Abstract Records indicate that during the French colonial period, Jesuits established four mission congregations within the territory now known as Vermont. These missions were established to preach to both French colonists and Native converts on Isle La Motte, on the Missisquoi River in Swanton, at Fort Saint-Frédéric on Lake Champlain, and in the area known as the Koas on the Connecticut River. In the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, the Abenaki peoples of Vermont have had a long and difficult road to gain state and federal recognition. These descendant communities have invoked the existence of Jesuit missions to the Abenaki as proof of the current tribal governments’ legitimacy. This is intriguing considering the blame for cultural destruction is often laid at the feet of Jesuit missionaries. This paper examines the relationship between historical and archaeological evidence of French Jesuits and the legal legitimization of the Abenaki of Vermont.

Venturing into an ethnography of government anthropologists themselves, this article interrogates the bureaucratic inner workings and actual agents of today's “ethnographic state." By engaging with the civil servants who verify India's Scheduled Tribes, I explore the politics of “tribal“ recognition from the inside out. This perspective lends timely insight into the logistical, political, and epistemological difficulties integral to the functioning-and current crisis-of India's affirmative action system. Weighing the demands of “tribal“ recognition through those that arguably know them best-government anthropologists themselves- this study examines the human dimension (and dilemmas) of the Indian state and its affirmative action system for Scheduled Tribes.

Broad-nosed weevils in the subfamily Entiminae (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) are highly diverse, not only in terms of number of species, but also in their sizes, forms and colours. There are eight tribes, 50 genera and 224 entimine species recorded from Colombia: seven genera and 142 species are considered endemic and only a handful of species, which are recognised as pests of Citrus or potatoes, are broadly known. The large diversity of this subfamily in the country is only superficially known and even though genus level identifications are generally achievable, species identification remains quite challenging, due in part to limited access to broadly-scattered basic information. Summaries of available information and bibliographic resources for each of the tribes represented in Colombia are offered, along with a checklist of the species of Entiminae recorded from the country, obtained from literature and a pictorial key for tribal recognition. New combinations are proposed for eight species of the genus Lanterius Alonso-Zarazaga & Lyal. Information on the distribution of entimine species in Colombia is compiled for the first time, including complete references to each original description and available taxonomic revisions. About a third of the species of Entiminae remain as recorded from the country without specific locality information. In addition, genus level distributional maps are presented, generated from data obtained from four Colombian entomological collections. Lastly, some challenges for entimine identification in Colombia, which likely extend throughout the Neotropical region, are briefly discussed. This contribution aims, in part, to facilitate and promote entimine research in northern South America.

Abstrak— siswa merasa kurang termotivasi untuk mempelajari pembelajaran PPKn pengenalan suku dan budaya indonesia. oleh sebab itu peneliti merasa sangat perlu untuk mengembangkan sebuah media pembelajaran yang dapat membantu proses pembelajaran pengenalan suku budaya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan sebuah media pembelajaran pengenalan suku budaya indonesia berbasis video pembelajaran, Adapun tujuan dari pengembangan aplikasi ini adalah untuk membantu siswa dalam mempelajari keberagaman dan suku budaya indonesia. Pengembangan media pembelajaran pengenalan suku budaya ini menggunakan model ADDIE. Pengembangan produk dengan model ini dapat menghasilkan produk yang baik, karena pada setiap fase yang dilalui dapat dilakukan evaluasi.  Beberapa pengujian dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat keefektifan media pembelajaran pengenalan suku budaya indonesia yang di antaranya ialah uji ahli isi dengan hasil 100% sesuai, uji ahli media dengan representasi 100% sesuai, uji efektifitas dengan hasil 64,80% yang  berarti media ini cukup efektif, uji guru dengan hasil 46 dengan kategori sangat positif dan uji respon pengguna dengan hasil sebesar 89,07% yang menandakan media ini masuk kategori sangat positif.  Kata Kunci : pembelajaran PPKn, ADDIE, media pembelajaranAbstract— students feel less motivated to learn about PPKn learning about the introduction of Indonesian tribes and cultures. therefore researchers feel it is very necessary to develop a learning media that can help the process of learning ethnic cultural introduction. The purpose of this research is to develop a learning media for Indonesian culture of tribal recognition based on learning videos. The purpose of developing this application is to help students learn about diversity and ethnic Indonesian culture. The development of learning media for introducing ethnic culture uses the ADDIE model. Product development with this model can produce good products, because each phase can be evaluated. Some tests were carried out to determine the effectiveness of Indonesian culture of tribal recognition learning media, which included the content expert test with 100% appropriate results, expert media testing with 100% appropriate representation, effectiveness test with a result of 64.80% which means that the media is quite effective. test the teacher with the results of 46 with a very positive category and test the response of the user with a result of 89.07% which indicates that this media is in a very positive category. Keywords: PPKn learning, ADDIE, learning media

This article, based on a study conducted in a tea plantation of Upper Assam, documents and analyses the struggle for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status by the Adivasis in Assam, which is linked to a larger demand for indigeneity and tribal recognition in the state and in the Northeast. It examines the nature of this struggle in recent times through both its contestations of indigeneity and claims upon citizenship by drawing on personal narratives and interviews with activists and workers of Adivasi students’ organisations and tea workers’ unions who have been in the forefront of this struggle.
