Garment industry can be considered as the sprinter of the economy in Bangladesh for its significant contribution to the economy. Demand for Bangladeshi garments products are increasing so are the competitions. The garment industry, to keep pace with the increasing competition, needs to adopt Information System (IS) in business functions that help ensure cost management effectively in the labor-intensive garments factory.  However, very few garments factories have adopted IS in their operations. This paper tried to identify the factors inhibiting the adoption of HRIS in the garments industry of Bangladesh through a semi-structured questionnaire survey of 150 samples from 25 garment factories in Bangladesh.  We have used Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) method to identify the factors impeding to adopt HRIS in garments sector of Bangladesh. From the study, we have identified three broad inhibiting factors termed as Financial, Management related, and Organizational; specifically, High investment, Costly maintenance, Long-term benefit, Organizational Structure, Culture of the Organization, Top management support, lack of experts and user, are found as major barriers in this regard. The findings may be useful to both the academicians to explore the factors in their respective countries and the HRIS practitioners in garment sector to emphasize on these areas so that organizations can ensure better HRIS implementation.

Abstract Due to improvements in screening, diagnosis, and treatment, more cancer patients are surviving and living longer. For them, survivorship care provides critical support: surveillance and screening for recurrence and new cancers; physical and psychological symptom management; social and financial management support; management of other chronic conditions; and preventive health and health promotion support. Yet, our pilot data indicates that a substantial number of survivors discontinue their survivorship care with the treating oncology team, a team that often provides critical multidisciplinary support and expertise. While it is important to understand the experiences, outcomes, and needs of these survivors, they can be challenging to engage in research. In this presentation, we will discuss survivors who discontinue, why they might do so, and methods for engaging them in research, drawing upon our work with head and neck cancer survivors.

The study employs descriptive statistics to both assess IFMIS effectiveness and the effect of information and communications technology (ICT) competency in IFMIS implementation. Moreover, multiple regression analysis is used to determine the extent of top management support on IFMIS implementation success. The findings reveal that IFMIS is an effective tool in public financial management; however, the lack of ICT competency and top management support systems are the major factors required for a successful implementation of IFMIS.
