Extra-peritoneal leiomyoma is a rare condition with the recognised etiologic factor being direct seeding of the site by a prior uterine surgery with a right metabolic environment. We report a rare case of abdominal wall leiomyoma developing in a fertile woman with no known predisposing factor and highlight the common approach to establish the diagnosis so as to deliver appropriate treatment to the patient.

Acute and chronic pyelonephritis are known afflictions to the kidney in diabetics and in patients of abnormal urinary anatomy. And its presentation as a spontaneous sinus opening on the anterior abdominal wall is a rare phenomenon. We present one such rare case of a 71-year-old male with pus discharge from the anterior abdominal wall for 7 months. On investigating, it was found to be a nephrocutaneous fistula arising from the left non-functional kidney. This was dealt with left nephrectomy along with excision of the sinus tract. Though a very rare condition, a possibility of nephrocutaneous fistula must be kept when dealing with discharging sinus in lumbar region.

Synovial Sarcomas (synoviomas) are the fourth most common malignant soft-tissue tumours, and typically develop in para-articular locations of the extremities in close association with joint capsules, tendon sheaths, bursae and fascial structures. Other less common sites include the head and neck, abdominal wall, intra-abdominal cavity, and mediastinum. In this article, an interesting and rare case of a 25-year-old man with left upper abdominal lump is reported which was subsequently diagnosed as biphasic synovial sarcoma (spindle cell variety) of anterior abdominal wall.

Cysticercosis, caused by Taenia solium larva is a major public health problem especially in developing world. In this unusual form of infection man becomes the intermediate host. The encysted larval stage commonly infests brain, but muscles and subcutaneous tissues are also often affected. High resolution ultrasonography is diagnostic for subcutaneous or intramuscular cysticercosis. Here we present a rare case of anterior abdominal wall cysticercosis.
