Fiber concrete containing fibrous materials is manufactured to improve the low tensile strength of concrete and its brittle properties. In this research, fiber obtained from PVC coated welded wire mesh with diameter of 1 mm was utilized. There were several variations of fiber concrete samples made. Samples were subjected to tensile and compressive strength tests. The elastic modulus was measured by using extensometer and strain-stress gauges. The results show that the incorporation of PVC coated welded wire mesh increases the tensile strength of concrete, when the percentage of the fiber is 1.5%, with the length of 3.6cm, and the interlocking of 1.2cm. However, the compressive strength is slightly reduced from the normal ones. The elastic modulus results show that the introduction of PVC coated welded wire mesh tends to reduce the flexibility, as the value reduced 15-50% as compared to the normal ones without any fiber

The study deals with the effect of using Slurry infiltrated fiber concrete (SIFCON) with the reinforced concrete beams to explore its enhancement to the flexural capacity. The experimental work consists of the casting of six beams, two beams were fully cast by conventional concrete (CC) and SIFCON, as references. While the remaining was made by contributing a layer of SIFCON diverse in-depth and position, towards complete the overall depths of the built-up beam with conventional concrete CC. Also, an investigation was done through the control specimens testing about the mechanical properties of SIFCON. The results showed a stiffer behavior with a significant increase in load-carrying capacity when SIFCON used in tension zones. Otherwise high ductility and energy dissipation appeared when SIFCON placed in compression zones with a slight increment in ultimate load. The high volumetric ratio of steel fibers enabled SIFCON to magnificent tensile properties.

By means of the tests on the mechanics performance of the reinforcing concrete mixed with sisal fibers or rubber powder of certain content are investigated. The compressive strength, tensile strength and flexural strength, etc. are compared. The test indicates that when the test condition is same, the compressive strength, tensile strength and flexural strength of the sisal fibers concrete are better than those of the rubber powder’s. The sisal fiber concrete is environment friendly than the rubber powder concrete. And it has widely value of spread and utilization.

The design of a stand for testing concrete and fiber-reinforced concrete specimens-"eight" in tension, which provides axial load application and minimizes the effect of stress concentration at the ends of the specimen. The design of the stand is such that the distance between the axis of load application and the central hinge is 108 cm, and between this hinge and the axis of the test specimen is 21 cm, as a result of which the load transferred to the specimen is 5.143 times greater than the applied one. At the first stage of testing, it was found that the optimal characteristics of the fiber-concrete mixture is a matrix with a large aggregate ≤ 10 mm with 1.0% fiber reinforcement. At the second stage, the ultimate strength of fiber-reinforced concrete for axial tension was determined - 1.28 MPa when reinforced with wave fiber and 1.37 MPa when reinforced with anchor fiber, which amounted to 4.1% and 4.4% of compressive strength, respectively. It was also found that concrete reinforced with anchor fiber has higher deformation properties than concrete reinforced with wave fiber.
