Purpose – This article aims to explore the impact of supply chain integration on the financial performance of Swedish manufacturing firms. Design/methodology/approach – The literature review provided the foundation for the development of the survey instrument and hypotheses for the study. In addition, the survey instrument was tested by the experts in the field and modified before it was sent to the managers in the survey group. Findings – The findings show that supply chain integration at any level is beneficial to the financial well being of the firm. Companies with total supply chain integration reported the highest level of financial performance. Research limitations/implications – Data were collected from Swedish manufacturing firms without regard to the size of the firm. The results show that supply chain integration is beneficial at any level. Practical implications – The findings will assist managers with decisions regarding supply chain integration and its role as a critical factor in improving the financial performance of manufacturing companies. Originality/value – Limited empirical studies have been conducted in this area, especially in Sweden. This study provides insight for manufacturing managers with regard to the importance of supply chain management and the competitive nature of business in the global market.

This study aims to investigate the impact of technology capability and logistics integration commitment on information sharing as well as global supply chain competitiveness. Data were collected from 177 local manufacturing firms that are competing in global markets. The findings indicate that logistics integration commitment is significantly related with information sharing and global supply chain competitiveness. This study however, fails to establish a relationship between technology capability and global supply chain competitiveness. The findings also highlight information sharing as a mediator.

The research is carried out to determine the impact of ERP implementation in the improvement of the Supply chain in the manufacturing sector. The research undermines a detail investigation of How ERP is working to improve the performance of a firm. However, our research is quite specific with improving SCM performance. The identified problem for the research I basically related to process issues, control management issues etc. However, ERP has come up with solutions for it. Previous researches have clearly documented the fact that ERP is based on best practices and therefore, it being’s revolution to the firms. The research is carried out on a similar basis to determine how manufacturing firms with ERP can improve its SCM performance. In conclusion, the research identifies that manufacturing firms through ERP implementation can serve in leading the market, fulfilling the right demand, saving cost and improving operations.

Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the impact of logistics management on success of supply chain among Kenyan manufacturing companies.Methodology: A descriptive research design was adopted. The objective populace of the investigation was all the 708 assembling firms in Kenya authorized under Kenya Association of Manufacturers the year 2017. An equation was utilized to choose 96 firms out of the complete 708 firms. The head of acquirement from each firm was focused as the unit of perception. Quantitative essential information was gathered by the examination. The investigation utilized both enlightening and inferential measurements for examination. A relapse model was utilized to set up the connection between the factors. SPSS adaptation 21 was utilized for information examination. Information discoveries was exhibited through tables and figures. Results and conclusion: The study found that warehousing management positively and significantly affects supply chain performance of manufacturing firms in Kenya. The results further showed that inventory management practices positively affect the supply chain performance of manufacturing firms. Consequently, order processing management was found to positively affects the supply chain performance of manufacturing firms in Kenya. The study finally established that transportation management positively affects the supply chain performance of manufacturing firms in Kenya.Unique contribution to theory, policy and practice: The study prescribes that the administration of assembling firms should consolidate the practices into their framework so as to improve their presentation and competitiveness. Strategic administrators of different assembling firms should lead every one of these pieces of training to guarantee that there is slicing of expenses through co-ordinations rehearses. The examination suggests for the upgrade stock control and the workforce needs outer direction concerning stock control. There is requirement for more opportunity to be taken in the procedures inside the distribution center. The association ought to have satisfactory stock control measures set up. The investigation additionally prescribes that it is important to designate stockroom assets proficiently and successfully to upgrade the efficiency and decrease the activity expenses of the distribution center. All assembling organizations and different associations ought to be encouraged to grasp the idea with the goal that they can probably receive the rewards of embracing these practices.

Purpose – Supply chain integration (SCI) is a set of practices driven by many factors and circumstances. The purpose of this paper is to examine firms’ internal and external drivers of SCI, evaluate the impact of the integration on firm performance, and further investigate the moderating role of organizational culture in strengthening the relationships between firms’ drivers and SCI. Design/methodology/approach – For the purpose of this study, manufacturing firms were identified as the focal firms in supply chains, and thus data were collected through a survey of 223 Indonesian-based manufacturing firms. Two informants from each firm became the respondents. Structural equation modeling was used to analyze the data. Findings – This study confirmed the positive relationship between SCI and firm performance. The results also indicated that internal driver, or specifically firms’ customer orientation (CO), triggered the initiation of SCI. Organizational culture, in terms of external focus, positively influenced the relationship between CO and SCI. Research limitations/implications – This study illustrates the important role of organizational culture in determining the shape of the relationship between firms’ drivers and SCI. The results of this study enhance the understanding of SCI, especially related to types of organizational culture that could promote the integration. Originality/value – This study brings a different dimension of SCI as this study provides evidence from a developing country, which might implement different practices as compared those of developed countries. This study provides a measure of internal drivers, which has not been empirically investigated. The new measure was tested and validated using a rigorous process, and thus could be employed in other studies with different settings.

Purpose This study aims to examine the effect of supply chain agility (SCA) on operational performance (OP) measurements of steel manufacturing firms. It also investigates the role of cost efficiencies concerning enhance OPs. Design/methodology/approach The study is based on an experimental research design by collecting data from responses 398 responses of key officials of India’s steel manufacturing firms. Analyses are carried to explore this modern concept with the help of Smart-partial least square (PLS) version 3.3.2 with confirmatory factor analysis and PLS structural equational modelling. Findings SCA factor (SCAF) directly has influenced the firm’s OP. It also represents cost efficiencies that have partial mediation between the SCAF and OP. The impact of cost efficiencies on OPs is strongly significant as compared to the impact of SCAF on cost efficiencies. Practical implications Management teams in the manufacturing industry should stress the role of SCA as a comprehensive concept in responding to market needs in a volatile environment. SCA reflects one of its winning strategies in today’s dynamic and competitive world. Managers must thoroughly know the ramifications of agility to develop a mechanism for determining the procedures and identifying inequality in SC operation. Originality/value This study speaks explicitly about the linkage between SCAF, OP, CE. It is an addition to the existing theories of RBV. Enhancements in OP measurements, specifically performance and flexibility, will lead to better firm performance. study conceptualizing the complementing effects of SCA (IS capability) and OPs and second cost efficiencies play positive partial mediating effect in between the link. The achievement of SC agile is especially a critical approach to Boost customer satisfaction and differentiate market position.
