Many studies have investigated the effects of transit-oriented development (TOD) on density, design, diversity development, and transit ridership. However, fewer studies address the issue of carrying capacity of TOD. This paper aims to assess TOD areas' carrying capacity using four criteria (land capability, water availability, socio-economic, and green infrastructure) and  14 indicators on Jakarta's two TOD areas. These results show that even though both of the TOD area, Dukuh Atas and Lebak Bulus, are in the good of carrying capacity in land capability, there are some issues to address the possibility of water availability. For TOD's success, the socio-economic criteria should be promoted in the fringe-urban TOD area like Lebak Bulus. We identified the green infrastructure, such as pedestrian, cycling route, and green open space, still in low development and should be pursued to extend the TOD carrying capacity for the future.

The development of Yogyakarta Urban Area has spread to its surroundings. As a result, water resources carrying capacity and environmental problems are worsening. Rainwater harvesting (RWH) development as part of green infrastructure is one of the important methods to increase water resources carrying capacity. Relating to the problem, this research was conducted in Yogyakarta Urban Area. The study was a combination of field research and studio analysis. The field study measured the settlement’s physical parameters and surveyed the community’s socio-economic and cultural aspects. According to the physical and economic analysis based on CBR, the recommended models of water resource conservation infrastructure were absorption well/1.10; conservation pond/4.53; open space/7.47; and green space/3.59. Meanwhile, rainwater reservoir was not suggested because the CBR value was only 0.18.

Dwelling (also a residence, a residence) is a self-contained accommodation unit used by one or more households as a home; such as a house, apartment, mobile home, household, vehicle, other "substantial" structure. The concept of residence has significance in relation to search and seizure, transport of real property, theft, offenses, and land use planning. In a city like Jakarta, with dense infrastructure, wide economic disparities and a tense social composition, increasing green space should be a top priority. However, residents of the capital Jakarta can reiterate that this is not the case. That in fact lacks a conspicuous park, playground and public park in the capital. The urban design concept deals with the integration of land use, movement and traffic management and the form of the built environment.Its aim is to provide urban high-quality places that are efficient, functional and attractive, and can respond to changing societal, environmental and economic needs over time. In designing it also contributes to, and bridges between planning and design. It deals with the surrounding environment by paying attention to the context of the building and space rather than the object itself. Then it requires access to green infrastructure, open space areas and green spaces, which will contribute to a greener, healthier, smarter, safer, livelier, richer and fairer. This guide will assist in assessing and demonstrating progress in improving green infrastructure to create a place that is useful, sustainable and well used. Konsep tempat tinggal memiliki signifikansi dalam kaitannya dengan pencarian, pengangkutan properti nyata, dan perencanaan penggunaan lahan. Di kota seperti Jakarta, dengan infrastruktur yang sangat padat, kesenjangan ekonomi yang luas dan kehidupan sosial yang tegang, peningkatan ruang hijau seharusnya menjadi prioritas utama. Namun, penduduk ibukota Jakarta dapat menegaskan kembali bahwa hal ini tidak terjadi. Bahwa pada nyatanya kekurangan Taman, tempat Bermain dan taman umum yang mencolok di ibukota. Konsep desain perkotaan berkaitan dengan integrasi penggunaan lahan, pergerakan dan lalu lintas manajemen dan bentuk lingkungan binaan. Tujuannya adalah untuk menyediakan perkotaan berkualitas tinggi tempat-tempat yang efisien, fungsional dan menarik, dan dapat menanggapi kebutuhan perubahan masyarakat, lingkungan dan ekonomi dari waktu ke waktu. Dalam mendisain juga berkontribusi, dan menjembatani antara perencanaan dan perancangan. Ini berhubungan dengan lingkungan sekitar dengan memperhatikan konteks bangunan dan ruang daripada objeknya sendiri. Maka diperlukan akses ke infrastruktur hijau, area ruang terbuka dan ruang hijau, yang akan berkontribusi lebih hijau, lebih sehat, lebih cerdas, lebih aman, lebih hidup, lebih kaya dan lebih adil. Panduan ini akan membantu dalam menilai dan mendemonstrasikan perkembangan dalam meningkatkan infrastruktur hijau untuk menciptakan tempat yang berguna, berkelanjutan dan digunakan dengan baik. Ini membuat masyarakat yang lebih luas, lingkungan alam dan mendukung perekonomian yang sehat.

Development plan of monorail and tramway in Surabaya City aimed to encourage the movement based transit. TOD (Transit Oriented Development) is model for integration of transportation and land use in order to encourage the transit ridership. The result of study in worldwide show the success of TOD application in increasing the usage of transit mode by developing policies on land uses around station/terminal. Therefore, it needs to adopt TOD in transit area of Surabaya City to achieve the sustainable transportation. This chapter aims at exploring and conceptualizing green infrastructure (GI) as a comprehensive system in planning schemes of metropolitan cities such as Melbourne (Australia) and Izmir (Türkiye). Urban open space network(s) and its further step, “GI,” stretches out from the urban core through its periphery. This requires investigation of the planning hierarchy between metropolitan planning and urban design with a focus on connectivity and urban sustainability. Supporting and managing physical development, modes of transportation, and social life, GI provides ecological and social services to cities in pursuit of sustainable development. Following the scrutiny of Melbourne’s GI and its relevance to the planning history, this work undertakes a comparative analysis between Melbourne and Izmir in order to address the development of a metropolitan GI system for these cities. Such an approach would support policies and strategies relating to sustainable urban development.
