This study aims to see whether the determinants are related to treatment compliance for pulmonary tuberculosis patients at the 2019 health center. This type of research is a quantitative observational cross-sectional design. The results showed that with a P value of 0.05, there was a significant relationship between knowledge (P value = 0.005 and POR = 14.276), attitudes (P value = 0.506 and POR = 1.615), family support (P value = 0.038 and POR = 1,961), the role of health workers (P values = 0.026 and POR = 4.440), with medication adherence for pulmonary tuberculosis patients. Conclusions, of the 4 variables there are 3 variables related to adherence to taking pulmonary TB drugs in the Work Area of the Siak Hulu II Health Center, namely knowledge, family support, and the role of health workers and 1 unrelated variable, attitude.   Keywords: Obedience, Medicine, Lung Tuberculosis

Background: Sputum smear negative pulmonary tuberculosis is a common problem faced by clinicians. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy may be very useful in diagnosing these cases which have no sputum or whose sputum smear is negative for acid fast bacilli. Objective of the current study was to assess the role of fiberoptic bronchoscopy in sputum smear negative under NTEP and radiologically suspected cases of pulmonary tuberculosis. Methods: Clinico-radiological suspected cases of pulmonary tuberculosis patients in whom two sputum smear for acid fast bacilli by Ziehl Neelsen stain under NTEP was negative were included in the study. Fiberoptic bronchoscopy was performed in all these patients and samples taken were sent for investigations. Results: Fiberoptic bronchoscopy was performed in 250 patients of suspected pulmonary tuberculosis whose sputum for AFB smear was negative. Cough was the most predominant symptom. Radiologically, right side disease was more common and upper zone was most commonly involved and infiltrates were common radiological finding. During bronchoscopy, congestion and hyperaemia (36%) and mucopurulent/mucoid secretions (32%) was seen in maximum number of cases. BAL was positive in 200 patients (80%), post bronchoscopy sputum was positive in 70 cases (28%) and biopsy was positive in 12 patients out of 16 performed biopsies (75%). The total TB positive cases after combining all the methods were 215 making the overall diagnostic yield of 86%.Conclusions: Fiberoptic bronchoscopy and post bronchoscopy sputum can be very useful for diagnosing sputum for AFB smear negative but clinico-radiological suspected cases of pulmonary tuberculosis patients.

The epidemiology of Tuberculosis (TB) showed that TB is a disease which is associated with malnutrition. Malnutrition and lacking of certain essential nutrients required by immune system might cause immune function deficiency resulting higher susceptibility to bacterial and viral infections. There is positive correlation between immune system and high nutrient contents, such as Vitamin C, zinc, and antioxidants that brings good effect on infections, including Tuberculosis. One of the efforts conducted to help promoting improving albumin level on pulmonary tuberculosis patients is through zinc and sulphate provision followed by Omega-3 supplementation. This study was conducted in 2015 aimed to analyze the role of Zinc Sulphate Omega-3 provision in improving albumin level on pulmonary tuberculosis patients in Paru Hospital, Surabaya. This study applied randomized study design using Pre-test and Post-test Control group design on patients suffering pulmonary tuberculosis. This study was conducted by administering Zinc Sulphate and Omega-3 on treatment group and placebo on the control group. The samples of this study consisted of 20 pulmonary tuberculosis patients divided into two groups: treatment group and control group. Each group consisted of 10 patients. Statistical analysis was conducted using paired T-test and independent t-test. The results is There were significant differences in albumin level (p = 0.001) in the treatment group before and after supplementation Zinc Sulphate And Omega 3. While in the control group between before and after supplementation Zinc Sulphate And Omega 3 showed no significant differences in body weight (p = 0.224). The conclusions is Zinc Sulphate and Omega 3 plays a role in increasing albumin level respondents. There are significant differences on albumin level before and after supplementation Zinc Sulphate And Omega 3.

Kata kunci: Pengawas minum obat, periksa ulang dahak, tuberkulosisAbstractPatients with tuberculosis who had completed treatment but did not do sputum rechecking at the end of treatment phase reached 117 people (20% of total patients). The drug consumption supervisor has a duty to remind the patient to carry out sputum rechecking. This study aims to determine thecorrelation role of drug consumption supervisor with the compliance sputum rechecking at the end of treatment phase. The design study is case-control. Cases are positive pulmonary tuberculosis patients aged > 15 years who had completed a treatment category 1 and did not recheck the sputum at month 5 or the end of treatment. The results showed that statistically variable confounder knowledge of extension workers and patients correlated significantly with the compliance sputum rechecking at the end of treatment phase of adult tuberculosis patients. The results of multivariate showed logistic regretion that drug consumption supervisor’s role is less well having3,013 times the risk of causing the patient not adherent to recheck the sputum at the final phase of treatment compared to patients whose drug consumption supervisor role well (95% CI = 1,615 to 5,621) after the controlled variable extension officers and the knowledge of the patient.Key words: Drug consumption supervisor, sputum recheck, tuberculosis
