Summary The Eye Tribe eye-tracker was used to capture pupil sizes and fixation times of 40 people aged 8 to 79 years during text reading. The dependence of the number of readable lines on the participants’ age was determined. A function describing the dependence of the eye surface area on age was also derived. Visual perception of the maximum number of consecutive lines with decreasing text font size is best for people aged 30–40. For the studied age group, the pupil area decreased with age by approximately 300%. An approximately two-fold increase in average fixation times was recorded.

In the present study of Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites (AMMCs), specifically speaking, in our case Al-SiC-graphite have been discussed on the basis of literature review, comprising of similar characteristics of base aluminum alloy but not completely identical. Aluminum metal matrix composites have different properties when compared with Cast Iron and Aluminum. This difference in properties gives us a chance to design components which may give better results than the conventional ones. In a new approach, we are trying to develop new components for 4 Stroke Petrol Engine namely piston & connecting rod, which would have better Tensile Strength, Young’s Modulus & Low Thermal Conductivity as compared to the pure Aluminum. Government of Maharashtra empaneled Technology and Development Cell (TDSC) as third-party evaluator in all district to improve Rural Water Supply Schemes (RWSS) for improving sustainability, efficiency and equitability of these schemes. The objective of the paper is to investigate and design of rural water supply scheme. The investigation was carried out during 2018-19 in Vadoli-Nileshwar village. Investigation was completed in three stages out of that first stage is to collect document related to scheme like detailed project report, second stage is to verify all documents in scheme and third stage is to verify physical assets of scheme like source well, raising main, storage reservoir and distribution network. Investigation was notified that Vadoli –Nileshwar water supply scheme is completed in 1981, scheme is designed for 2900 peoples with daily demand 40 lit/person/day. But due to increasing population, increasing daily demand and newly developed area water supply is insufficient. For solving this problem, scheme is redesigned in which raising main, storage reservoir, pumping machinery and distribution network is designed for 3700 peoples with daily demand of 115lit/person/day and 12 supplying hours. Scheme was designed by ‘Jaltantra’ software. It is expected that, if this revised design is considered, the problem of water availability to consumers will be solved. Spacing. The principles of tandem scanning reflected light microscopy and the design of recent instruments are fully described elsewhere and here only briefly. The illuminating light is intercepted by a rotating aperture disc which lies in the intermediate focal plane of a standard LM objective. This device provides an array of separate scanning beams which light up corresponding patches in the plane of focus more intensely than out of focus layers. Reflected light from these patches is imaged on to a matching array of apertures on the opposite side of the same aperture disc and which are scanning in the focal plane of the eyepiece. An arrangement of mirrors converts the central symmetry of the disc into congruency, so that the array of apertures which chop the illuminating beam is identical with the array on the observation side. Thus both illumination and “detection” are scanned in tandem, giving rise to the name Tandem Scanning Microscope (TSM). The apertures are arranged on Archimedean spirals: each opposed pair scans a single line in the image.

Predictive inferences are anticipations of what could happen next in the text we are reading. These inferences seem to be activated during reading, but a delay is necessary for their construction. To determine the length of this delay, we first used a classical word-naming task. In the second experiment, we used a Stroop-like task to verify that inference activation was not due to strategies applied during the naming task. The results show that predictive inferences are naturally activated during text reading, after approximately 1 s.
