Abstract In our paper, tariff mimicking is interpreted as a specific type of yardstick competition. Local authorities compete for political capital and, in order to maintain (or increase) it, they compare their voter-sensitive policies with the policies of other local governments. The phenomenon of mimicking is related to the subject of inter-jurisdictional interactions. We try to identify the phenomenon of mimicking in local fees for water provision in Poland in the period 2013–2017. Our empirical strategy is based on two methods: spatial lag regression and a quasi-experimental design using a difference-indifferences method. In the latter method, we first identify local governments that have considerably increased their tariffs for water. Next, we compare whether their immediate neighbouring municipalities are more likely to follow the change than a ‘control group’ of similar, more distant, local governments. The results of our study confirm the existence of geographical interactions in the tariff policies of Polish local governments. Furthermore the results of our regression models confirm that ‘mimicking interactions’ are stronger in the case of tariffs for water provision than for local tax policies.

Teaching materials by integrating local culture makes easier for students to understand the subject matter in the learning process. The aims of the study is to measure the effectiveness of teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai in improving the students problem solving abilities. The research method was a quasi experimental which use non equivalent control group in the pretest posttest design. The sample of study were students of Senior High School grade X in Binjai that consisted of experiment group which used teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai and control group that used student handbooks. Teaching materials are tested by material experts and technology experts to ensure the quality of teaching materials. Data collection was conducted through test. The results showed that the teaching materials based on local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai effective in improving students problem solving abilities in the experimental group students based on the results of N gain value was 0.67 which has medium criteria. It means teaching materials based on agricultural local wisdom of agriculture in Binjai can be used as one of the teaching materials in learning activities.

As well as the power tTarik learning using information technology is well designed to help learners in the digest and understand the subject matter. On dasarya this research uses Quasi Experimental Research method, by using the subject of research in the form of a group (class). Class VI MI DDI Seppange taken as the population because, this class was considered qualified and already have knowledge about android-based learning, this can be seen from the quizlet diajuan at the time of pre-test. Variables that are revealed in this research is a study of the response against the application of learning to the students ' quizlet klas VI students taught using quizlet and response application of their learning. Next design research is applied in this study isThe pre-test – post-test control group design.

The problem that we need to be solved in the world of our education is the weak learning process. The learning process in the classroom is still directed at the child's ability to memorize information. While biology requires logical and reasonable learning to be accepted and absorbed by the brain so that it can last long. The aim of the research is to know the influence of course review horay learning toward student’s of cognitive learning class ten in the subject matter cell in MA Sabilul Hasanah Kecamatan Sembawa Kabupaten Banyuasin. This research method used quasi-experimental design with a quantitative approach research pretest-posttest control group design. The sample is taken by using purposive sampling techniques. The sample was grade XI MIA 2 as an experimental class and class XI MIA 1 as the control class. The instrument used in this research is a test to measure student’s cognitive learning about the cognitive categories C1-C4. Data analysis use the t-test, data on the calculation difference average posttest both groups earned value t-test much as 4,806 while value t-table with significant level5% with degrees of freedom (dk) 42 is equal to1,684, it can be said that t-test > t-table means the alternative hypothesis (Ha) be accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) rejected. It can be concluded that there is a significant influence of course review horay learning toward student’s of cognitive learning class eleven in the subject matter cell inMA Sabilul Hasanah.

ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya perbedaan Keterampilan Proces Sains (KPS) siswa menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dan pembelajaran konvensional mengenai materi pokok elastisitas dan hukum Hooke di SMA. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah quasi-experiment dengan desain two groups pretest-posttest. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI MIPA SMA Negeri 5 Medan. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling yang terdiri dari dua kelompok yaitu kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tes dan observasi aktivitas KPS siswa. Data dalam penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan pengujian hipotesis uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya perbedaan KPS yang signifikan antara penerapan menggunakan model pembelajaran inquiry training dibandingkan pembelajaran konvensional dengan nilai sig. 0,000 pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil uji N-Gain Score dengan penerapan model pembelajaran inquiry training lebih tinggi dalam meningkatkan KPS siswa sebesar 0,70 dalam kategori tinggi dibandingkan KPS siswa dengan penerapan pembelajaran konvensional sebesar 0,59 dalam kategori sedang. Kata kunci: keterampilan proses sains; model pembelajaran inquiry training. ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the differences in Science Proses Skills (SPS) of students using inquiry training learning model and conventional learning about the subject matter of elasticity and Hooke’s law in High School. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with two groups of pretest-posttest design. The population of this research is all students of class XI MIPA in Public Senior High School 5 Medan. The sample was taken by a purposive sampling technique that consists of two groups, namely an experimental group and a control group. The data collected technique has been done by tests and observations activities SPS student. The data in this research was analyzed a hypothesis-testing t-test. The results showed significant differences in SPS between the application of using inquiry training learning models compared to conventional learning with the value of sig. was 0.000 at the significance of level 0.05. Based on the results of the N-Gain Score test with the application of the inquiry training learning model is higher in increasing SPS of the students by 0.70 in the high category compared to SPS of students with the application of conventional learning by 0.59 in the medium category. Keywords: science process skills; inquiry training learning model.

