The critical parameters of silica refractories, such as compressive strength, bulk, density, quantity of silica, microstructure and porosity were evaluated of unused and used bricks to line the crowns of glass furnaces, when the rate of corrosion of crowns were about 2 times greater. The change of these parameters, the chemical composition and formation of the microcracks in the used silica refractories material were studied. It was established that the short time at service of container glass furnace crown can be related to low quality of silica brick: high quantity of CaO and impurities, low quantity of silica, low quantity of silica, transferred to tridymite and cristobalite and formation of 5-10 ?m and more than 100 ?m cracks in the crown material. The main reason of corrosion high quality silica bricks used to line the crown of electrovacuum glass furnace is the multiple cyclic change of crown temperature at 1405 - 1430?C range in the initial zone of crown and at 1575 - 1605?C range in the zone of highest temperatures.

One of the major challenges of ANLP research is the constant balancing act between the need for large samples, and the excessive time and monetary resources necessary for acquiring those samples. Amazon’s Mechanical Turk (MTurk) is a web-based data collection tool that has become a premier resource for researchers who are interested in optimizing their sample sizes and minimizing costs. Due to its supportive infrastructure, diverse participant pool, quality of data, and time and cost efficiency, MTurk seems particularly suitable for ANLP researchers who are interested in gathering large, high quality corpora in relatively short time frames. In this chapter, the authors first provide a broad description of the MTurk interface. Next, they describe the steps for acquiring IRB approval of MTurk experiments, designing experiments using the MTurk dashboard, and managing data. Finally, the chapter concludes by discussing the potential benefits and limitations of using MTurk for ANLP experimentation.

Gold plate is of such rare occurrence that I have thought it would be agreeable to the Society to see the very handsome example that the Duke of Portland has been good enough to send up at my request from Welbeck for exhibition. (Plate LXIV.) The metal is evidently of high quality, and the form is by no means inelegant for the period at which it was made. The bowl is beaten into a shell-like form, with elaborate projecting scroll-work enamelled and set with jewels, and having at the back a figure of Pan with Cupid seated astride of his neck all modelled in the round; the stem is formed of a pair of lovers embracing, and the foot is of a lozenge form made up of a number of enamelled scrolls alternating with jewelled bands. The whole of the work is of the most minute finish, not only as regards the chasing and engraving of the gold, but the figures that form so important a feature of the design are modelled with unusual vigour and artistic perfection, and there can be no reasonable doubt that they are the work of a master. I have not, however, been able to trace the artist during the short time the cup has been in my custody. The enamelled work is of interest in the history of the craft, for it well illustrates the transition from the method that characterised the jewellery of the sixteenth century to that prevalent in the seventeenth. The former is commonly found during the last three quarters of the sixteenth century, and consists in cutting away the ground of the design down to a certain depth, and the engraved portions are then filled in with enamel, leaving the design itself in the metal. This style of work required great dexterity on the part of the engraver, for the dividing lines of gold were often of great thinness, and the slightest deviation of the graver would instantly catch the eye and destroy the quality of the work. This class of enamelled decoration for jewellery was succeeded in the seventeenth century by another of a similar effect, but not requiring anything like the same care.

The composition and content of fluid inclusions in the main structural and technological types of vein quartz of the Fenkina-Lampi deposit were studied by gas chromatography. It is shown that H2O dominates (90–99%) in the gases composition released from quartz under heating to 1000°C, CO2, CO, N2 and hydrocarbon compounds contents are much less. Quartz is characterized by high gassing in the high-temperature region (600–1000°C) comparable to gassing in the low-temperature interval (100–600°C), which is a negative indicator of the quality of quartz as a raw material for high-quality glass melting. It is necessary to develop a special purification technology for this quartz, which will take into account the features of its saturation with gas-liquid inclusions.

