This study aimed to determine whether the adjustment levels of university students differ according to their perceived communication skill levels. The research was carried out with 277 Turkish university students. Data were collected through The Communication Skills Assessment Scale (Korkut, 1996) and the Hacettepe Personality Inventory (Özgüven, 1992). The findings of the study revealed that personal, social, and general adjustment levels were significantly related to perceived communication skill levels. Students who have high perceived communication skill levels had significantly higher personal, social, and general adjustment levels. Results are discussed in relation to their implications for effective communication skills of university students.

The ancient Indian Vedic text places emphasis on balanced living through a conscious strive to evolve from lower states of being to higher ones thus providing physical, spiritual and psychological wellbeing. Similarly the western thought places emphasis on working on physical and psychological well being for humans to flourish and realise their infinite potential.  Hence, the present investigation is an attempt to draw a concomitance between Indian and Western Psychology on the topic of psychological well being and how wisdom and satvikta are related to this concept. For the purpose of this study a sample of 100 university students (50 males and 50 females) between the ages of 18-24 years were selected. Three scales namely- (i) PWAS (Practicing Wisdom Assessment Scale) (ii) Trigunatmak Personality Inventory, and (iii) Ryff’s Psychological Well Being were used.  Regression analyses was done. The results indicated that Sattva Guna significantly predicts PWB and Wisdom.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the predictive value of gender, attachment dimensions and family environment in explaining loneliness among students. The study included 473 students (281 females, 192 males) from Ankara University. The UCLA Loneliness Scale, Family Environment Assessment Scale and Experiences in Close Relationships — Revised Questionnaire were administered to all participants. The results of the regression analyses demonstrated that the avoidance dimension of attachment accounted for 11%, avoidance and anxiety 14%, all attachment dimensions and family environment 18%, and all variables together (attachment dimensions, family environment, gender) accounted for 19% of variance in loneliness. The present study demonstrated that insecurely attached males with low-coherent families reported the highest degree of loneliness. On the contrary, securely attached females with high-coherent families reported the lowest degree of loneliness.

The main purpose of this study was to investigate communication skills of students studying at different departments at a state university. The survey model was used in the study. The data were collected by the Effective Communication Skills Scale developed by Buluş et al., (2017).The sample of the study consists of 277 university students studying in different departments.  According to the results of the research; it was found that there was a significant difference between gender variable and active participative listening and empathy subscale. Moreover, it was seen that this difference was in favor of women in both sub-scales. Considering the differences in terms of groups, it was found that the difference was determined among the departments of coaching, art, music and Teaching Physical Education and Sports, which was in favor of the department of coaching. In the literature, the communication skills could be higher in departments of art, music and Teaching Physical Education and Sports. The results obtained in the current study were contradictory to the above mentioned statement. It can be concluded that during the coaching practices, the coaches interact with sportsmen and other individuals as well as the courses they take during their education are the reasons why they have high communication skills than other departments.

A simple random sampling technique was used to select 684 respondents. Data was collected using pretested and self-administered questionnaire. Collected data was entered into Epi Info version 7.1.2.0 and exported to SPSS version 25.0 for analysis. Bivariate analysis was used primarily and variables with p-value ≤ 0.2 were further examined using multivariable logistic regression model to control con-founders. Then, variables having p-value less than 0.05 with 95% CI were used to determine associated factors. Results: - Out of 678 study participants, 403 (61.4%) of them had effective communication skills with 96.8 % of the response rate. Less than 5 years of working experience [AOR=2.77; 95% CI: (1.28, 5.99)], workload [AOR=1.52; 95% CI: (1.09, 2.12)], and poor evidence-based utilization [AOR=2.00; 95% CI: (1.40, 2.85)] were associated with the nurse’s effective communication skill to patients.
