Abstract Smart building constructions such as Campus Buildings have been designed for use, where the physical structure and system components are interrelated and can maximize functionality for operation and maintenance. So that the Campus building can be used with a longer age. One of the sub-systems that can monitor and notify the range of energy usage on a campus building is a smart electrical energy meter (kWh meter), which is connected to all devices that consume electrical energy in campus buildings. These interconnected smart devices use IoT (Internet of Things) interconnection networks and low power wireless technology (Lora). In a case study of the use of this system at the Indonesian Defense University, Unhan, Sentul, Bogor, West Java, it can be seen how the maximum efficiency in the use of electrical energy can be obtained in the smart campus building construction, which runs automatically.

As an important part of Smart Grid, smart metering attracts more and more attention all over the world. It is the way for energy consumer to sense the benefit of smart grid directly. Smart meter is an advanced energy meter that measures consumption of electrical energy providing additional information compared to a conventional energy meter. This paper discusses various applications and technologies that can be integrated with a smart meter. Smart meters can be used not only from the supply side monitoring but also for the demand side management as well. It plays an important role to monitor the performance and the energy usage of the grid loadings and power quality. In addition, This paper gives a comprehensive view on the benefit of smart metering in power network such as energy efficiency improvement.

Electrical energy usage has been rapidly increased in the building sector due to shifting in population from rural to urban area. In the building, Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system. Especially air-condition system has taken the most substantial proportion of overall building energy consumption. This result from a large amount of energy must be used in order to provide a comfort zone for occupants in the building. So, this paper aims to proposed design and built prototypes of air-condition control unit that can automatically operate according to schedule. The prototypes using a wireless module to send the control signal to the air-conditioning unit. Specific software has been built to set the desired operating schedule and duration of an operation. The performance of the proposed unit will be evaluated using an experiment on actual field test by installing on actual air-condition in the case study building. The result has shown that the proposed unit can reduce energy usage in air-conditioning significantly compare with little cost for the controller unit.

In conventional electric measurement devices, measurements are made on the use of electrical energy as a whole where consumers can only see information on the results of the use of electrical energy by looking at the total power consumption amount indicated on the meter kWh meter. Based on the above problems, the author aims to raise the title "Design of Monitoring System of Electricity Energy Usage using LabVIEW". The LabVIEW program has the ability to measure, monitor and store data quickly and accurately. With this tool will be realized a design system monitoring the use of electrical energy in real time through the computer instead of kWH meter analog or digital. This concept is one of the energy management solutions that enable consumers to obtain statistical data on electrical energy consumption in detail. From the results of monitoring the use of loads, obtained very good results in monitoring the usage of energy, which in this case using household burden.