Free-cutting steel gains specific working properties thanks to the high content of sulfur and phosphorus. These elements, especially sulfur, have a rather high tendency to segregation. Therefore, segregation defects in free-cutting steel continuously cast billets can be significantly developed. The aim of the work was to study the influence of the chemical composition of freecutting steel and casting technological parameters on the quality of the macrostructure of continuously cast billets. A metallographic assessment of the internal structure of cast metal made of free-cutting steel and data processing by application of correlation and regression analysis were the research methods. The array of production data of 43 heats of free-cutting steel of grade A12 was studied. Steel casting on a five-strand radial type continuous casting machine was carried out by various methods of metal pouring from tundish into the molds. Metal of 19 heats was poured with an open stream, and 24 heats – by a closed stream through submerged nozzles with a vertical hole. High-quality billets had a cross-sectional size of 150×150 mm. The macrostructure of high-quality square billets made of free-cutting steel of A12 grade is characterized by the presence of central porosity, axial segregation and peripheral point contamination, the degree of development of which was in the range from 1.5 to 2.0 points, segregation cracks and strips – about 1.0 points. In the course of casting with an open stream, almost all of these defects are more developed comparing with the casting by a closed stream. As a result of correlation and regression analysis, linear dependences of the development degree of segregation cracks and strips both axial and angular on the sulfur content in steel and on the ratio of manganese content to sulfur content were established. The degree of these defects development increases with growing of sulfur content in steel of A12 grade. These defects had especially strong development when sulfur content in steel was of more than 0.10%. To improve the quality of cast metal, it is necessary to have the ratio of the manganese content to the sulfur content in the metal more than eight.

The experience of clinical testing of the personal telemedicine system ‘Obereg’ for remote monitoring of patients at the intensive care units of leading Russian clinics is described. The high quality of communication with the remote receiving devices of doctors, the accuracy of measurements, resistance to interference from various hospital equipment and the absence of its own impact on such equipment were confirmed. There are significant advantages compared to stationary patient monitors, in particular, for intra and out-of-hospital transportation of patients.

Magazine is one of the forms of mass media that has fungsikomunikasi to convey information to mass audiences. The cover is an important element because it is through cover / cover one can guess the contents of the magazine, as well as further interested to know further information contained therein. On a magazine cover consists of drawings and writings are arranged in such a way that looks interesting and has meaning Press publications, especially magazines, today's not enough just to rely on the quality of news or manuscript, although verbal aspect is very important. It must be recognized that the visual aspects (design) as the cover / envelope has crucial role to capture the prospective reader. For the cover of a magazine is a window that shows the content information, can be either a text or photographs, illustrations, and design elements. The function of a magazine cover is to attract, dazzle prospective readers, by way influence the thoughts flow in a short time. So it's no wonder much current the magazine publisher who made the cover of such a way as to attract the attention of prospective readers. Thus the task of designers to magazine cover to create designs that attract the attention of the reader becomes increasingly severe. This study tries to analyze a visual on the front cover Magazine Graphic Design 'Concept' birthday inaugural edition by using the Roland Barthes' semiotic approach. As Roland Barthes (1984), any simple "design work (magazine cover)" continue to play in management of the sign. So that will generate a message (image) specific. Design cover, usually contains the elements of the sign in the form of objects, context of the environment, people or other beings who provide meaning to objects, and text (of writing) that reinforce the meaning.Keyword: cover, magazine Concept, semiotics

The transthoracic echocardiography made by multifrequency probes with support of the mode of the second harmonic imaging, is a competitive method for visualization of the main coronary arteries and allows to estimate coronary blood flow with high quality. Of course, the method has considerable restrictions, most important of which is the low spatial resolution of a method, due to small acoustic window. Because of this the transthoracic visualization of coronary arteries perhaps will not become the leading method of anatomic reconstruction of separately taken coronary artery and especially all coronary arteries system. However uniqueness and indisputable advantage of this method is an opportunity to noninvasively estimate a coronary blood flow both once, and in dynamics.
