Purpose: This study investigated teaching efficiency and satisfaction with clinical practicum for college students in the audiology major. Through this research, the author seeks to improve quality and teaching methods in clinical practicum. Methods: Although a total of 140 participants who completed at least one course in audiology clinical practicum were recruited, the author analyzed only 131 surveys. The questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, audiology clinical practicum satisfaction, and teaching efficiency in audiology practicum education. All questions other than those related to general characteristics were prepared on the Likert 5-point scale. Results: Audiology clinical practicum satisfaction and teaching efficiency averaged 3.91 and 4.04, respectively. Audiology clinical practicum satisfaction and teaching efficiency based on participants’ characteristics showed statistically significant differences related to clinical practicum period, health status, interpersonal relationships, difficult interpersonal relationships in clinical practicum, satisfaction with college life, satisfaction with major, and satisfaction with audiology clinical practicum. There were significant positive correlations between the sub-factors of teaching efficiency and audiology clinical practicum satisfaction. Conclusion: In the audiology major, teaching efficiency and clinical practicum satisfaction were very similar to or higher than those in health departments, and teaching efficiency was found to have a significant effect on clinical practicum satisfaction. Therefore, the College of Audiology and the Korean Faculty Council for Audiology will develop and investigate specific clinical practicum instructional plans and clinical practicum guidelines that can improve audiology clinical practicum satisfaction, and the introduction of a systematic system to reflect these results should be actively considered.

The present study examines the outcomes of a 5-week summer bridge writing program at a Midwestern, urban, public university designed to provide remedial instruction for incoming first-year college students, approximately 500 students annually for 7 years. Regression results showed that program participation was a positive, significant predictor on the outcomes of 6- and 4-year graduation, first-year earned credits, and first-year college grade point average, even after controlling for demographic and academic preparation variables. The combination of academic preparation and an introduction to the college experience helped to prepare students for college success. This institutionally funded program shows promise in addressing the remediation needs of students and preparing them for success in credit-bearing courses as well as college life in general, getting them on track for timely college graduation.

ABSTRACT Introduction: The main reason for the decline in college students’ physical fitness and health is the lack of physical exercise, the emphasis on study and the neglect of physical exercise, and the lowering of the physical fitness requirements of college students. Objective: The paper analyzes the status quo and existing problems of college students’ physical fitness and proposes that the school party committee issues policy-based health intervention measures, encourages school physical education teachers to participate in students’ after-school physical exercises, and extensively develops school mass sports activities. Methods: The paper uses a literature method, questionnaire survey, comprehensive evaluation method, etc., to analyze the internal and external factors of college students’ physical decline. Results: Through the practice density test of students in physical education teaching, it is learned that physical education in the first grade can fully develop students’ physical fitness, and the practice density of each class reaches 60%. The practice density of the second-grade optional courses is about 20%, and it cannot achieve the purpose of effective physical exercise. Conclusions: The current teaching content and teaching methods of physical education classes cannot effectively complete physical education tasks. It is necessary to adjust the teaching content further and improve the teaching methods. Level of evidence II; Therapeutic studies - investigation of treatment results.
