In line with the advancement of hardware technology and increasing consumer demands for new functionalities and innovations, software applications grew tremendously in term of size over the last decade. This sudden increase in size has a profound impact as far as testing is concerned. Here, more and more unwanted interactions among software systems components, hardware, and operating system are to be expected, rendering increased possibility of faults. To address this issue, many useful interaction-based testing techniques (termed t-way strategies) have been developed in the literature. As an effort to promote awareness and encourage its usage, this chapter surveys the current state-of-the-art and reviews the state-of-practices in the field. In particular, unlike earlier work, this chapter also highlights the different possible adoptions of t-way strategies including uniform interaction, variable strength interaction, and input-output-based relation, that is, to help test engineers make informed decision on the actual use of t-way strategies.

Subsumption control architecture is an control architecture based on parallel system. Input of information of sensors is directly connected through modules in the control system, and further the decision making is connected to actuators. Automated Guided Vehicle or AGV is an automated component within integrated manufacturing system. In this article, this control architecture will be designed and implemented to an AGV. Commands are designed based on Object-Oriented technology. The commands are arranged in subsumption, where a command higher subsumed other command of its lower level. GPFO (Greater Priority First Out) technique is implemed for executing the commands by using multi-threading. Experimentation is performed to have the characteristics of commands being executed. This work introduce our effort to design an operating system for an AGV.

The scientists as Bateson, Watzlawick expresses the determining role of interaction in the axiom of the “impossibility of not communicating”. All behavior (verbal and nonverbal) occurring between persons who are conscious of each other's presence has behavioural effects, whether intended or not. Such effects have interpersonal message value, and thus are communicative in nature. Since it is impossible for humans not to behave in one way or another, it follows that in interaction it is impossible not to communicate (Bateson, 1963; Watzlawick et al., 1967). Communication theory is relatively new as science and interacts with the other disciplines of sciences. During its development some of the notions were used that were already committed and comprehensive. This article aims to present some of them. Terms as system, input, output, feedback, entropy specific to scientific disciplines as systems theory, cybernetics, information theory, physics, are especially used in communication theory.

CPU Scheduler is one of the crucial modules of any operating system. Operating system uses CPU schedulers based on the requirements. Fair Share CPU scheduler is preferable scheduler by many operating systems. It distributes fixed processor time amongst different parts of a system like groups, users etc. Fixed distribution of processor time can distress the performance of system. Moreover, traditional CPU schedulers ignore the impreciseness and uncertainty of the tasks. This work presents the Intuitionistic Fuzzy based Fair Share scheduler (IFFS). IFFS scheduler has extended the research in the field of the impreciseness of tasks. Intuitionistic Fuzzy Inference Systems, IFIS-DP and IFIS-DCS have been designed to share the CPU time dynamically and for assigning dynamic priority to each task. Experimental results prove the better performance of IFFS scheduler over FS scheduler.

With the rapid development of mobile technology, the mobile phones has gradually become an indispensable part in everybody’s life, and it is replacing the computer’s position step by step. The iPhone is a smart phone made of Apple Company, which opens a new era of software for mobile devices. At the same time, iOS(iPhone’s operating system) has become one of most competitive mobile communications operating systems. The Apple’s protection for security makes the iPhone owners hardly control their phone through the root (highest authority). It is so difficult to manage the information effetely with iPhone, such as contacts’ information or SMS. The paper introduced two approaches to get the contacts’ information in iPhone and restore them with vCard. At last, we managed the output file on MAC.
