 8 months ago. He was diagnosed to have uveal malignant melanoma elsewhere which was confirmed by histopathology. Orbital recurrence was managed with modified exenteration with adjuvant chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Conclusion: In all treated cases of uveal melanoma, close follow up examination and monitoring is necessary for early diagnosis of the recurrence and to plan for further management. e20009 Background: Although the incidence of malignant melanoma is high, the incidence of metaplastic malignant melanoma is low. Within the various subtypes of malignant metaplastic melanoma, the manifestation of osteogenic melanoma remains a rarer event. Current review of the literature reveals only 12 reported cases. Of these reported cases, scant discussion is made on treatment whereas the histopathology is discussed in great detail. Methods: We present the case of a 64 year old Caucasian man that was diagnosed with synchronous tumors of the foot and lung. Initial biopsy of the foot revealed metastatic osteogenic melanoma. As a result of the initial biopsy results and imaging, the patient underwent a right lower lobe resection and lymph node dissection followed by a left lower extremity Pirigoff’s amputation and inguinal lymph node dissection. Results: Immunohistochemical staining of the extirpated tissue from the lung revealed strong reactivity to S100, vimentin, Sox10, diffuse reactivity to low molecular weight cytokeratin and HMB-45/MART-1 and no lymph node involvement. Whereas the IHC of the extirpated tissue of the left foot remained consistent with the initial biopsy of strong reactivity to S100 and MART-1 and negative to pancytokeratins, CD34, Desmin, and SMA. Conclusions: Given the features of the patient’s pathology and resected metastatic disease, he was administered adjuvant alpha interferon therapy.
