The ability of a bay and gulf ecosystems to self-purification was estimated and the current ecological state of the Sevastopol Bay in whole and the separated parts of the bay was given as an example. A zoning by type of anthropogenic impact subject to the water exchange with the open sea and an influence of the Chernaya River run-off were taken into account. A comparative analysis of assimilation capacity of the most environmentally disadvantaged part of the Sevastopol Bay (the Southern Bay) and the clean water area, bordering on the open sea, was carried out. The hydrodynamic regime of the Sevastopol Bay was described using numerical modelling. The prospect, opportunity and examples of the methodology for assessing the assimilation capacity of marine ecosystems are demonstrated.

The soils of recreation areas in the central part of Khabarovsk were studied. The complexity of engineering and geological conditions predetermined the ambiguity of anthropogenic impacts and the difference in technogenic morpholithogenesis. This is reflected in the degree of transformation of the soil cover and the ecological state. The degree of its contamination with heavy metals according to the average estimates of their content is within acceptable values. At the same time, local areas are quite tense, where the sensitivity of green spaces is an indicator of this state. In conditions of intensive anthropogenic impact, the assessment of the total value of the heavy metal content is not sufficiently informative, since the state of the local contaminated areas is leveled. This indicates the need for more in-depth studies of the soil, taking into account its basic components

A modern study of the Arpa River and its tributaries allows evaluating the ecological state of the ecosystem according to phytoplankton development indicators and comparing it with previous data. It is known that modified control of hydrosystems for hydropower stations changes quantitative and qualitative indicators of water, which increases anthropogenic impact on the diversity of hydrobionts. In order to mitigate the environmental risks and improve the ecosystem self-cleaning it is necessary to carry out continuous monitoring and rapid assessment of the change in the composition of microalgae indicators.

Abstract On the example of the park zones of the city of Khabarovsk (“Dynamo” and “House of officers of the fleet”), a variety of transformation of the soil cover and the formation of new preferred formations were revealed. The specificity of the state of the soil environment of two parks, located in e same type of engineering-geological conditions, but different variants of anthropogenic impact, is revealed. The changes in the structure of the profiles depending on the position of the soil in the elementary landscape are considered and their biological activity is characterized. The use of bioindication methods indicates that the most comfortable park areas of the city are also susceptible to contamination with heavy metals. It is proposed to use the characteristics of the basic parameters of the soil cover as a promising approach in improving the environment. This will reveal the ecological situation of the territory and make appropriate decisions to improve its condition.

The article considers the expediency and necessity of agroecological optimization and determination of the integral index of the ecological state of Poltava region. The presented results of the research prove that the methodology for determining the integral index of the condition of Poltava region in the system of sustainable development of residential territories gives an opportunity to optimize the territory of the region for the production of organic products. To achieve the goal, scientists’ methods are used to make a ranking and establish criteria for anthropogenic impact on the environmental state of the environment.

The problem of anthropogenic impact of the Tudakul reservoir has not been spared. In the first years of the reservoir’s existence, its ichthyofauna was formed by the fish of the Zarafshan River, which were represented by both rheophiles and limnophiles, and initially it consisted of 11 aboriginal species and introduced fish. This paper gives a brief physical-geographical, hydrological, hydrochemical, hydrobiological characteristics of the Tudakul reservoir. An assessment of the ecological state of the reservoir, ichthyofauna and fish catch in it over the past decade is given. Recommendations for the rational use of the Tudakul reservoir are given.

Formulation of the problem. Global climate change causes transformation in the humidification regime and, as a result, makes adjustments to economic activities and features of water use. In the context of Ukraine, against the background of climate change, the runoff of most domestic rivers is declining, which especially in the limited period exacerbates the issue of balanced use of ecosystem services of aquatic ecosystems and prioritization of needs during resource allocation, control of rivers and establishment of their functioning. The purpose of the article. Recognizing the strategic importance of freshwater ecosystems in ensuring sustainable regional and national development, the study of the Southern Bug River was aimed at assessing its ecological status in order to identify sources of negative anthropogenic impact and identify general ecosystem distortions that may affect the functional integrity of the aquatic ecosystem. Methods. The research points on the Southern Bug River were determined by the method of randomization. The total length of the route was about 200 km. Also, the spatial location of settlements was taken into account, so that the investigated points were both upstream and downstream. Measurement of physicochemical parameters was performed by instruments: TDS-3, TDS/ЕС/Temp-meter HM COM-100, pH-meter Ezodo 6011A. The task of hydrobiological research was to find and identify species at the family level. The research was conducted at the end of July 2020, when the river entered to low flow phase. Results. On the basis of field research, the assessment of the ecological state of the Southern Bug River in the lower course (from the city of Pivdennoukrainsk) was carried out in the work. Regularities of pH dynamics and mineralization of the aquatic environment are established. The limits of the spatial influence of the Black Sea waters on the Southern Bug, the continental advance of which (upstream) almost 100 km up is due to the high level of regulation of basin runoff, have been specified. The same processes, as a consequence, affect not only biodiversity, but also the features of industrial and domestic water use. Using the stenobiontic approach, the level of ecological safety of the Southern Bug ecosystem in the lower course was assessed. Based on the obtained results of stenobioindication, the zoning of the studied area of the Southern Bug is proposed, which compares quite well with the results of pH and mineralization measurements. Only 1% of the route, which corresponds to the porous section of the river channel, was classified as a "healthy ecosystem". The closer to the mouth, the pH of the water gradually increases, which contributes to the intensification of the eutrophication process. Scientific novelty and practical significance. The obtained results are considered to be an integral part of future field research on the identification of sources of negative impact on the aquatic ecosystem of the Southern Bug. The novelty of the results obtained is a comprehensive assessment of the ecological state of the river ecosystem in the low flow period, which, in contrast to the concept of maximum permissible concentration, characterizes the state of the Southern Bug not point, but takes into account the cumulative and synergistic effects of anthropogenic impact. The latter are best manifested during the summer season, as a result of which the structure and biomass of the river's food chain change significantly. In addition, the analysis of the rational use of water resources of rivers allowed us to state that the modern system of environmental standards, which in particular regulate the quality of the aquatic environment, cannot ensure the preservation of river ecosystems.
