AbstractTree identification is a very important to support almost all activities in the forest sector. Unfortunately, the inavailability of data and computer programs that is user friendly have caused ineficiency in tree identification. This research tries to make an expert system to identify trees by using the leaf images. To store the data in the knowledge base one must choose one of the some leaf images that are in the data base available in the program according the characteristic of the leaf. Each leaf image has a code and the accumulation of all codes build a tree code then this code is saved in the knowledge base. The tree code is used to identify a tree by making the comparison between input chosen by user and the tree code in the knowledge base using forward chaining. User who has information about a tree can add to the knowledge base but this information must be validated by an expert before it is used in the system. Another task of an expert is to give a CF (certainty factor) for each tree. The result of this research shows that no more errors are found due to input mistakes and the program is more user friendly. Another advantage is that the knowledge base is more flexible, dynamic and well organized Validation of knowledge base by experts can increase the quality and accuracy of using the knowledge base system. Keywords : expert system, leaf image, knowledge base, forward chaining, CF

An expert system is a knowledge base system that solves problems using an expert's knowledge that is entered into a computer, thereby increasing productivity, Because an expert can work faster than a human lay works like an expert. Expert systems Also solve problems by imitating the ways in the which an expert expert offer section with problems in his field, one of the which is in the field of computer repair, the problem of computer damage Becomes a fairly complicated problem, this problem is Generally experienced by individuals and institutions. One of them is in school institutions that have computer laboratories. to diagnose computer use can damage the certainty factor method that helps identify damage to the computer and find the cause of damage to the computer based on the symptoms that occur and the solution to repair it. Certainty Factor is one of the techniques used to deal with uncertainty in decision making. In dealing with a problem, answers are Often found that do not have full certainty. This uncertainty is influenced by two factors items, namely the uncertain rules and user uncertain answers. Uncertain rules are rules of symptoms that are determined for a damage.

The state of Indonesia, especially in the area of Central Java, is one of the largest producers of water guava. Some farmers rely on the results of guava cultivation as the basis for the family's economy because the guava harvest is quite promising. However, in certain seasons, water guava plants are often attacked by various kinds of pest and disease season disturbances. So that it can reduce crop yields or even cause crop failure. To overcome this problem, fast and precise action is needed so that the guava plant is protected from various kinds of pests and diseases. The method of developing an expert system for disturbance in water guava plants is the best solution in order to identify disturbances in water guava plants as early as possible. The method used in this expert system is the certainty factor method. With this method, several experts are needed to provide data related to disturbances in water guava plants. The expert system for guava plant disorders is designed using a web-based PHP programming language. In designing the knowledge base, which is the core of this system, is made dynamically to make it easier to add new data.

<div data-canvas-width="358.7930270399999">Pest infestation to soybean plant results in yield losses up to 80%. Therefore, it needs to be controlled properly. The main problem in controlling it is that far mers a nd ext ension workers a re difficult to promptly diagnose the types of main pest infecting the plant in the field. In consequence to the technology applied to control it is not appropriate. Whether it is mechanically, biologically, and chemically. To help them in making prompt decission, a user friendly tool need to be developed. One of the tools is an expert system. The development and implementation of the system were carried out at Indonesian Assessmetn Institute for Agricultural Technology (IAIAT) of West Sumatera Province and Universitas Putra Indonesia, Padang. The project was conducted from March to September 2009. The methodology applied in designing, developing, and implementing. The system was process-oriented methodology that is a model driven technique orienting to a process. The expert system generated uses based knowledge of 15 pests types attaching soybean plant, 7 sites of plant damage, 53 damage symptoms, and 166 nules. While the knowledge base is 15 technologies of main pest management having certainty factor/CF around 0.8 – 1.0. The system interface consists of two forms, that are one for advanced user and the another one for farmer or extension worker. The advanced one is able to improve the existing knowledge as well as the rules and the non advanced just consult to the system. The developed system need to be further developed to make it comprehensive. The system is also called “Sipakar Hatmalai”.</div>

Using skincare and facial skin care must be in accordance with the type of facial skin, because if it is not suitable, it can cause problems such as facial skin breakouts, dry skin, irritated skin, and acne prone skin. To find out the type of facial skin, you have to do an examination with a skin and genital specialist, but the high cost of consultation and the long queue process is an obstacle for everyone. Therefore, the authors created an expert system to identify facial skin types using a combination of certainty factor methods with forward chaining techniques. The diagnostic results from calculations using an expert system application and the results of manual calculations from one of the respondent data from 100 respondent data, namely producing the same level of confidence, each of which produces a percentage of 99.45% and the diagnostic results state that the user has a normal skin type.

Chicken farming is one of the promising business potentials, but in management and care, it is very important to determine the success of chicken farming. Often in the care of negligent employees so that they are exposed to disease outbreaks. With various types of diseases that attack the symptoms are very similar and even the same as other diseases, therefore an expert system can be used to diagnose a disease by looking at the characteristics of the disease suffered, and how the solution is to treat or prevent the disease In the study, it discusses 8 types of broiler diseases, where the expert system method used is the Fuzzy Max method, Forward Chaining, and Certainty Factor. From the results of the Fuzzy Max method, the results showed an accuracy of 80% - 90% for all types of diseases, while the Certainty Factor method showed 96% - 99% for all types of diseases. Keywords— Expert System, Fuzzy Max, Certainty Factor,  Forward Chaining.

Mental health problems in children, such as stress, anxiety, or depression are real and these problems are as important as physical health problems, but many children do not get the care they need so an artificial intelligence technology such as an expert system can help diagnose the disorder mentally in children early. This research developed an expert system to diagnose mental disorders in children using the mobile-based Forward Chaining and Certainty Factor method that diagnoses 7 types of mental disorders in children from 46 symptoms obtained based on the knowledge of 3 experts. Based on the results of the black box testing states that the expert system that was built has had compatibility in terms of functionality. The results of the theoretical calculation test states that the calculation system of an expert diagnosis of a child's mental disorder is in accordance with the results of calculations done manually. In testing the accuracy of the system from 30 cases tested on 3 experts, the expert system that was built succeeded in producing system accuracy values based on the final belief value of the three experts, based on the belief values of experts 1, 2, and 3, respectively 91.11%, 96.67%, 96.67% and 80%. Furthermore, the results of MOS testing conducted on 35 respondents produce MOS of 4.12 from a scale of 5 where based on that value the expert system built is categorized into a good system.

Dental and oral disease is one of the diseases that has been felt by most of the people. Insufficient information and the limited level of public awareness of the prevention of dental and oral diseases make the impact quite dangerous if not handled properly. An appropriate information system is needed in overcoming and providing solutions for handling a disease as early as possible. Expert systems can be used as a means of information on the treatment of dental and oral diseases. The manufacture of the expert system in this study initially used the forward chaining method, which is a method that searches based on information that is made into a set of rules so as to get a conclusion. However, after re-analysis, two other methods, namely certainty factor and dempster shafer, were also applied in this study with the aim of overcoming the shortcomings of the forward chaining method, one of which is uncertainty in producing a conclusion or diagnosis of disease. Determining the type of dental and oral disease can be known by looking at the symptoms experienced by the patient. The use of an expert system for diagnosing dental and oral diseases can be used as an initial solution in helping someone to treat the disease. The existence of this expert system can be used as consideration in making decisions to determine the type of dental and oral disease quickly, precisely and accurately.
