In the Indonesian context, we did not find any previous study on internet cafes that discussed the transformation from warnet to internet cafe. Based on our study in Yogyakarta, we found a new internet cafe style that we did not find in other cities. This study offers a new understanding of analyzing internet cafes that users not only consume a computer to access the internet, but they “consume” space as well. This study aims to explore that transformation and to reveal the expansion of consumption patterns. This study emphasizes the empirical investigation to gather the data. We conducted qualitative in-depth interviews and observations from January to June 2018. We also examined several previous studies about internet cafes to expose a gap that can be extended in this study. Based on findings, we found that the transformation from warnet was a way to survive amid mobile technology. This transformation gives an implication to the new means of consumption. However, the expansion of consumption patterns can be explored from the consumption of space and digital content. Overall, digital content is the new insight to understand that internet cafes are not only a place to copy contents, but this can be seen as a symbol of empowerment to local users. Therefore, internet cafes can be seen as media-industry bottom lines to promote a culture of resistance to digital content without going to the store or going to the cinema.

BACKGROUND Due to the religious proscription, it was found that Arab youths acquire information and view pornography secretly. The internet exposes them to contents that contradict religious and cultural taboos. There are few studies about viewing habits of sexual contents among Arab adolescents and about the way they discuss sexuality. OBJECTIVE to characterize the barriers and difficulties that prevent sexual discourse in Arab society and enable pornography viewing, according to the perceptions of adolescents and mothers. METHODS phenomological qualitative research methods, in-depth interviews with 40 participants. 20 Arab adolescents, sampled by two age groups: 14-16 and 16-18. In addition, 20 mothers of adolescents from both sexes were interviewed. RESULTS The findings indicate that mothers “turn a blind eye” to porn viewing and sexual activity by boys, versus a sweeping prohibition and denial of such behavior by girls. The boys reported viewing porn routinely, whereas girls denied doing so, but admitted that their girlfriends watched porn. The study also found that the boys have guilt feelings during and after the viewing as a result of the clash between modernity and traditional values. CONCLUSIONS It is necessary to find a way to encourage a significant sexual discourse to prevent the violent consequences of its absence in Arab society. A controlled, transparent and critical sexual discourse could help youth make more informed decisions concerning the search for sexual contents, porn viewing and sexual behavior.

The battle between the recording industry and those illegal sharing music over the Internet has gripped headlines over the last few years like few others related to the digital age. At its core, it is a battle about the meaning of property and thus a battle over the heart of the emerging information economy. This article critically examines the double punch of law and technology – the simultaneous and interwoven deployment of legal and electronic measures to protect digital content – and asks whether it is merely a defense strategy against piracy, as the industry asserts, or rather an attempt to fundamentally redefine the producer-consumer relationship. Based on some initial evidence for the latter proposition, the article analyzes reasons for concern, outlines the current politics of copyright policymaking that have given producers the upper hand, and sketches elements of a strategy to fight music piracy that does not infringe on basic consumer rights.

Scholaris is a portal of MEN agenda with educational electronic resources designated for teachers of all stages of education. The aim of the research was to identify the promoted model of digital early childhood education. An analysis of the content of portal showed a focus on technology being used to illustrate the content covered by the teaching program, limitation of openness to other communities and places on the internet, negligence of the communication between education entities and the hegemony of digital content for the teacher to reproduce. The digitality on the portal is seen as a visualsound enhancement of classes and the technical facilitation of the teacher’s work. In spite of the current innovative trends, the general model promoted on the website is seen as functional-behavioral.

One of the areas of digital image processing is the steganographic embedding of additional information into them. Digital steganography methods are used to ensure the information confidentiality, as well as to track the distribution of digital content on the Internet. Main indicators of the steganographic embedding effectiveness are invisibility to the human eye, characterized by the PSNR metric, and embedding capacity. However, even with full visual stealth of embedding, its presence may produce a distortion of the digital image natural model in the frequency domain. The article presents a new approach to reducing the distortion of the digital image natural model in the field of discrete cosine transform (DCT) when embedding information using the classical QIM method. The results of the experiments show that the proposed approach allows reducing the distortion of the histograms of the distribution of DCT coefficients, and thereby eliminating the unmasking signs of embedding.

Background Despite a growing number of studies on young people, the internet, and sexuality, not much is known on young women’s Web searches regarding sexuality, and even less so on the context of their queries.Analysis Based on an innovative “private” blog method combined with in-depth interviews, our study sought to determine what teenage girls and young women ages 17 to 21 are searching for on the Web—as well as their motivations. Conclusions and implications  Results show that the participants use the internet to gather information on a wide variety of sexual topics, often to calm their anxiety about social norms—especially when the nature of their worries is taboo.Contexte  Malgré l’effervescence des études portant sur les jeunes, le Web et la sexualité, nous ne connaissons encore que très peu ce que cherchent les jeunes femmes sur internet et, surtout, le contexte dans lequel s’inscrivent ces recherches. Analyse  Par une méthode originale misant sur l’écriture de blogues « privés » et sur des entretiens individuels, 30 participantes âgées de 17 à 21 ans ont témoigné de leurs recherches en lien avec la sexualité sur le Web et des motivations menant à ces recherches. Conclusions et implications  Les résultats montrent qu’elles utilisent le Web pour répondre à une multitude de questions, qui sont souvent motivées par des craintes liées à la norme, surtout lorsque le sujet de leurs inquiétudes est tabou.

Internet cafés represent a potential means of bridging the information gap between social groups and geographical areas This study examines the spread of Internet cafés in Indonesia The main objectives are to identify characteristics of Internet café entrepreneurs and to enhance the understanding of preconditions for the provision of Internet access by small-scale private enterprises. A survey methodology is used and the data reveal clear statistical associations between entrepreneurial adaptations, such as connection types and service variety, and success variables. The authors' policy recommendations include government intervention, primarily in infrastructure development and awareness creation, for a more equitable spread of access to information through the Internet.

Tourism is an intangible product that is simultaneously produced and consumed as well as perishable. Therefore, it is highly dependent on the availability of information. Information Technology, such as the Internet, can support customers’ search and purchase processes and act as a source and facilitator to achieve higher efficiency, less risk, and more satisfied tourists. This chapter reviews the emergence and growth of research on tourists’ online information search and purchase, the need for and use of support in this process, as well as the perception of values. Future developments of mobile technology and social media use are discussed as interesting areas of more research since they have implications for customer behavior, marketing, and management.

In today's scenario, the millennials are keen towards the mobile technology wherein they expect to use the best of it in all aspects of their lives. Online channels help the millennials to enhance their shopping experiences by taking a glance at the reviews, ratings, value, and pricing of the products. This can be attributed to the streamlined services coupled with the free trials and delivery, and additional discounts offered by the apps. But, at the same time, how their mood affects their decision is still a question. For instance, if the consumers are in a good mood, they are likely to shop more. However, if they are in a low mood, they might not shop for anything. This study includes the mind and mood analysis of the young millennial consumers while shopping for apparels online. The study will involve in-depth interviews of 21 customers. The analysis will be done through the Leximancer tool. Additionally, this chapter would help the retailers understand the range of mood, which the customers display while purchasing apparels online and accordingly devise their strategies.
