It studied the geological properties and contamination characteristics of soil from contaminated sites of typical chromate plants in western plateau of China. The results indicated that in the shallow part of 0-4m, it was mainly loess-like soil and in the depth of 4-18m, it was mainly gravels and pebbles. The soil had better permeability and ex-situ washing treatment is recommended. The soil was severely contaminated and the concentration of chrome (Ⅵ) was as high as 16,000mg/kg. Based on the analysis, it developed a two-stage demonstration project of countercurrent ex-situ washing plus chemical stabilization with daily capacity of 20m3 soil and a demonstration project of chemical reduction and precipitation plus advanced treatment of filter bed with daily capacity of 200m3 wastewater. After treatment, the concentration of chrome (Ⅵ) in soil was less than 100mg/kg and that in water was reduced to below 0.05mg/L from 1,000mg/L, which can meet the requirements of third-grade groundwater quality standard.

Demonstration project attempted to restore the terrestrial habitats around wetlands and reduce the manganese (Mn) pollution of wetlands. Project had tested five kinds of trees for phytoremediation in terrestrial habitats, and designed Ecological interception system (EIS) to control the Mn pollution to wetlands. EIS was composed of the surface runoff collection system (SRCS) and the Treatment system (TS). SRCS composed of cobblestones, high-capacity adsorbent fillers, sands and plants. TS composed of three subsurface wetland units processing modules. The results show that: (1)New soil and base fertilizer applied in the plant pits can effectively improve plants survival rate; (2)Koelreuteria paniculata, Elaeocarpus sylvestris and Paulownia can be used for phytoremediation in terrestrial habitats; (3)Canna warszewiczii, Boehmeria, Thalia dealbata and other nine kinds plants in the EIS can absorb the Mn element effectively; (4)EIS can purify the water effectively. The complex project was based on the biological principles, ecological principles and biochemical effects which provides a reasonable ecological engineering model suitable for the restoration of polluted wetlands.

In this paper, we mainly introduced demonstration project of flue gas desulfurization and denitrification achieved by ozone oxidation and alkali wastewater. The System showed high automatization, which performed good adaptability and load tracking capacity on the concentration of SO2, NOXand variation of flue gas. Meanwhile, outlet concentration of the SO2and NOXcould meet the design requirements. The experimental results showed that the overall economy of designed process had certain advantages compared with conventional desulfurization and denitrification technologies.
