An unsteady, two-dimensional, hydromagnetic, laminar mixed convective boundary layer flow of an incompressible and electrically-conducting fluid along an infinite vertical plate embedded in the porous medium with heat and mass transfer is analyzed, by taking into account the effect of viscous dissipation. The dimensionless governing equations for this investigation are solved analytically using two-term harmonic and non-harmonic functions. Numerical evaluation of the analytical results is performed and graphical results for velocity, temperature and concentration profiles within the boundary layer are discussed. The results show that increased cooling (Gr > 0) of the plate and the Eckert number leads to a rise in the velocity profile. Also, an increase in Eckert number leads to an increase in the temperature. Effects of Sc on velocity and concentration are discussed and shown graphically.

An unsteady, two-dimensional, hydromagnetic, laminar free convective boundary-layer flow of an incompressible, Newtonian, electrically-conducting and radiating fluid past an infinite heated vertical porous plate with heat and mass transfer is analyzed, by taking into account the effect of viscous dissipation. The dimensionless governing equations for this investigation are solved analytically using two-term harmonic and non-harmonic functions. Numerical evaluation of the analytical results is performed and graphical results for velocity, temperature and concentration profiles within the boundary layer and tabulated results for the skin-friction coefficient, Nusselt number and Sherwood number are presented and discussed. It is observed that, when the radiation parameter increases, the velocity and temperature decrease in the boundary layer, whereas when thermal and solutal Grashof increases the velocity increases.

An analytical study is performed to explore the flow and heat transfer characteristics of nanofluid (Al2O3-water and TiO3-water) over a linearly stretching porous sheet in the presence of radiation, ohmic heating, and viscous dissipation. Homotopy perturbed method is used and complete solution is presented, the results for the nanofluids velocity and temperature are obtained. The effects of various thermophysical parameters on the boundary-layer flow characteristics are displayed graphically and discussed quantitatively. The effect of viscous dissipation on the thermal boundary-layer is seen to be reverse after a fixed distance from the wall, which is very strange in nature and is the result of a reverse flow. The finding of this paper is unique and may be useful for future research on nanofluid.

A parametric study to investigate the effect of chemical reaction parameter on an MHD mixed convective mass transfer flow of an incompressible viscous electrically conducting fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate. The equations of motion are work out by assuming Laplace Transform approach. The velocity profile, temperature, concentration, viscous drag, Nusselt number and the rate of mass transfer are discussed graphically by assuming some arbitrary criterion given in the present paper and physical descriptions are made. It is emphasized from the graphical portion that chemical species retards the fluid flow

Unsteady hydromagnetic free convective flow of a viscous, incompressible, electrically conducting, and heat radiating fluid past a flat plate with ramped wall temperature and suction/blowing is studied. The governing equations are first subjected to Laplace transformation and then inverted numerically usingINVLAProutine of Matlab. The numerical solutions of the fluid properties are presented graphically while the skin friction and heat and mass transfer coefficients are presented in tabular form. The results are verified by a careful comparison with results in the literature for certain parameter values.

We study an unsteady MHD free convection heat and mass transfer boundary layer incompressible fluid flow past a vertical porous plate in the presence of viscous dissipation, heat generation/absorption, chemical reaction, and Arrhenius activation energy. The plate is moving with uniform velocity. The chemical reaction rate in the function of temperature is also considered. The governing partial differential equations are reduced to ordinary differential equations by introducing local similarity transformation (Maleque (2010)) and then are solved numerically by shooting method using the Nachtsheim-Swigert iteration technique. The results of the numerical solution are then presented graphically as well as the tabular form for difference values of the various parameters.

An analysis of free convection and mass transfer unsteady magnetohydrodynamic flow of an electrically conducting viscous incompressible fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate is presented by taking into account the Dufour and Soret effects. With a goal to attain similarity solutions of the problem posed, similarity equations are derived by introducing a time dependent length scale. The non-linear similarity equations, which are locally similar, are solved numerically using shooting method. Dimensionless velocity, temperature and concentration profiles are displayed graphically for different values of the parameters entering into the problem. Finally, the corresponding local skin-friction, local Nusselt number and local Sherwood number, which are of physical interest are tabulated.
