The circulating fluidized bed boiler (CFB) power unit with its energy-saving and environmental protection has broad application prospects, but the problem of CFB unit automatic control has not been solved satisfied, so automatic generation control (AGC) can not be stabilized input. Through the improvement of the unit automatic control strategy by the method of intelligent predictive multivariable decoupling control and optimization of parameters, the AGC tests achieved approving results in CFB unit.

By the design of the visualization system of the LPG shuttle kiln, the friendly man-machine interface is achieved, which is helpful for the change, expansion and upgrade of the system. It is studied that the general schemes of the visualization automatic control system of the LPG shuttle kiln in this article. The choice of the hardware devices, especially the system nucleus units including temperature transducer, A/D or D/A intelligent module, RS232/485 converter, relay, actuator, etc, and the connection and control strategy of the hardware of the control system, is analyzed emphatically. A/D or D/A intelligence module, RS232/485 converter, relay, actuator, the joint and control strategy of the hardware of the control system, etc. With the widely application of the intelligence control system, the foreground of the visualization system of the shuttle kiln will be better and better.

It has previously been demonstrated that collision between two identical risers in a tandem arrangement can be prevented by controlling the payout of the heave compensators. A control strategy based on “equal effective length” will in an effective way cause the two risers to respond dynamically in parallel. This effect might, however, be more difficult to obtain if the two risers are different with respect to diameter, weight and tension. In this paper a system consisting of a tension leg platform (TLP) and two different risers is presented. The control strategy previously applied to two identical risers has been used in this case as well. Slowly varying and wave frequency surge motions are introduced in order to create dynamic response that normally would lead to collision between the risers. From this study it can be concluded that the control strategy previously applied for identical risers in tandem will also be effective for risers with significantly different design parameters such as diameter, top tension and effective weight.

The new integrated traffic-responsive urban corridor control strategy IN-TUC (integrated traffic-responsive urban control) is presented. IN-TUC was developed and applied to the M8 corridor network in Glasgow, Scotland, within the European Telematics Applications in Transport project Telematics Applications in Bavaria, Scotland, and Others. The aim of the strategy, which is built on the well-known methods of the automatic control and optimization theories, is to provide, at suitably defined constant control intervals, traffic-responsive settings for the various control elements included in a corridor network area. The results of the preliminary simulation investigations as well as the results of the field implementation and evaluation of the strategy seem promising both for the particular site and for integrated corridor control systems in general.
