The Masses

It is now clear that the masses of the neutrino sector are much lighter than those of the other three sectors. Canonial seesaw model would be the most famous for the above explanation. But one must introduce heavy particles that will not be able to observed with present scientific technologies. On the other hand, there are many attempts to explain the neutrino masses radiatively by means of inert Higgses, which do not have the vacuum expectation values. Then one can discuss cold dark matter candidates, because of no needing so heavy particles. The most famous work would be the Zee model17. Recently a new type model (hep-ph/0601225)4 along this line of thought was proposed by E. Ma. We adopted this idea, and then we introduced a new flavor symmetry to constrain the Yukawa sector. So our model might be more predictive, and can be investigated at LHC. I will present how we can obserb the particular signal at LHC, and what we can predict about the neutrino sector.

Abstract In the context of $$SU(3)_C \times SU(2)_L \times U(1)_Y \times U(1)_\chi $$SU(3)C×SU(2)L×U(1)Y×U(1)χ, where $$U(1)_\chi $$U(1)χ comes from $$SO(10) \rightarrow SU(5) \times U(1)_\chi $$SO(10)→SU(5)×U(1)χ, supplemented by the non-Abelian discrete $$\Delta (27)$$Δ(27) symmetry for three lepton families, Dirac neutrino masses and their mixing are radiatively generated through dark matter. The gauge $$U(1)_\chi $$U(1)χ symmetry is broken spontaneously. The discrete $$\Delta (27)$$Δ(27) symmetry is broken softly and spontaneously. Together, they result in two residual symmetries, a global $$U(1)_L$$U(1)L lepton number and a dark symmetry, which may be $$Z_2$$Z2, $$Z_3$$Z3, or $$U(1)_D$$U(1)D depending on what scalar breaks $$U(1)_\chi $$U(1)χ. Cobimaximal neutrino mixing, i.e. $$\theta _{13} \ne 0$$θ13≠0, $$\theta _{23} = \pi /4$$θ23=π/4, and $$\delta _{CP} = \pm \pi /2$$δCP=±π/2, may also be obtained.

A model for the 17 keV Dirac neutrino is considered in the framework of the SU(2) × U(1) theory. No right-handed neutrinos are introduced. The Dirac mass for the neutrino arises from the Le+Lτ–Lμ invariant couplings of the left-handed neutrinos to an SU(2) triplet. An SU(2) singlet field is introduced to suppress the Majoron coupling to the Z. This makes the model consistent with the LEP results on the invisible Z width. The singlet vacuum expectation value ω is constrained to be ≤O(80 MeV) from cosmological considerations. For, ω≈80 MeV, the 17 keV neutrino is shown to provide the bulk of the dark matter.
