MOOCs are student-friendly, a great addition to the field of distance education as it no longer needs pre requisites for enrollment in a course, have no age bar, and have no heavy financial constraints (while some charge a minimum amount for award of certification and other requirements). Various institutions across the world compile video lectures, formulate assignments, quizzes, lecture notes, presentations, demonstrations, etc. and upload all the content on MOOC platform accessible globally through the world wide web. The opportunity that MOOCs offer for the massification of courses has generated significant interest from governments, institutions, and commercial organizations. In this context, the article focuses on the various MOOCs initiatives like SWAYAM in India and gain a deeper insight in the course diversity, content types and formats provided. Besides, the study shall make an endeavor to understand the innovations and future plans of major promoters of MOOCs in India.

The composition of the cardiac arrest team varies widely both throughout the UK and the world. There are no agreed standards regarding the composition of the resuscitation team, and variety in teams is often dictated by availability of staff and financial constraints. This article discusses the evidence for and against the inclusion of critical care doctors on the cardiac arrest call team.

The rapid development of CNC machine technology, often makes the inequality ofknowledge between the world of vocational education (SMK) and the world of industry.Along with the development of computer technology is so fast, now born as CNCmachines with the latest generation Mitsubishi-based, Fanuc-based, or GSK-basedoperating system. Meanwhile in the world of education is still using EMCO-based. Noteasy for SMK to follow developments. Financial constraints is one of classic factors. This study tries to deal with this inequality without being affected by financialconstraints, namely by replacing the engine-based laboratory with a simulator-basedlaboratory. To test whether this simulator is able to overcome inequality, then thetreatment of the two groups were paired consisting of teachers and students. By testingthe hypothesis Ho: μ1-μ2 = 0, and by using a Likert index analysis known that the CNCsimulator is able to replace the actual existence of a CNC machine. It mean thatinequality can be solved immediately. Keywords: inequality, CNC machining , vocational education, CNC simulator

In the real business world, player sometimes would offer a limiter to their output due to capacity constraints, financial constraints, or cautious response to uncertainty in the world. In this paper, we modify a duopoly game with bounded rationality by imposing lower limiters on output. Within our model, we analyze how lower limiters have an effect on dynamics of output and give proof in theory why adding lower limiters can suppress chaos. We also explore the numbers of the equilibrium points and the distribution of conditioned equilibrium points. Stable region of the conditioned equilibrium is discussed. Numerical experiments show that the output evolution system having lower limiters becomes more robust than without them, and chaos disappears if the lower limiters are big enough. The local or global stability of the conditional equilibrium points provides a theoretical basis for the limiter control method of chaos in economic systems.

We propose a framework for understanding episodes of vigorous economic expansion and extreme asset valuations. We interpret this phenomenon as a high-valuation equilibrium with a low cost of capital based on optimism about future funding. The key ingredient for such equilibrium is feedback from increased growth to a decline in the long-run cost of capital. This feedback arises when an expansion comes with technological progress in the capital sector, when fiscal rules generate procyclical fiscal surpluses, when the rest of the world has lower expansion potential or high saving needs, and when financial constraints are relaxed by the expansion itself.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to examine the effect of controlling shareholders’ ownership of firms on the firms’ financial constraints in 22 economies for the 1982-2009 period. Design/methodology/approach The authors employ a generalized method of moments-based instrumental variables estimator to estimate empirical models. Findings It found that the overinvestment propensity of controlling shareholders becomes less severe with an increase in cash-flow rights. It further indicates that a higher deviation between the control rights and cash-flow rights of controlling shareholders lower their overinvestment propensity, thereby lowering the firm’s financial constraints. Originality/value The results suggest that a higher protective legal environment for minority shareholders blocks the entrenchment of controlling shareholders and thus benefitting the firm with slackened financing constraints in the given legal origin.

Delhi is one of the most water stressed cities in the world. This study aimed to explore the potential of Rainwater Harvesting (RWH) as an alternative source of the water supply for Delhi. Mass curve method has been used to understand the feasibility of RWH, indicating that an average roof of 60 m2 in Delhi will collect 3,64,800 L of water in a year for an average family size of five people. The present study assumed that financial constraints, erratic rainfall, unclear legal guidelines, poor public perception, and a lack of commitment from the politicians are possible challenges.

Purpose: Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are considered as the engine of economic growth throughout the world. To cope with the challenges of technological advancement and globalization, SMEs need to be conversant with internet-based technology. This study aimed at identifying the level of technology adoption by the SMEs of Khulna city, attitudes of SME owners towards e-technology, and major impediments in such technology adoption. Methodology: Opinion of 100 conveniently selected sample of SME owners were collected and analyzed using percentage, mean, factor analysis, regression analysis etc. to reach 10 study findings. Findings: The level of e-technology adoption was found to be very low among the SMEs and the SME owner’s attitude toward such technology adoption were also negative in most cases. Among the major impediments, inadequate proficiency of SME owners, less supportive external agents, legal and security barriers, lack of knowledge, insufficient network structure, and financial constraints were found to influence the low rate of e-technology adoption by SMEs in Khulna city.

In tandem with the development of technology, economy, and globalization, the number of women entrepreneurs has shown an increase and they have become as good as male entrepreneurs. As the Malay saying goes “the hand that rock the cradle is able to shake the world”. This particular saying has strongly proven that women entrepreneurs' current abilities and achievements. However, the financial constraints have slightly affected the business of the women entrepreneurs as some of them do not possess adequate capital. The distributed financial funds could not suffice their business needs. This issue has led the women entrepreneurs to the using of Ar-Rahnu facilities as an alternative to be obtaining financial funds. Hence, this concept paper was to identify the factors that affecting the usage of the Ar-Rahnu scheme among women entrepreneurs. The attitude, customer service, and location of Ar-Rahnu operators are the main factors focused on the use of the Ar-Rahnu scheme among the women entrepreneurs.
