University of Islam Malang has a sister village program in Codo Village, Wajak District, Malang Regency which is recognized as a high agricultural and animal husbandry potential. In recent years, farmers in Codo village have developed rabbit farms. Further, they had a rabbit breeder group. However, the increasing number of rabbit breeders raises new problems, namely the abundance of rabbit dung. Proper strategy is needed to solve the problem. This encourages UIM to conduct a community service program on technology transfer regarding making solid and liquid organic fertilizers from rabbit dung in Codo Village. The activity focused on three tasks. First, the counseling and training for making solid and liquid compost. Second, the counseling about the importance of using organic fertilizers for soil fertility. Lastly, the discussions on various soil fertility issues related to agricultural land. This community service activity was initiated in August–November 2019 and successfully carried out with the help of students as facilitators. The use of rabbit dung as a solid and liquid organic fertilizer provided additional knowledge for rabbit breeders. They got information about the quality of rabbit manure compost and its impact on agricultural land. As a result of this activity, 83% of the community has been able to make organic fertilizer based on rabbit dung and produce solid and liquid organic fertilizer products with different chemical compositions.

The people in Lingkuang Aua village make their living in agriculture, plantation, and animal husbandry. However, the people in this Nagari have not optimized the village's potential, especially in the field of animal husbandry, including livestock manure waste. Animal manure has the potential to be processed as organic fertilizer. Fertilizer is a commodity that is needed in the agricultural and plantation sectors. In Lingkuang Aur village, the use of chemical fertilizers is still high in the West Pasaman area. However, the price of chemical fertilizers is costly, and even excessive use can damage soil fertility. Organic fertilizers are fertilizers derived from crop residues and livestock manure that have undergone a decomposition/weathering process. The advantages of this fertilizer are environmentally friendly, increase soil fertility, and increase farmers' income. This activity aims to provide knowledge and understanding for farmers in processing livestock manure into organic fertilizer. The methods used are socialization, demonstration/training, and evaluation. The targets of the activity are breeders and the community in Nagari Lingkuang Aur. This activity provides a technology package for making organic fertilizers based on cow dung and EM4, as well as the addition of organic matter found in this village. The result of this activity is that breeders and the community have increased their knowledge and understanding of processing livestock manure into organic fertilizer. The use of organic fertilizers can increase soil fertility, and the price is low, which provides benefits for farmers/breeders. It is hoped that farmers and breeders can apply organic fertilizers to agricultural land to reduce the high price of fertilizers.

Fertilization is an action in plant care. Fertilization provides additional nutrients for the soil. Fertilization has a large influence on plant growth and production. Fertilization consists of organic and inorganic fertilizers. Both of these fertilizers must be balanced so that the nutrient content can be maintained properly. The use of fertilizers an organic fertilizer that is widely used, but the use of chemical fertilizers on an ongoing basis will reduce the level of soil fertility. This must be balanced with organic fertilizer. One of the organic fertilizer is guano fertilizer. This fertilizer is fertilizer made from animal waste, namely bats. This fertilizer has a very good content including nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Knowledgethis fertilizer will still be low, so that an introduction and practice about guano fertilizer is needed. Therefore a community service activity was carried out on the development of the manufacture of guano fertilizer. Guano fertilizer development is carried out in the form of granules (granules). The targets of this service are vocational students who are related to agriculture. Vocational students are selected as the young generation to know about organic fertilizers and are able to contribute to the implementation of the agricultural industry. Community service activities were carried out with a presentation of the theory and practice of making guano fertilizer. As a result of this activity, students learned about organic fertilizer, namely guano fertilizer and its contents, nutrient content in the soil, balance in maintaining nutrient content in the soil, the practice of making guano fertilizer, and the creation of granule form from guano fertilizer.

The development of organic rice has been implemented in recent years in Pasawahan District, Purwakarta Regency. Philosophically, organic agriculture breaks away from its dependence on external inputs such as the LEISA (Low External Input Sustainable Agriculture) concept, therefore the availability of materials (such as organic fertilizers) provided at the local level is imperative. Consider the potential of livestock in KecamatanPasawahan, so far the utilization of animal waste to become inputs of organic farming production and other uses, such as as an energy source, is still not optimal. This community service activity aims to re-introduce the knowledge of organic fertilizer and introduce biogas/biodigester technology. In particular, this program seeks to apply that knowledge in the form of piloting the manufacture of organic fertilizers and installation of portable biogas installations at the site of community work activities. To achieve this, this program applied participatory approaches to the entire empowerment process, including workshop activities, training, monitoring and evaluation, and mentoring and consultancy, all of which are conducted in a participatory way. Related to the limited facilities and budgeting, for biodigester installations was conducted at one farmer's stall location, which is expected to become a model, while for the pilot of organic fertilizer making is done at several locations of farmer's land.

A person’s desire to improve the quality of life makes the individual reconsider the attitude towards the quality of consumed food. Despite the fact that the prices of natural products are several times higher than of those grown with the use of herbicides and pesticides, organic food is getting more popular in all countries around the world. Such products can only be received when crops are grown using organic farming methods, one of the principles of which is to increase the amount humus in the soil. The preservation of soil fertility can be ensured using the methods of modern biotechnology, which are based on the vital activity of microorganisms capable of converting organic matter from animal waste into environmentally friendly fertilizers. In animal husbandry, the main portion of agricultural waste is cattle and pig manure. The most economical way to dispose it is to use methane digestion, when biogas and fertilizers are obtained. However, when processing manure bedding materials in biogas reactors, the straw fractions and lignin–containing components of the bedding are not decomposed by bacteria and pass into the solid fraction of the fermented biomass unchanged, which is a problem. The infiltration of such an unprocessed residue into the soil leads to deterioration of soil properties. Thereby, the solid fraction of the fermented biomass requires additional processing to improve its agrochemical properties. Most expedient is to use vermicomposting, that is, process organic waste with the help of earthworms. Biohumus, or vermicompost, is one of the end products of this method. In this work, we studied the procedure of processing the solid fraction of fermented pig manure by Eisenia foetida compost worms (red Californian worm). In order to determine the optimal approach of vermicomposting, the experiment was planned. As a result, a high–quality organic fertilizer was obtained – biohumus –and the optimal parameters of the environment were determined(pH and humidity), at which the worms have the highest biological activity.

ABSTRACT RT 04 Sematang Borang Village has utilized a biogas installation to process cow manure into both solid and liquid organic fertilizer and also produce biogas. The biogas fermentation process and organic fertilizer processing experienced problems due to the grass within the cow manure entering the digester, which was caused by a leak in the digester cover and the low quality of organic fertilizer produced in the outlet tub. This community service activity aims to treat waste raw materials so that the fermentation process can take place optimally. The presence of animal feed or grass in the inlet tub will interfere with the fermentation process and cause the digester lid to leak. In the implementation of this community service program, the focus is on improving the digester and adding tools to aid the process of separating cow dung raw materials so that the fermentation process can be optimized. The biogas formation process requires an airtight, oxygen-free, or anaerobic (closed) space. Treatment is done by separating cow manure raw materials from feed grass by using a filter to produce good raw materials in the biogas fermentation process. So that cow manure that enters the digester can be fermented optimally.
