This paper shifts the perspective of the recent green paradox literature towards the demand side. Based on a simple model, I show that a subsidy on input factors in a Cobb-Douglas production functionmay contribute substantially to postponing resource extraction into the future and, thereby, to limit the future costs of climate change. Specifically, indirect subsidies on human capital, such as investments in education, are plausible policy options to mitigate carbon dioxide emissions because it is robust to short-sighted incentives on the part of politicians and resource owners.

The existence of a demographic transition that in the long run has an impact on the population explosion in the productive age and even the population trend shows a growing pattern of population growth in the productive age. It is feared that the number of people of productive age who are not absorbed in employment will eventually become unemployed. Unemployment of productive age will have an impact on the amount of educated unemployment. This study will analyze the demographic, human capital and economic factors behind educated unemployment in Sragen Regency in 2019, from the supply dan demand side. The data used is the raw data of the results of the National Labor Force Survey (SAKERNAS) in Agustus 2019 from the Statistics of Sragen Regency (BPS) with a sample of 602 respondents. The method used is logistic regression analysis. The results showed that the variables age, number of household members, gender, relationship with the head of the household, marital status, Diploma I / II, Diploma III, Diploma IV / S1 and S2 affect the probability of the educated workforce to be unemployed. Meanwhile, the domicile variable does not significantly affect the probability of the educated workforce being unemployed.

Despite the increased attachment of women to the labor force in nearly all developed countries, a stubborn gender pay gap remains. This chapter provides a review of the economics literature on the gender wage gap, with an emphasis on developed countries. We begin with an overview of the trends in the gender differences in wages and employment rates. We then review methods used to decompose the gender wage gap and the results from such decompositions. We discuss how trends and differences in the gender wage gap across countries can be understood in light of nonrandom selection and human capital differences. We then review the evidence on demand-side factors used to explain the existing gender wage gap and then discuss occupational segregation. The chapter concludes with suggestions for further research.

This chapter is focused on the concept of marketing orientation in universities through a literature review of the most relevant theoretical contributions, highlighting its definition, approaches and requisites. Marketing oriented universities are explored from both the demand side, presenting the debates on who the customers are, which are their real expectations and demands and how to identify them; and also from the supply side, presenting the main problems and the strategies to increase the value offered. Finally the chapter explains the main consequences that the successful application of marketing can provoke in stakeholders’ responses in terms of reputation, value or satisfaction, among other indicators. Consequences for the local and regional environments are also described regarding human capital, knowledge transfers, community services, etc.
