The hydrodynamic mass approach to the solution of dynamic problems in coupled fluid-cylindrical shells is reviewed; simplified equations for computing the hydrodynamic masses and for the subsequent solution of the eigenvalue problem are given in several commonly encountered special cases. Methods of incorporating the hydrodynamic mass concept into finite element structural analysis computer programs for the more general cases are discussed.

Multi-storey buildings are vertical buildings that are made to meet human needs as places of education, government, commerce, sports facilities and others. As the development of science and technology, especially in the field of civil engineering, many computer programs have been developed to help in analyzing and designing a building structure. There are several computer programs developed to analyze and design structures, including SAP 2000 (Structural Analysis Program), with this program, it will be easier for writers to plan a building.The research carried out was to plan the structure of a six-story hotel building. This hotel building is the object of research planned by the author and was designed using the help of the SAP2000 program. Building design planning only includes planning beams and columns. In this plan the writer uses references such as regulations, PPPURG 1987, SNI 03-2847-2002, SNI - 1726 - 2002The results of the design of the hotel building structure used three variations that have the results of column K1 used size 45 cm x 45 cm, reinforcement base 12 D16 and stirrup reinforcement ?10-90, column K2 used size 35 cm x 35 cm, base reinforcement 8 D16 and stirrup reinforcement ?10-90, B1 beam used size 20 cm x 40 cm, support reinforcement 7 D14, field reinforcement 7 D14, waistline 2 D12, and support stirrup reinforcement ?10-80 and field stirrup ?10-170, beam B2 used size 15 cm x 20 cm, 75D14 support reinforcement, 5 D14 field reinforcement, 2 D12 waistline, and pedestal stirrup ulangan10-30 and field stirrup ?10-70

Recently internal and external prestressing enjoys a booming in the bridge construction, but the existing structural analysis programs of bridge can’t meet the requirements of analyzing the internal and external prestressing comprehensively. This paper will simulate internal and external prestressing effects by the finite element method; come up with some programming methods based on the object-oriented thought; and put forward the design and implementation methods of internal and external prestressing effect class by abstracting them to the corresponding class and elaborating the main features of each class, including the instantiation object and the typical method, to realizing the internal and external prestressing effects calculating. All of these will provide some references to the development of structural analysis program of bridge.

In this paper, the finite element analysis for stress/deformation/modes of vibration for the centrifugal fan impeller with constant thickness backward-curved blades using CATIA software will be presented. The principal steps of the finite element analysis procedure using CATIA/Generative Structural Analysis environment will be presented: creating the 3D model; configuring the mesh; applying the restraints; applying the loads; running the numerical static analysis and the numerical frequency analysis; interpreting the results and observing the modes of vibration correlating with the impeller mode shape. This procedure will be used for 4 different centrifugal fan impellers according with the 4 blade design methods and the results will be comparatively analyzed. For each design method, two materials will be used: steel with density of 7860 kg/m3 and aluminium with density of 2710 kg/m3. Two important results have been obtained after the structural analysis: under the working conditions considered for the analysis, all 4 blade design methods leads to impellers with very good mechanical behaviour; any frequency of the main modes of vibrations for all blade design methods and for both materials is not in phase with the impeller speed, thus the possibility of resonance being eliminated.

Studying the armor-piercing effect of armor-piercing bomb that attacks aluminum target is essential, because the target can be considered the simulation of the actual fight equipment. Based on the hypothesis about building the fraction field, the armor-piercing effect of armor-piercing bomb is analyzed, and the velocity and the intruding depth parameter model of armor-piercing effect are established. Taking a certain armor-piercing bomb as example, the intruding processes of armor-piercing effect are simulated by using the nonlinear finite element analysis program LS-DYNA, while aluminum target simulates the wall of combat equipment in two different conditions. At last, the finite element simulated results are given and analyzed that agree with the experiments.
