Economic activities are featured with certain cycles. The cycles can concern the whole economy as well as particular sectors. The dairy industry is one of the branches that are of high importance in Polish and the world as regards food sector. Polish dairy industry faced deep structural changes and modernisation. After the accession to the EU domestic market is strongly linked to both the EU and the world markets. The production in Poland exceeds consumption by ca 20%. The surplus is exported, which ties up the situation on the domestic market with the situation on international markets. Conducted analysis of the domestic and the world markets of milk skimmed powder showed parallel fluctuations. Domestic prices and the prices on the world markets are strongly correlated. The knowledge on the characteristics of those fluctuations allows stakeholders for a proper risk management as well as elaboration of suitable policy options by government administration.

With the rise of factory farming, milk is now almost an unnatural operation. The modern dairy farm can have hundreds, even thousands of cows. Today’s average dairy cow produces six to seven times as much milk as she did a century ago. Currently, the United States is the largest producer of milk in the world, followed by India and China. India being one of the largest milk producer around the world, has to import a part of Milk products and its exports are negligible in the World Export Share. This paper tries to examine the issues regarding ‘Export Performance of Dairy Industry of India’: Trends, Challenges and suggestions for improving the trade situation. The existing Literature has been reviewed accordingly comprising Trade Exports, Imports and the factors which are affecting the Milk Production in country. The Objectives of the study is to find out the reasons for the low per unit production, Imports and negligible exports. In Nutshell, it can be said that there are many unexplored areas in which researchers can explore the findings which can be helpful in achieving trade balance of the Indian Economy.


The article considers the current state, trends and problems of development of the dairy industry of Ukraine in modern conditions. The subject of the research in the article is the competitiveness of Ukrainian dairy products in global markets. The goal is an identification of comparative advantages of the dairy industry of Ukraine and identified prospects for its further development. The purpose of the article is to find out the current state and dynamics of production, world prices, demand, exports of dairy products in Ukraine and the world, to determine the comparative advantages of Ukraine in the dairy industry based on the calculation of the Balass index, to review the environmental aspect of the industry. General scientific used research methods: system analysis – to determine the competitiveness of the dairy industry of Ukraine; historical method – to track trends in the global and Ukrainian dairy market; correlation analysis – to determine the interaction of price relations in the domestic market, statistical method – to reflect quantitative indicators, etc. The following results were obtained: based on the study revealed trends in reducing production and exports of dairy products, identified comparative advantages of the dairy industry of Ukraine in a larger regional territory of European markets and proposed ways of further development in accordance with current challenges in the world. Conclusions: the Ukrainian dairy industry is able to compete in world commodity markets, promising areas for export expansion may be Kazakhstan, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, the Middle East. Given the overall reduction in the capacity of the dairy industry in Ukraine, producers propose to focus on intensifying production and implementing new technologies, taking into account the environmental component.

India is the largestmilk producer in the world and dairy cooperatives are the backbone of Indian dairy industry. In Kerala, the Kerala Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation,popularly known as Milma,has played a significant role for the development of dairy business. But in the recent years even though the Federationcontinues to mark growth,the percentage of growth has beenfar below the growth of theprivate dairy sector. The study analysed the performance of KCMMF with respect to milk pourment and sale, and of the various welfare schemes of the Federation. The study revealed that the growth in the pourment of milk was not par with the growth of thesale of milk during the period of study. Only 14 percent of the total member farmers were pouringmilk to the dairy cooperatives. Huge amount spent by the Federation for implementing welfare schemes has notcreated a positive impact on the growth of milk pourment. The Federation has to adopt certain criteria to provide such welfare benefits to attract the lost member farmers, which will definitely help the Federation to achieve the very objectives of the welfare schemes.

Food safety is important due to new protection measurements applied in the growing world trade as much as the raise and continuity of life quality. In recent years, the countries have begun to face with important problems both in domestic consumption and exportation, because of the sensitivity of consumers on the safety of food products. Regarding this, in the dairy industry, which is an important sub sector of the food industry, the food safety issues has begun to gain importance in developing countries like the developed ones as a result of the world trade. Therefore the aim of this study can be stated as examining the food safety systems for dairy industry and comparing them withTurkey.

India has globally been the largest milk-producing country in the world for two decades. About 400 million litres of milk is produced every day. It is the responsibility of a dairy sector to look after the farmers by providing them with various services for their livelihood. The growing financial capital of the dairy industry has enticed various fraudulent behaviour. The majority of suspicious activities are seen during the collection at local collection centres, fake farmer entries, tempered quantity and fat entries manually, and adulteration are the profound malpractices exercised by farmers. So, in this research work, the authors present a profound study on the most popular machine learning methods applied to the problems of farmer churn prediction and fraud detection in the dairies. They applied a plethora of machine learning algorithms to get accurate results for churn and fraud detection. XGBoost Classifier was the best for churn prediction with 93% accuracy, while random forest classifier turns out to be effective for fraud detection with 94% accuracy.

Cow mastitis, with high incidence rate and complex cause of disease, is one of the main diseases that affect the development of dairy industry in the world. Clinical mastitis and subclinical mastitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, Streptococcus, and other pathogens have a huge potential safety hazard to food safety and the rapid development of animal husbandry. The economic loss caused by cow mastitis is billions of dollars every year in the world. In recent years, the omics technology has been widely used in animal husbandry with the continuous breakthrough of sequencing technology and the continuous reduction of sequencing cost. For dairy cow mastitis, the traditional diagnostic technique, such as histopathological screening, somatic cell count, milk pH test, milk conductivity test, enzyme activity test, and infrared thermography, are difficult to fully and comprehensively clarify its pathogenesis due to their own limitations. Metabolomics technology is an important part of system biology, which can simultaneously analyze all low molecular weight metabolites such as amino acids, lipids, carbohydrates under the action of complex factors including internal and external environment and in a specific physiological period accurately and efficiently, and then clarify the related metabolic pathways. Metabolomics, as the most downstream of gene expression, can amplify the small changes of gene and protein expression at the level of metabolites, which can more fully reflect the cell function. The application of metabolomics technology in cow mastitis can analyze the hetero metabolites, identify the related biomarkers, and reveal the physiological and pathological changes of cow mammary gland, so as to provide valuable reference for the prediction, diagnosis, and treatment of mastitis. The research progress of metabolomics technology in cow mastitis in recent years was reviewed, in order to provide guidance for the development of cow health and dairy industry safety in this manuscript.
