A promising applied technology on hybrid power system for electric vehicle was proposed in this paper. Considring the actual bus working conditions, a testing system of multi-stage pulse discharge was designed. The separated LiFePO4series, lead-acid battery and the paralleled battery pack, constituted by the lithium battery and lead-acid battery with equal capacity, were tested to compare the voltage and power characteristics, as well as temperature rise. The results indicate that the lithium-ion batteries provide momentary high currant at high rate pulse discharge while keeping the lead-acid stay at a higher state of charge and improving its cycle life. During the intermittent, spontaneous capacity redistribution is achieved in the paralleled system, which helps to relieve the potential polarization and avoid the over-discharge of lithium-ion battery. Systematic analysis of the paralleled system demonstrats that it is benefitial to the circuit control, cost, cycle life and safety.

The paper studies a nonlinear model based on time series neural network system (TSNN) to improve the highly nonlinear dynamic model of an automotive lead acid cell battery. Artificial neural network (ANN) take into consideration the dynamic behavior of both input-output variables of the battery charge-discharge processes. The ANN works as a benchmark, its inputs include delays and charging/discharging current values. To train our neural network, we performed a pulse discharge on a lead acid battery to collect experimental data. Results are presented and compared with a nonlinear Hammerstein-Wiener model. The ANN and nonlinear autoregressive exogenous model (NARX) models achieved satisfying results.

Lead-acid battery has perfect characteristics, such as good performance, rich raw materials and low prices, it plays an important role as starting power and auxiliary power in vehicles, Because of inadequate understanding internal active material in physical or chemistry reaction in charging process or technical conditions of limit ,the charging methods mainly contents the constant voltage ,constant voltage the current limit, constant current .These methods fail to damages such as overcharging ,short-charging, gas chromatography and high electrolyte temperature. So, this paper analyzes concentration polarization and electrochemical polarization in fast charging based on the MAS theorems. However, pulse discharge technology can change the concentration of ions near the electrode, which speeds up the electrochemical reaction rate and increase the energy into the chemical energy efficiency.
