Abstract This paper novel designed the local convergence configuration in the coaxial channels to study the two-phase flow (lubricating oil (continuous phase, flow rate Q c)/deionized water (dispersed phase, flow rate Q d)). Two geometric control variables, the relative position (x) and tapering characteristics (α), had the different effects on the droplet formation. The increase of relative position x caused the higher frequency and finer droplets, and the increase of convergence angle α, took the opposite effects. The results indicated that the equivalent dimensionless droplet length Ld/Wout and the flow rate ratio Qd/Qc had an exponential relationship of about 1/2. Similarly, it was found that the dispersed droplets generating frequency and the two-phase capillary number, CaTP = uTPμc/σ, had an exponential relationship. The advantage of the convergent configurations in micro-channel was the size and efficiency of droplet generation was very favorable to be controlled by α and x.

For Marine pressurization boiler dynamic system, when the boiler provide steam for air storage, boiler drum pressure and steam pressure will have produced a wave phenomenon; In order to research this a wave phenomenon, considering similar principles , establish the model experiments to simulate the wave process. Due to boiler provide steam for air storage that involves in many complex physical processes, including two phase flow, heat transfer, braising physical phenomena. By a simple analysis, to be completely similar to the model, model must be the same as the real situation; it will lose the small model experimental significance. According to this problem, we consider use approximate modeling method which usually used in engineering, seize the pressure fluctuations of the main contradictions; Put forward in the process of considering only reflect pressure fluctuations of local fluid dynamic field project of similar approximation, Finally we get the fluctuation relationship of the actual conditions and small model experiment of main steam pressure.

The North Rankin gas field discovered in 1971, has been evaluated by a series of appraisal wells and refinement of this is underway through the use of a 3D seismic survey. Extensive production testing on two wells was used to establish reservoir fluid characteristics, inflow performance and to predict reservoir behaviour. The North Rankin 'A' platform has been constructed of a standard steel jacket design. Components of the structure were built in Japan, Singapore, Geraldton, Jervoise Bay and Adelaide. Provision exists for 34 wells to be drilled from the structure to exploit the southern end of the North Rankin field.Simultaneous drilling and producing activities are planned, requiring well survey and deviation control techniques that will provide a high level of confidence. Wells will be completed using 7 inch tubing, fire resistant christmas trees, and are designed to be produced at about 87 MMSCFD on a continuous basis. Process equipment on this platform is designed to handle 1200 MMSCFD and is intended primarily to dry the gas and condensate and to transfer gas and liquid to shore in a two phase 40 inch pipeline. The maintenance of offshore equipment is being planned to maximise the ratio between planned and unplanned work. The commencement of drilling activities is planned for mid 1983, with commissioning of process equipment occurring in the second quarter of 198 The North Rankin 'A' platform will initially supply the WA market at some 400 MMSCFD offshore gas rate, requiring 7 wells. The start of LNG exports is planned for April 1987. The intial gas for this will be derived from the North Rankin 'A' platform.
