The aim of this report is to present a clinical case of an additional tooth (dens suplementarius) in a 13-year-old thoroughbred mare currently used for pleasure riding. She was referred for specific dental evaluation because of recurrent nasal discharge that started to change from mucous to mucopurulent. The first attempt to remove the additional tooth was performed on the standing horse, but was unsuccessful because of the location of the problem. Surgical procedures under general anaesthesia, that is, trepanation of the nasofrontal sinus and “sinus flap,” succeeded. The mare was under antimicrobial therapy for 7 days after the surgery and received NSAID drugs for 2 more days. Medical dressing was removed 2 days after the surgery, and sinus flush with Foleys catheter was performed during 8 days after removing the dressing. The mare returned to previous work soon after the surgical procedure. Dental problems are among the most common in field veterinary practice, but supernumerary teeth occur in only a small percentage of horses. Cases of such tooth abnormalities are usually detected in the early or middle age of an animal during a regular dental examination or when the situation starts to create clinical problems. A suspicion of an additional tooth should always be confirmed by imaging diagnostics. In most cases, radiological evaluation is enough to confirm the diagnosis and asses the situation before selecting a specific medical solution.

Introduction: The objective of this clinical case report is to describe the presence of bilateral fourth molars. The occurrence of supernumerary teeth (ST) is a relatively unusual dental anomaly., It is even more unusual to find patients with distomolar teeth also denominated fourth molar teeth. Presentation of the case: This article describes a clinical case of a 24-year-old patient presenting with a maxillary fourth molar, who was diagnosed by dental x-ray, and surgical resolution of the case. Conclusion: Tooth extraction surgery was the clinical procedure chosen to treat the impacted tooth.

Mesiodens is the most common supernumerary tooth and is present in the midline between the two central incisors. It occurs mostly due to hyperactivity of the dental lamina. They are usually small, with a cone shaped crown and a short root, may be single or paired, erupted or impacted and occasionally even be inverted. Presence of more than one mesiodens is termed as mesiodentes. Presence of mesiodens may cause impaction or delayed eruption of permanent teeth, malocclusion leading to disturbance in chewing, swallowing and speech, root resorption of the adjacent teeth, impaired dentofacial aesthetics, and sometimes cyst formation. The erupted mesiodens can be easily diagnosed clinically, and the unerupted ones are best diagnosed by clinical and radiological evaluation. Although mesiodens is the most common supernumerary teeth, presence of double mesiodens is uncommon. In this paper we describe a case of palatally erupted double mesiodens and its management in a 20year old girl.

ABSTRACT Mesiodens is the term used for describing the supernumerary tooth that occurs in the maxilla, between the central incisors, in the midline region. These may erupt in the oral cavity or keep themselves impacted. Their presence causes cleaning inadequate, impossibility or difficult of the eruption of the regular teeth and having the aesthetic compromised. This paper aims at showing that early identification of supernumerary teeth, planning and correct approach, allow the preservation of the teeth and adjacent structures. This article presents the clinical case of a seven-year-old child, male, who sought for treatment complaining that teeth 11 didn't appear in the buccal cavity. Clinical and radiographic exams were done and they demonstrated the presence of the supernumerary tooth. The plan of treatment aimed at the correct localization, extraction of this supernumerary tooth and continuous follow up of the case.

Fusion or synodontia is a union of two or more than two developing teeth. Commonly fusion occurs between teeth of the same dentition, mixed dentition, or between normal and supernumerary teeth. Fused primary teeth present with several clinical problems like caries, periodontal problem, arch asymmetry, delayed eruption, ectopic eruption of succedaneous teeth, aesthetic, and other complications. This paper presents a rare and unusual case of triple teeth in mandibular primary dentition.

ABSTRACT Fused teeth are a developmental anomaly involving the union of two dental germs at the crown, root or pulp. This type of anomaly occurs during intraosseous development, resulting in a morphologically irregular tooth that can affect both the primary and permanent dentition. Clinical problems involving esthetics, a lack of space and greater susceptibility to caries are often associated with fused teeth. This type of anomaly is easily confused with dental twinning, which has similar clinical features but emerges from a single dental germ. The aim of the present study was to report a clinical case of the fusion of two deciduous mandibular incisors, describe prospects for treating this anomaly and discuss its repercussions during the development of the dentition. Extraction of the fused tooth was performed and orthodontic treatment was recommended for esthetic and functional improvements. Integrated planning involving both Pediatric Dentistry and Orthodontics provided a better treatment option.

The article describes a clinical case of Fournier’s gangrene in a 65-year-old man with rectal mucinous adenocarcinoma. Given the presence of a malignant neoplasm, elderly age and the general severity of the patient’s condition, the widest empirical antibiotic therapy was prescribed, the spectrum of which overlapped the most probable pathogens. The patient was discharged from the hospital on the 32nd day. The article discusses the rational tactics of antimicrobial therapy in such difficult cases for treatment.

ABSTRACT Supernumerary tooth, also known as hyperdontia, is the condition where more than the normal number of teeth is present. By definition, the supernumerary teeth are the extra teeth present in the oral cavity. They can be found in the region of oral cavity, but are common in the maxilla than mandible.   Supernumerary teeth may be encountered by the dental practitioner as a chance finding on a radiograph or as the cause of an impacted central incisor. Their presence may give rise to a variety of clinical problems. Detection of supernumerary is best achieved through clinical and radiographic examination. This article shows the cases of supernumerary teeth in mandibular premolar region and maxillary third molar region along with its etiology, frequency, classification, complication, and management.
