This research makes use of Research and Development method in which a teaching model is developed to teaching grammar in the form of multiple-choice questions. It is Cohort-based Grammar Teaching Model that is developed. In the development of this teaching model, fifty students took part in. The research was conducted at Sekolah Tinggi Ilmu Manajemen Sukma Medan on jalan Sakti Lubis no. 80. To figure out what teaching model which the students need, questionaire was disseminated. In analyzing the available data from the instrument, questionaire inspired by Guttman Scale was made with numerous modifications in statements and questions. The analysis reveals that the participants require an intersting and fun grammar teaching model; easy to understand and more efective; quick problem-solving, time-saving  and target-oriented.  Due to this reason, eventually, Cohort-based Grammar Teaching Model is not mediocrewhere it is capable of alternating grammar problem for multiple-choice question in structure part of the TOEFL in a relative instant high result way. Keywords: Research and Development, Teaching Grammar, Multiple-choice question, Cohort

This study aims to: (1) map the students’ needs to enhance their understanding of grammar (2) map the teachers’ needs to overcome students’ low understanding of grammar, and (3) design a grammar teaching model. This was a research and development study. The research subjects were Grade VIII students of twelve junior high schools. Theresults indicate that (1) the majority of students say that it is necessary to have more intensive teaching and learning of Indonesian grammar; (2) they state that it is necessary to learn all the components of grammar more intensively; (3) all teachers do not deliver the knowledge about grammar beyond the competency standard; (4) the main problemsthat teachers experience in teaching grammar through an integration of all language skills are materials preparation, strategy selection, and assessment; and (5) the teaching model to implement “focus on form” includes instructional process, interactive feedback, text comprehension enhancement, task-based instruction, collaborative tasks, and discoursebased approach.

This paper details the design and validation process of a questionnaire that allows teachers to assess themselves in how they apply the flipped learning model in their professional teaching practice. More specifically, the tool will assess the degree to which a given teacher’s practices are in keeping with general standards established for this teaching model. In the design phase, a previously existing questionnaire on the same topic was used, and a thorough review of its structure and items was conducted, taking as a reference the general standards established by international experts in the design and application of the model. The validation phase consisted of two procedures. First, 12 teachers and professors who use flipped learning lent their expert judgement, and their answers and suggestions were analysed and incorporated into the design of an initial pilot version of the questionnaire. The second phase consisted of validation and reliability testing through the analysis of the answers offered by the 76 teachers who responded to the questionnaire. After this process, the questionnaire can be regarded as scientifically valid and suitable for its purpose.

Mathematics, along with the need for logic and thinking, is becoming more important in many fields. Therefore, many universities in Korea have opened and operated a college basic math course to improve basic math skills for freshmen in science and engineering. The new generation of digital generation is creative, familiar with cooperation and active. They are already rapidly changing and ready for new education, and education needs a new paradigm to evolve. Flipped Learning is being suggested which is well known as a teaching method which lets students learn the contents they will learn in advance through the advance online video and have a discussion through the team interaction in the main class for them to solve the assignment through the cooperation in a self-initiated way. In this study, we have taken a merit of flipped learning, made a model of Gauss Jordan elimination method in matrix that students cannot easily understand in the lecture. Here, we will introduce a teaching model that combines flipping learning and existing lecture methods.
