AbstractProper treatment of prostate cancer is essential to increase the survival chance. In this sense, numerous studies show how important the communication between all stakeholders in the clinic is. This communication is difficult because of the lack of conventions while referring to the location where a biopsy for diagnosis was taken. This becomes even more challenging taking into account that experts of different fields work on the data and have different requirements. In this paper a web-based communication tool is proposed that incorporates a visualization of the prostate divided into 27 segments according to the PI-RADS protocol. The tool provides 2 working modes that consider the requirements of radiologist and pathologist while keeping it consistent. The tool comprises all relevant information given by pathologists and radiologists, such as, severity grades of the disease or tumor length. Everything is visualized using a colour code for better undestanding.

In recent years, many tools have been developed to understand attacks that make use of visualization, but few examples aims to predict real-world consequences. We have developed a visualization tool that aims to improve decision support during attacks. Our tool visualizes propagation of risks from IDS and AV-alert data by relating sensor alerts to Business Process (BP) tasks and machine assets: an important capability gap present in many Security Operation Centres (SOCs) today. In this paper we present a user study in which we evaluate the tool's usability and ability to deliver situational awareness to the analyst. Ten analysts from seven SOCs performed carefully designed tasks related to understanding risks and prioritising recovery decisions. The study was conducted in laboratory conditions, with simulated attacks, and used a mixed-method approach to collect data from questionnaires, eyetracking and voice-recorded interviews. The findings suggest that providing analysts with situational awareness relating to business priorities can help them prioritise response strategies. Finally, we provide an in-depth discussion on the wider questions related to user studies in similar conditions as well as lessons learned from our user study and developing a visualization tool of this type.

Improving WeeFIM score completion rates: An interdisciplinary inpatient rehabilitation unit quality improvement project

PURPOSE: The WeeFIM is a tool commonly used in pediatric rehabilitation settings to measure objective patient progress while receiving comprehensive therapy services on inpatient rehabilitation units. This Quality Improvement (QI) project aimed for 95%of inpatients to have complete, on-time documented and displayed WeeFIM scores upon admission and discharge by 12/2017. METHODS: An interdisciplinary team examined historic WeeFIM completion rates. Using Plan-Do-Study-Act cycles, a unified flowsheet was developed in the electronic health record (EHR) to revamp workflow and identify opportunities for improvement, data accuracy, and finally sustainability. Progress was monitored in real time via an automated data visualization tool which monitored score timeliness and completeness. RESULTS: On-time admission completion rates increased from 0%to 95%during the intervention period. On-time discharge completion rates increased from 0%to 89%during the intervention period. This change has been sustained over 2 years with on-time admission and discharge scores averaging 79.4%and 77.9%respectively, and 96.4%of scores completed. CONCLUSION: Changes in the completion rate of WeeFIMs are sustainable, evidenced by ongoing maintenance of our initial gains over the course of multiple months. The incorporation of WeeFIM documentation into the workflow increased on-time and completion rates. The success of this project shows that integrating new tasks into provider workflows helps drive completion.

A real space understanding of the Su–Schrieffer–Heeger model of polyacetylene is introduced thanks to delocalization indices defined within the quantum theory of atoms in molecules. This approach enables to go beyond the analysis of electron localization usually enabled by topological insulator indices—such as IPR—enabling to differentiate between trivial and topological insulator phases. The approach is based on analyzing the electron delocalization between second neighbors, thus highlighting the relevance of the sublattices induced by chiral symmetry. Moreover, the second neighbor delocalization index, δi,i+2, also enables to identify the presence of chirality and when it is broken by doping or by eliminating atom pairs (as in the case of odd number of atoms chains). Hints to identify bulk behavior thanks to δ1,3 are also provided. Overall, we present a very simple, orbital invariant visualization tool that should help the analysis of chirality (independently of the crystallinity of the system) as well as spreading the concepts of topological behavior thanks to its relationship with well-known chemical concepts.
