Abstract Project 70 and Project 7000 Type 304 stainless steel are versions of conventional AISI Type 304 (18Cr-8Ni) stainless steel having improved machinability and higher tensile and creep strengths. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness and creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-418. Producer or source: Carpenter. Originally published January 1983, revised September 1997.

Abstract CARPENTER STAINLESS 18-18 PLUS is an 18 chromium-18 manganese austenitic stainless steel which provides twice the yield strength of AISI Type 304 stainless steel and corrosion resistance similar to AISI Type 316 in some media. It has excellent ductility and toughness and good high-temperature strength. Although Carpenter 18-18 Plus contains no nickel, it is nonmagnetic both in the annealed condition and after severe cold forming. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on low and high temperature performance, and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-344. Producer or source: Carpenter.
