The Bray-Liebhafsky (BL) oscillatory reaction generated in the batch reactor at 62- 68 oC was perturbed by cobalt(II)-nitrate, supported on the macroreticular copolymer of poly-4-vinylpyridine with divinylbenzene (Co-PVPDVB). The kinetic data was analyzed of the complex pathways of the hydrogen peroxide decomposition in the examined BL reaction. The obtained results confirm that the kinetics of the BL reaction in the presence Co-PVPDVB comes partially from the Co-catalyst and partially from the macroreticular copolymer support.

A mathematical model of kinetics of fungal catalase inhibition with hydroxylamine in presence of substrate (hydrogen peroxide) has been developed. The scheme includes an intermediate formation and slow reversible native enzyme production. The model is based on differential equations of nonstationary kinetics of the enzyme action. The computer simulation was carried out using adaptive Runge-Kuta method. Good satisfactory is achieved if the kinetic constants calculated by modeling nonstationary state of hydrogen peroxide decomposition are used for calculations of inhibition of the catalases at the second phase of inhibition and for kinetics of the intermediate formation, that was determined with stop-flow spectrophotometer.

Some ferrospinels act as catalysts for the decomposition of H2O2, their effectiveness is dependent on the composition of the catalyst. This study is to find the most effective catalyst of stoichiometry MIIFe2IIIO4. A set of ferrites of different composition MIIFe2II04 (MII = Mn, Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd) was synthesized by co-precipitation and characterized by chemical analysis, X-ray diffractometry, and B.E.T. technique. A comparative assessment of the catalytic power of these ferrites from investigations of their influence on the kinetics of H2O2 decomposition in a neutral medium was made. An analysis of the data on specific rate, and the Eyrings activation parameters for the reaction sharply reveal the following: (a) The catalytic power follows the order MnFe2O4 > CoFe2O4 > CuFe2O4 > NiFe2O4 > CdFe2O4 > ZnFe2O4, MnFe2O4 is much more highly effective than the others (50–100 fold). (b) A compensation effect has been noted from the observed linearity with slightly less than unity slope between TΔ≠S0 and Δ≠H0 over the entire series. AbstractA novel method for the production of singlet oxygen from H2O2 was developed. A combination of iodoarene (ArI), methyltrioxorhenium (MTO), and H2O2 in the presence of pyridine as the co-catalyst efficiently produced singlet molecular oxygen (1O2) under biphasic conditions. The existence of 1O2 was demonstrated by trapping experiments with aromatic dienes, 1,3-cyclodienes, and alkenes. The mechanism of 1O2 production from the iodoarene/MTO/35 % H2O2 system and the reaction scope was also discussed.
