The utility of benthic foraminifera in bathymetric interpretation of clastic depositional environments is well established. In contrast, bathymetric distribution of benthic foraminifera in deep-water carbonate environments has been largely neglected. Approximately 260 species and morphotypes of benthic foraminifera were identified from 12 piston core tops and grab samples collected along two traverses 25 km apart across the northern windward margin of Little Bahama Bank at depths of 275-1,135 m. Certain species and operational taxonomic groups of benthic foraminifera correspond to major near-surface sedimentary facies of the windward margin of Little Bahama Bank and serve as reliable depth indicators. Globocassidulina subglobosa, Cibicides rugosus, and Cibicides wuellerstorfi are all reliable depth indicators, being most abundant at depths >1,000 m, and are found in lower slope periplatform aprons, which are primarily comprised of sediment gravity flows. Reef-dwelling peneroplids and soritids (suborder Miliolina) and rotaliines (suborder Rotaliina) are most abundant at depths <300 m, reflecting downslope bottom transport in proximity to bank-margin reefs. Small miliolines, rosalinids, and discorbids are abundant in periplatform ooze at depths <300 m and are winnowed from the carbonate platform. Increased variation in assemblage diversity below 900 m reflects mixing of shallow- and deep-water species by sediment gravity flows.

Subject. This article discusses the effectiveness of government programmes to support renewable energy and whether they should continue to be implemented. Objectives. The article aims to conduct a comprehensive analysis of the changes in solar and wind power projects under the State support programme within the period from 2014 to 2019 and assess the effectiveness of the acting incentive mechanisms. Methods. For the study, I used the Learning-by-Doing theory and Project Management principles and methods. Results. The article proposes to consider the local content of the projects implemented as the key effectiveness indicator of the renewable energy support programme in Russia. For solar projects, this figure is currently significantly higher than the planned one, and it corresponds to the planned one for wind projects. In general, therefore, the programme can be considered effective. Conclusions. Further improvements in renewable energy support mechanisms should take into account the need to drastically increase the pace of training in the full cycle of the renewable energy project, including the operation phase of generating equipment and the supply of electricity to the grid.

The fundamentals and best practices of multiple particle tracking microrheology are discussed, including methods for producing video microscopy data, analyzing data to obtain mean-squared displacements and displacement correlations, and, critically, the accuracy and errors (static and dynamic) associated with particle tracking. Applications presented include two-point microrheology, methods for characterizing heterogeneous material rheology, and shell models of local (non-continuum) heterogeneity. Particle tracking has a long history. The earliest descriptions of Brownian motion relied on precise observations, and later quantitative measurements, using light microscopy.

This article analyses how digitisation and screen policy reform altered the production of domestic drama and children’s programmes in Australia. Focusing on dynamics that developed before widespread use of streaming services, it maps the disruptions and evolution that digital ‘multi-channels’ caused and how they challenged audiovisual policy frameworks intended to safeguard local television including drama on advertiser-funded broadcasters. The article reveals how the effects of fragmentation undermined commercial television’s business model and eroded investment in scripted content. Shifting policy priorities also brought new support mechanisms for local programmes and led to adjustments to the ABC’s drama funding practices, with significant effects on the form, content, and cultural visibility of Australian drama. This initial stage of digital disruption – spanning roughly 2001–2014 – is often overlooked but is crucial for appreciating the challenges facing Australian television drama production in the 2020s.

Abstract The localization of multiple wireless agents via, for example, distance and/or bearing measurements is challenging, particularly if relying on beacon-to-agent measurements alone is insufficient to guarantee accurate localization. In these cases, agent-to-agent measurements also need to be considered to improve the localization quality. In the context of particle filtering, the computational complexity of tracking many wireless agents is high when relying on conventional schemes. This is because in such schemes, all agents’ states are estimated simultaneously using a single filter. To overcome this problem, the concept of multiple particle filtering (MPF), in which an individual filter is used for each agent, has been proposed in the literature. However, due to the necessity of considering agent-to-agent measurements, additional effort is required to derive information on each individual filter from the available likelihoods. This is necessary because the distance and bearing measurements naturally depend on the states of two agents, which, in MPF, are estimated by two separate filters. Because the required likelihood cannot be analytically derived in general, an approximation is needed. To this end, this work extends current state-of-the-art likelihood approximation techniques based on Gaussian approximation under the assumption that the number of agents to be tracked is fixed and known. Moreover, a novel likelihood approximation method is proposed that enables efficient and accurate tracking. The simulations show that the proposed method achieves up to 22% higher accuracy with the same computational complexity as that of existing methods. Thus, efficient and accurate tracking of wireless agents is achieved.

In Ecuador, affirmative action policies enable students from vulnerable groups to preferentially enter universities. However, these policies are limited to admission and do not include academic or socio-economic support mechanisms that, according to the literature, promote student insertion in the higher education system. In this study, the effects of socio-academic intervention on the academic performance of vulnerable students are presented. For this, 41 students were selected among 164 vulnerable students entering the Escuela Politécnica Nacional in the second term of 2019. The 41 students attended a socio-academic intervention course for one term, while the remaining 123 attended the Escuela Politécnica Nacional levelling course directly. Once both groups of students finished the levelling course, their performance in each of the course subjects was compared. The results showed that the academic performance of the students in the intervention was significantly higher in mathematics and geometry compared to the students who had no intervention. These results show that the socio-academic intervention promotes the real insertion of vulnerable students in the university system.

The Problem Balancing work and life can be difficult. In a new world of work amidst COVID-19, balancing work and life has become even more challenging. Employees are struggling to adjust their work-life obligations while maintaining performance expectations. Providing employee support to reduce stress and minimize adverse effects on performance outcomes requires employer action. The Solution HRD interventions are recommended as organizational support mechanisms. These interventions are designed to reduce stress produced by work life conflict, particularly during stressful organizational events. Through organizational support, employees are offered the opportunity to increase individual performance. The Stakeholders HRD and HRM professionals, scholars, organizational planners, organizational leaders and managers, and all others who have a vested interest in employee well-being.
