The growing interest both in our country and throughout the world in agriculture as an economic activity of strategic importance for ensuring food independence of the country determines the relevance of research on devising approaches to the analysis of its development using statistical methods. The authors’ approaches to assessing the development of agriculture in Russia based on data from the system of national accounts, including input-output tables, presented in this paper, make it possible to characterize the dynamics of the formation and use of output and gross value added (GVA) of the agricultural sector of the economy (including in the institutional context); assess the demand for each of the presented products within the industry and in the intermediate consumption of other industries; to identify structural changes in the composition of intermediate consumption in the production of goods; determine the trends and prospects for the development of agriculture on their basis. As part of the study, the authors disclosed additional analytical capabilities of statistical databases that include agricultural censuses and current accounting data in the system of macroeconomic indicators and allow for a more accurate assessment of the effectiveness of agricultural development. The calculated coefcients of direct costs ranged in the form of time series, analysis of the structure of intermediate consumption made it possible to identify the features of the development of the Russian agricultural sector and the directions for improving its economic and statistical analysis. The authors argue for the need to take into account the phenomenon of multistructure of agriculture in Russia to calculate the gross value added produced in the sector of peasant farms, subsidiary farms, separately small and large agricultural organizations, including holdings, with the obligatory comparison of the selling prices of their products used when calculating output and GVA. A proposal was made to include a table with additional information on labor costs and consumption of feed, fertilizers, electricity, and other basic resources in physical terms in the system of input-output tables by industry.

Moldova possesses the largest area of farmland as a share of its total land surface, an advantage which should encourage economic development strategies oriented towards the agriculture sector. Government subsidies and agriculture loans have been used as tools for developing the Moldavian agriculture. However, considering the challenges generated by both climate change (the drought from year 2012 that affected 80% of farmland) and a difficult political situation (restrictions imposed by the Russian Federation on the Republic of Moldova’s agri-food imports and exports between 2013 and 2014), the country’s agricultural system ranks very low when it comes to agricultural production efficiency. The present paper analyses the performances of the agricultural sector and its impact on the Moldavian economy over a nine-year period (between 2008 and 2016), by using a custom-developed analytical framework based on a dataset containing 21 relevant indicators. The analytical framework generates various perspectives that can be used to elaborate an economic sustainable development strategy of the Moldavian agriculture sector. The development of the analytical framework is based on the dynamics of agriculture subsidies, agricultural loans, the agricultural sector’s gross domestic product (GDP) and gross value added (GVA), as well as the dynamics of agricultural production and production value, also considering the main crops belonging to the Moldavian agriculture sector. The results are presented as sets of mathematical regression models that quantify the relationships found between the relevant agricultural parameters and their impact on the economics of the agricultural sector. It has been identified that the agriculture sector has a considerable impact on the Moldavian economy, a fact revealed by the significant model between the agriculture GVA and total GVA and GDP. A significant, negative correlation model was identified between agriculture subsidies and agriculture loans, although a small percentage of Moldavian agriculture farms were subsidized. Strong correlation models were also identified between wheat and maize production and total agriculture production, emphasizing the importance of these two crops for the Moldavian agricultural economy. Grape and maize production values also generated a correlation model, emphasizing the market interconnection between these crops It can be concluded that the increase in value of governmental agriculture subsidies, as well as expanding their addressability in order to maximize the access possibility for a higher number of agriculture farms, are essential for the Moldavian agriculture sector’s future development, since considering the limiting value of and accessibility to subsidies, a direct correlation model was identified between governmental agriculture subsidies and agriculture GVA.

This study aims to  analyze  the magnitude of the forward  and  backward linkages  of the any sector with others. The data used in this study were data from Indonesia Input-Output Table Domestic Transaction on the Basic Prices Classification of 17 sectors aggregated into 9 sectors obtained from Central Bureau of Statistics Republic of Indonesia (BPS). The method of analysis data was using the input-output model whose calculations assisted by Microsoft Excel program. The results showed that processing industry sector was a greatest total forward linkage. For that, we can say that economics growth in Indonesia still having processing industry as a leading sector. Further, this sector was having a big relationship with agricultural sector which contributed as a bigest input for agriculture. In conclusion, any development in processing industri sector will be develop agricultural sector as multiplyer effect.

The paper examines empirically the impacts of agricultural sector value added and financial development on unemployment, using yearly data from 1995–2015. Eleven developing Southern African Development Community countries were selected for the study. The empirical analysis was carried out using second-generation econometric methods. The regression results revealed that both agricultural value added and financial development are important determinants of unemployment within the region. The results specifically show that agricultural value added is negatively associated with unemployment in both the short and long-run, although the long-run effect is many times bigger than the short-run impact. The results also show that in the long-run, both financial depth and financial efficiency are negatively associated with unemployment. Interactions between agricultural value added financial development and unemployment were further tested via panel bootstrap causality tests. The causality test results revealed the existence of significant one-way causality from agricultural value added to unemployment and from financial depth to unemployment for the region. It also showed that causality varies across individual countries within the region with different conditions, indicating the heterogeneous nature of the countries that make up the regional bloc.<br />

This study aims to assess the protection for Vietnamese agriculture under trade liberalization based on the input–output approach. From a theoretical perspective, the authors develop a general framework to estimate the effective rate of protection using an input–output table, taking into account tariffs, subsidies and value-added tax. Based on the data of 2012 and 2016, with a projection to 2020, the empirical results reveal that agricultural production, which is considered as Vietnam’s comparative advantage, is insignificantly protected. From the year 2012 to 2016, the effective rate of protection declined for primary agriculture and its supporting sectors, and would become negative by 2020. This implies that Vietnamese farmers are at a disadvantage due to the effect of trade liberalization. Furthermore, it is empirically revealed that the primary agricultural sector has a high value-added multiplier, which means a significant contribution to the domestic economy, is not protected by the government’s tax and tariff policies. Based on the study results, the authors suggest some policy recommendations to improve the situation, which are focused on the reduction of the value-added tax rate on inputs, while making industries with a high spillover effect to the domestic economy a key priority.

The purpose of this research is to know the Multiplier Effect of pineapple agriculture in Kualu Nanas village towards the absorption of manpower and community income. This research was conducted in the village of Kualu Nanas, Tambang Subdistrict, Kampa Regency, Riau Province. This research is descriptive quantitative. The population and sample of this research are pineapple farmer in Kampung Riau Village, with 4 sample by looking at seller and industry by using percentage method and using formula to measure multiplier effect. This research found: (1) Multiplier Effect of pineapple agriculture on the absorption of labor affecting service sector, industry and pineapple trader, the value of Multiplier Effect is 1,195. This value shows every addition of one unit of labor base sector (pineapple agriculture) it will result in the addition of non-base sector employment as much as 0.195 times. If the increase of manpower as many as 10 people in the pineapple agriculture sector (base) it will create the opening of employment as much as 2 people in the non-base sector. (2) Multiplier Effect of pineapple agriculture on revenues affects the pineapple industry and trade with a grade of 3.04. This shows that every increase of one unit of pineapple agriculture sector (base) will result in an increase in non-base sector by 2.04 times. If the income increase is Rp.1000. In the base sector it will increase the revenue of Rp. 2.040. In the non-base sector. From the above results with the existence of pineapple agriculture will cause Value added or added value for other sectors.
