The article aims to study the specificities of an individually differentiated approach in the formation of speech generalization semantics and communicative competence in older preschool children. The main approach to the study of this problem is the analysis of theoretical and methodological approaches in the study of an individually differentiated approach to the linguistic competence of preschool children, which allows us to identify the most effective ones.  The article focuses on the concepts of individualization and differentiation in the development of the semantic aspect of speech and communicative competence, taking into account the individual psychological characteristics of the children. It is concluded that an individually differentiated approach increases the effectiveness of measures to form linguistic competence in the system of semantics of generalization of discourse. The materials of the article can be useful for speech therapists, specialists in preschool institutions that work in the area of speech development for older preschoolers, as well as for teachers in search of effective technologies for the formation of language skills.

The main periods and factors influencing the formation of the child's personality are described. These include the main activities of a preschooler – play, work, creative work, educational activities. Such concepts as speech, folklore, literature, music, visual activity, theatrical events that influence the development and formation of stable psychological characteristics of a child's personality are substantiated.

Background: Females contribute to 48.5% of population of India. Shouldering dual responsibilities of house and work can eventually take toll on women’s physical and mental health. The work and family commitments are likely to be influenced by parity, duration of breastfeeding, work environment and social support. This study is conducted to assess the stress levels among working professional mothers and their associated risk factors.Methods: It was a cross sectional study conducted in working professional mothers of India. Data was collected using structured questionnaire and perceived stress scale (PSS-4) for assessing stress. The form was made available on internet so as to approach wide spectrum of professionally working mothers.Results: Moderate to severe stress was perceived by 63.04% women. Severity of stress increases with shift duties (p=0.05), lack of family support (p=0.08) and inability to exclusively breastfeed child for 6 months (p=0.09). Only 1/3rd (31.88%) working mothers could exclusively breastfeed their child for 6 months. Exclusive breastfeeding was more observed in mothers with higher socio-economic status (OR=2.39) and also among those who had shift duties (OR=5.23).Conclusions: In spite of family support for childrearing, most of the professional working mothers are experiencing perceived stress. Work environment flexibility and efficient social support to reduce stress is recommended.

The purpose of the study was to apply latent transition analysis to the work-family balance of working mothers with a child in elementary school by focusing on the effect of antecedents on both work-family balance typology and the transition between typologies. Data from 400 working mothers who participated in the eighth and eleventh waves of the Panel Study on Korean Children were used. The results can be summarized as follows. First, the latent profile analysis of working mothers whose children were in the first grade classified the work-family balance types as ‘contradictory’ or ‘beneficial’ and of working mothers whose children were in the fourth grade as ‘conflictual’, ‘contradictory’, ‘high beneficial’, ‘low beneficial’ or ‘beneficial’. Second, working mothers whose work-family balance was ‘contradictory’ or ‘beneficial’ when their children were in the first grade mostly had, respectively, a ‘low beneficial’ or a ‘high beneficial’ balance when their children were in the fourth grade. Third, the probability of being classified into each type differed according to subjective happiness and marital conflict in the first grade, and marital conflict and social support in the fourth grade. Moreover, marital conflict and social support were significant in the transition between the types of work-family balance. The study showed that the types of work-family balance differed for each time point for individual working mothers. The study also highlighted the importance of parenting-related personal, family and social factors in determining the work-family balance type and transition between types.

Working mothers who just had their first child face major changes in aspects of their life. Workingmothers have two roles that must be fulfilled in their daily life, being a mother and a worker. Thedemands of these roles often create pressures that cause conflict within the mother herself.Conflicts that occur within herself are called intrapersonal conflicts. This study aims to overviewintrapersonal conflicts and perceived social support in mothers who return to work after havingtheir first child. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with semi-structuredinterview methods involving two participants who work professionally and have their first childaged 0-18 months. The results of this study indicate that there is an intrapersonal conflict in theroles of mother and worker. The type of conflict that arose in the two participants was the type ofmultiple/double approach-avoidance conflict in which the two alternative choices, working andcaring for children, both had negative and positive values for the participants. Both participantsstated that the existence of social support from people around them, can help participants dealwith intrapersonal conflicts when they have to work leaving their children.

Physical activity during early childhood is a prerequisite for healthy development in many cases. The aim of this study was to assess the relationships of social modelling and support from parents, peers, and siblings and domain-specific physical activity participation in a nationwide sample of preschool boys and girls from Germany. 519 preschool children aged 4–6 and one of their parents participated in the ‘MoMo’ Wave 1 Study between 2009 and 2012. Participants and their parents provided self-reported data on social support modelling, and domain-specific physical activity participation (physical activity in sports clubs, physical activity outside of sports clubs, and outdoor play). Parental, peer, and sibling support and modelling were related to domain-specific physical activity: Parental support was particularly relevant for physical activity in sports clubs, and peer support for outdoor play. Parental modelling was only related to physical activity outside of sports clubs: Maternal modelling was a positive correlate in girls and paternal modelling in boys, respectively. Sibling and peer modelling were especially relevant for physical activity in sports clubs. The results were heterogeneous regarding types and providers of support and modelling. Thus, different providers and types of support should be targeted in physical activity promotion programs for preschool children.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to provide an exploratory understanding of the impact of social support on job stress of shift working mothers in Macao casinos.Design/methodology/approachA qualitative research method was adopted in this study. A snowball sampling strategy was used to recruit participants, and in-depth semi-structured interviews were conducted on participants from different casinos of six Macao gaming operators.FindingsThe paper found out that emotional and instrumental supports from families and friends are the most important social support for shift working mothers to cope with their job stress in casinos.Research limitations/implicationsA qualitative method may lead to a misinterpretation or ignorance of key information due to the researcher bias. The snowball sampling strategy may lead to a biased sample which may not represent the entire population.Originality/valueThe understanding of what types of social support that shift working mothers appreciate and need the most may provide managerial implications for casino operators for a better support to their female employees.

This study examined the effect of fathers’ perceptions of fatherhood through online meetings with fathers who have preschool children between 3-6 years of age. A total of 42 fathers (21 fathers in the experimental group and 21 fathers in the control group) took part in the study. The research design with a pretest and posttest control group was used in the research. The “Fatherhood Role Perception Scale” developed by Kuzucu (1999) was used for data collection. Within the scope of the research, online fathers meet-up training was held for the experimental group once a week throughout 11 weeks. The data were analysed using the Mann Whitney U and Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test (nonparametric tests). According to the data obtained in the research, it was concluded that the online fathers’ meet-up training was significantly effective on fathers’ perceptions of the fatherhood role. The study’s findings were discussed, and suggestions were listed for future studies in the relevant literature.
