The article considers the socio-demographic situation in the Far Eastern region. The strategy of accelerated development of the Far Eastern Federal District is reviewed in the context of the governmental programs. The need to reorganize the urbanized environments is highlighted. The role of the spatial environment in the Far-Eastern cities as a means of resolving social problems is emphasized. A forecast of resettlement processes in Russia’s Far East is made from the perspective of the region’s sustainable economy development.

The article examines the theoretical and practical aspects of the development of financial intermediation in the context of sustainable economic development. Sustainable economic development has an impact on the life of the population and enterprises and leads to changes in their needs. Meeting the needs of the entire society is possible through the sustainable development of the financial market as a whole and its individual segments, including new areas of financial intermediation. Banks are considered one of the first financial intermediaries, but the steady development of the economy, accompanied by digitalization, leads to the emergence of new, alternative directions. One of them is crowdfunding. For credit institutions, crowdfunding is an opportunity to diversify their business, reduce lending risks, and expand their customer base. The article presents the dynamics of crowdfunding development in the Russian Federation and presents a comparative analysis of the main financial indicators of the largest Russian banks and crowdfunding platforms.The conclusion is made about the role of banks and alternative financing methods in a sustainable economy and their positive impact on the development of the real sector of the economy.

A crisis is an essential attribute of a functioning system. Growth of consumption and production underlying it has its logical continuation in a recession that provokes socio-economic, ethical and political problems. The further development of a system within the frameworks of the present value paradigm gives birth to a threat of a global ecological disaster. The sustainable development concept, offered as an alternative, is capable of solving emergent problems of civilization. However, the development of green technologies and introduction of environmentally sustainable economy are insufficient when there is no public consciousness relevant to sustainable development.

AbstractGreen Public Procurement is currently a voluntary instrument to promote Sustainable Consumption and Production and Sustainable Industrial Policy. Surveys in this field help to understand how individual States, Public Authorities and Organizations, are approaching this voluntary instrument and thus how far they support Eco-Innovations and Sustainable Economy. Our survey focuses on mapping of units of local self-governments in the Slovak Republic that carried out Green Public Procurement in the category of paper products through the Electronic Contracting System (ECS) in 2017. We consider local self-government units to be major consumers of paper products, especially because of their extensive administration, what makes them a target group to promote the use of Green Public Procurement in a given category in practice. The total number of contracts awarded through the ECS in 2017 was 471. As the results show, the share of Green Public Procurements in the total number of Public Procurements in the Slovak Republic in 2017 was not satisfactory. In order to improve the situation, it is necessary to further deepen the targeted dissemination of examples of good practice in Green Public Procurement.