Introduction: Neuroanatomy is considered as difficult subject as it consists mostly of complicated microscopic structures. However, understanding of the subject structure is very important for nursing students to know its functions and dysfunctions for enhancing nursing practices. To date, teaching neuroanatomy relies heavily on illustrations and the most common way is by using PowerPoint slides, but teachers are often faced with dilemma on how to use illustrations effectively. Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of different ways of presenting neuroanatomy illustrations in PowerPoint slides on nursing students’ short[1]term learning memory. Methods: The quasi-experimental study was conducted at Faculty of Nursing and Public Health, Khesar Gyalpo University of Medical Sciences of Bhutan between June 2020 and November 2020 by comparing an Experimental (n= 70) and a Control group (n= 69) of first year nursing students for their ability to answer questions based on those seven-way slides. Independent sample t-test was used for statistical analysis. Results: Significant difference was found at 95% CI between the performance of the Experimental and Control groups regarding Way 1 (Sequencing of labels) and Way 6 (Magnifying from the original structure) of presentation (tWay 1(135.99) = 2.695, p= .008, d = .458, 95% CI = [0.059, .385]; tWay 6(135.61) = 2.351, p= .020, d = .399, 95% CI = .031, .355], respectively). Conclusions: The use of different ways like sequencing the labels and magnifying from the original structure of presenting illustration in PowerPoint slides are found to be helpful in increasing short[1]term memory in students.

Penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Luwu pada materi pokok larutan penyangga. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah posttest only control design. Sampel diperoleh secara acak dan terpilih kelas XI MIA 3 sebagai kelompok eksperimen dengan jumlah peserta didik 30 orang dan kelas XI MIA 2 sebagai kelompok kontrol dengan jumlah peserta didik 32 orang. Kelompok eksperimen dibelajarkan dengan pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning sedangkan kelompok kontrol dibelajarkan dengan model discovery learning tanpa pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan. Data hasil belajar dilakukan dengan pemberian tes hasil belajar. Hasil analisis statistik deskriptif menunjukkan nilai rata-rata posttest peserta didik kelompok eksperimen yaitu 81,33 dan nilai rata-rata posttest peserta didik kelompok kontrol yaitu 74,87. Hasil analisis statistik inferensial menunjukkan bahwa data terdistribusi normal dan homogen. Pengujian hipotesis yang dilakukan dengan uji parametrik dengan menggunakan uji-t menghasilkan hasil belajar thitung > ttabel = 2,45 > 1,67 pada α= 0,05. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemberian kuis di awal pertemuan pada model discovery learning berpengaruh terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik kelas XI MIA SMA Negeri 10 Luwu pada materi pokok larutan penyangga. Kata kunci: Pemberian kuis, Model discovery learning, Hasil belajar ABSTRACT This research is a Quasi-experimental that aims to know the effect of giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting on the discovery learning model to the study result of the students of class XI MIA in SMA 10 Luwu on the subject matter of the buffer solution. The research design used was the posttest only control design. The sample is taken randomly so the XI MIA 3 is chosen as the experiment group with 30 students and XI MIA 2 as the control group with 32 students. The experiment group is taught by using quizzes at the beginning of the meeting in the discovery learning model meanwhile the control group is using the Discovery Learning Model without giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting. Data result is collected by giving posttest. The results of the descriptive statistical analysis showed that the average study result of the experimental group student was 81.33 and the control group students was 74.87. The results of inferential statistical analysis show that the data is normally distributed and homogeneously. The hypothesis trial by using the parametric test t-test results thitung > ttabel = 2.45 > 1.67 in α = 0.05. So, it can be concluded that giving quizzes at the beginning of the meeting in the discovery learning model influencing the study result of class XI MIA students in SMA Negeri 10 Luwu on the subject matter of the buffer solution. The aim of this study was to find out (1) To know the influence of active learning strategy video critic to students’ attention on the subject material global warming in grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. (2). To know the influence of active learning strategy video critic to students’ learning result on the subject material global warming in grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. The kind of the research is quantitative.The  research design used is Quasi Experimental Design in the form of Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The population is all students grade VII of SMP Muhammadiyah Jayapura. The taking of sample is conducted with the technique of purposive sampling. And class VII D as the class control and VII D as class experiment. The instruments used are survey, observation, and objective test questions. The data is analyzed with the simple regression test. The result of the researchshows that : (1) There is significant influence to students’s attention in following learning process by using active learning strategy of video critic with the score of is bigger than  (2,90>2,045). (2) There is significant influence between the students’ learning result in the class experiment by using the active learning strategy video critic with the score of is bigger than  ( 2,292>2,045).

AbstrakTujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui apakah hasil belajar matematika siswa menggunakan model role playing lebih dari hasil belajar matematika siswa menggunakan pembelajaran ekspositori di SMPN 21 Kota Bengkulu pada pokok bahasan aritmetika sosial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah Quasi Experiment (Eksperimen semu) dengan desain penelitian yaitu The Nonequivalent Posttest-only  Control Group Design. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar berupa tes akhir (posttest) yang berbentuk tes essay. Analisis uji hipotesis menggunakan uji-t untuk sampel independen, diperoleh bahwa  dan , maka yang berarti  diterima. Hal ini didukung oleh perhitungan melalui SPSS versi 23 yang menunjukkan bahwa nilai Sig. (2-tailed) = 0,159 dengan taraf signifikan ( ) = 0,05, sehingga Sig. (2-tailed) > ( ). <p>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GR (<em>Group Resume</em>) terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X pada pokok pembahasan nilai mutlak di MAN 2 Bima tahun pelajaran 2017/2018. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen semu (<em>Quasi Eksperimental) </em>dengan rancangan penelitian <em>Control Group Pre-tes Post-tes</em>. Populasi dari penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X MAN 2 Bima yang berjumlah 223 siswa. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah tes hasil belajar siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh dapat diketahui bahwa pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GR (<em>Group Resume</em>)  dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa pada pokok bahasan nilai mutlak. Ada pengaruh model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe GR <em>(Group Resume)</em> terhadap hasil belajar siswa kelas X MAN 2 Bima tahun pelajaran 2017/2018.</p><p> </p><p>This study aims to determine the effect of the GR (Group Resume) cooperative learning model on class X student learning outcomes on the subject of absolute value discussion at MAN 2 Bima in the academic year 2017/2018. The population of this study was all students of class X MAN 2 Bima, amounting to 223 students. The research instrument used in this study was a student learning achievement test. The data analysis technique used is descriptive statistical analysis and inferential statistical analysis. Based on the data obtained, it can be seen that cooperative learning type GR (Group Resume) can improve student learning outcomes on the subject of absolute value. There is an influence of the GR (Group Resume) cooperative learning model on the learning outcomes of Class X MAN 2 Bima students in the 2017/2018 school year.</p>

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of 5E inquiry learning activities on students’ achievement, attitude toward chemistry. A non-equivalent control group design was used to the quasi-experimental research in this study. A total of 34 (8 males and 26 females) undergraduates in Turkey voluntarily participated in the study. The 5E Inquiry Learning Activities were applied to the experimental group and lecture-based traditional activities were applied to the control group. The both two groups were taught by the same instructor and used same books. The Chemical Equilibrium Concept Test (CECT) and the Attitude toward the Subject of Chemistry Inventory (ASCI) were applied to both groups as pre-test and post-test. The results of the study revealed that 5E inquiry learning activities were more effective in improving the achievement in chemical equilibrium compared to lecture-based traditional activities. In addition, the results showed that there was no statistically significant mean difference between experimental and control groups with respect to attitude toward chemistry.
