Grid computing is a distributed computing technology that utilizes resources connected through a free computer network, yet coordinated with a specific mechanism. The development of grid computing infrastructure is not easy because it takes skill and experience in the installation and configuration of both Linux-based and open source program. In this study, the author built a grid computing infrastructure based on Debian 4, and used Globus Toolkit 4.1.2 on three computers. The WSRF technology was tried to run as an indication that the grid infrastructure has been successfully built. Based on some experiments in this study, grid computing can run well on the three computers with a user interface of web-based grid system using the UCLA Grid Portal. Overall the system runs fine, but it requires high experiences and comprehensions upon the Linux operating systems as well as computer networks in the installation process.

In this research, we build a grid computing infrastructure by utilizing existing cluster in Telkom University as back-end resources. We used middleware Globus Toolkit 6.0 and Condor 8.4.2 in developing the grid system. We tested the performance of our grid system using parallel matrix multiplication. The result showed that our grid system has achieved good performance. With the implementation of this grid system, we believe that access to high performance computing resources will become easier and the Quality of Service will also be improved.

Today is the era of Cloud Computing Technology in IT Industries. Cloud computing which is based on Internet has the most powerful architecture of computation. It reckons in of a compilation of integrated and networked hardware, software and internet infrastructure. It has various avails atop grid computing and other computing. In this paper, I have given a brief of evaluation of cloud computing by reviewing more than 30 articles on cloud computing. The outcome of this review signalizes the face of the IT industries before and after the cloud computing.

This paper reports on the experimental use of a broadband computer network hypermedia environment for language learning (French, English and Spanish). Using Web-based resources, students engage in a collaborative task over a network which offers high quality video-conferencing, application sharing and access to authentic multimedia resources. One of the main aims was to establish the practicalities of providing learners of languages with opportunities to engage in reciprocal peer tutoring. After outlining the pedagogical assumptions, and describing the set-up of the network-based learning environment, the trials are analysed, and the effectiveness of network-based language learning in supporting collaborative learning is discussed.

With the rapid development of computer network, the network architecture is increasingly complicated; the scale of network extends continuously. Therefore, the functions and positions of the network management are also more and more important. The Web-Based network management, making users manage the network and system expediently and simply, combining Web technology and modern distributed network management technology, which can also be updated and customized easily to meet the different needs, is an important direction of the development of the network management technology in the future. This paper proposes an a SNMP-based Web network management system using B/S structure, which has features of flexible structure, easily extensible, user-friendly features and so on.

Abstract - PT. S.A.M.B (Sarana Abadi Makmur Bersama) is a distributor and logistics company engaged in Modern Trade (MT) for fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) in Jabodetabek (Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, Bekasi). In addition to distribution, SAMB also provides services for companies seeking logistics and transportation services for modern trade within the designated area. The inventory design system is one of the most important factors in meeting the needs of consumers in a timely and demanding manner. There are still many companies that use desktop applications especially on PT. Sarana Abadi Makmur Bersama. Employees often complain about the performance of the used desktop app. Not all desktop applications can run on all operating systems, while web applications can run in all operating systems as long as there is a browser and an internet connection, it makes it more practical. With web-based asset inventory data item can be used relatively fast, relatively accurate, and relatively more accurate data. . This study aimed at developing a Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game-based (MORPG) Learning system which enabled instructors to construct a game scenario and manage sharable and reusable learning content for multiple courses. It used the curriculum of “Introduction to Computer Science” as a study case to assess students' learning effectiveness on the subject of “computer network”. The sample was 56 freshman students, who were randomly assigned to two groups, one of which used the game-based learning and the other one the Web-based video lectures. Furthermore, this study also conducted the System Usability Scale (SUS) to measure satisfaction, usability and learnability of the developed management system for instructors. Five instructors were invited to participate in the practical use and evaluation. The results showed that game-based learning could be exploited as effective learning environments and game design system was usable and learnable for instructors to create learning games.
