This study aims to investigate the moderating role of corruption on the effect of government R&D expenditure on enterprise innovation in China, using the annually data over the period 2002-2013 in a panel of 30 provinces. A dynamic panel system GMM model was used to explore the relationship among government R&D expenditure, corruption, and innovation. Our finding shows that though government R&D expenditure has no significant effects on patent applications, it does exhibit significantly positive effects on patents granted. However, when considering official corruption, the interaction term of government R&D expenditure and corruption has a statistically significantly positive effect on patent applications and patents granted, with corruption presenting significantly positive effects on the ratio of the number of patents granted to patent applications. It demonstrates that corruption is still a shortcut for overcoming red tapes and administrative intervention, especially in an economy in transition with lower institution quality and anti-corruption.

Improving enterprise innovation performance is key for enterprises to obtain sustainable competitiveness. With the increasingly fierce market competition of technological and product innovation, acquiring external heterogeneous knowledge of alliance enterprises becomes core to improving innovation performance. In this paper, we constructed a theoretical model to present the effect of inter-enterprise knowledge heterogeneity and alliance network governance mechanisms on enterprise innovation performance. We selected high-tech enterprises as the research object for empirical research and reached the following conclusions: (1) Inter-enterprise knowledge heterogeneity has a positive effect on exploratory and exploitative innovation performance, and (2) trust and contract have a moderating effect on the relationship between inter-enterprise knowledge heterogeneity and enterprise innovation performance.

This study investigated the impact of emotional leadership of leaders on organizational commitment of hotel employees, as well as the mediating role of job satisfaction. The results indicate that: (1) Emotional leadership and job satisfaction have positive effects on organizational commitment. (2) Emotional leadership has a positive effect on job satisfaction. (3) Job satisfaction plays a mediating role between emotional leadership and organizational commitment.

It is well documented that self-control has a positive effect on individuals’ subjective well-being. However, little research has focused on the moderators underlying this relationship. The present research used two studies to examine the moderating role of both trait and state motivation on the relationship between self-control and subjective well-being using psychometric and experimental models, respectively. In Study 1, we explored whether trait motivation (including promotion vs. prevention motivation) moderated the relationship between trait self-control and subjective well-being using a psychometric model. In Study 2, we examined the moderating effects of both trait and state motivation on the effect of state self-control (measured via ego depletion) on subjective well-being using an experimental model. Our results indicated that self-control had a positive effect on subjective well-being, with this relationship being primarily moderated by prevention motivation. When state and trait prevention motivations were congruent, self-control had the most obvious impact on subjective well-being. This study suggests that current understandings around the association between self-control and happiness is limited, implying that motivation should be the focus of future research.

Our study aims to analyze the impact of auditor’s work passion on their performances, with meaningfulness of work and person organization fit (PO-fit) as moderating variables.  Auditor, as a profession associated with assurance of compliance with their clients, highly requires good work passion to increase their spirit, avoid them from work saturation and improve their work quality. Therefore, our study expected that work passion positively affect work performance. Furthermore, meaningfulnes work and PO-fit were also expected to have moderating effect on the relationship of work passion on work performance. The results of regression  and moderated regression analysis (MRA) on 87 samples collected from accoutants working in public accountant firm in Java, Indonesia, suggest that work passion has a positive effect on work performance. The result also shows that meaningfulnes was supported as a moderator on the relationship between work passion and work performance. However, our prediction that PO-fit could be a moderator in the effect of work passion on job performance of auditor was not supported.

Social media is currently being used by both large companies and SMEs. For large companies the use of social media has been used successfully in reaching potential consumers. However, for SMEs, the marketing strategy of using social media is still being questioned. The purpose of this study is to fill the gaps in previous research by examining the driving factors for SMEs in using social media in promoting their products and testing how the performance of SMEs after adopting this technology is good both in financial and non-financial aspects that have not been done much research. The results of this study found that the compatible, cost-effective, interactive variables had a positive effect on the use of social media and subsequently had a positive effect on both financial and non-financial performance. However, the moderating role of social media capabilities cannot strengthen the relationship between use and the performance of SMEs. The results of this study are expected to be the basis for evaluating SMEs so that they can use digital media to support their business. The government must also pay attention to this to actively socialize the use of digital media for MSMEs so that the performance of SMEs can increase.

This research aims to put into perspective the impact of exposing a blogger's private life over confidence which concerns the blog and the moderating role of the implication towards the category of the product. The collection of data is conducted among 320 members of the blog "streetstyletunisia," a fashion and beauty blog. The structural equation method based on the AMOS approach has been used to analyze the data. The results show the positive effect of honesty, a dimension of exposing a blogger's privacy over confidence concerning the blog, but disproving the impact of the blogger's intentionality over trust. This research confirms the moderating effect of involvement with the category of fashion and beauty product on the relationship between the perceived exposure of the blogger's private life and trust in the blog. This research can be interesting to marketers, as they need to partner with honest bloggers who reveal their privacy in order to influence amateurs and inspire trust in them and therefore embrace new communication strategies.

Applying the conceptual framework of value-attitude-behavior relationship, this study investigates self-confidence as mediating effect on the relationship between perceived educational support  on entrepreneur intention.  Using  linier  regression  analysis,  we investigate the  role  of  self- confidence, perceived educational support on entrepreneur intention. In this paper, we used 160 students of economic faculty at Bung Hatta University. These results suggest that perceived educational support and self-confidence have positive effects on entrepreneur intention, and perceived educational support has positive effect on entrepreneur intention. This result shows self-confidence play an important role as a mediating variable on the relationship between perceived educational support on entrepreneur intention.

This study examines the influence of influencers' credibility on purchase intention on Instagram. The framework in this study includes attractiveness and trustworthiness as an indicator of influencer credibility and independent variables, number of followers as moderator, and purchase intention as dependent variable. Respondents in this study were 200 Instagram users in Indonesia who had done via Instagram. The results show that attractiveness and trust have a positive effect on purchase intention. And, the number of followers moderates the relationship between attractiveness to purchase intention and trustworthiness to purchase intention. In addition, the results of this study also prove that the number of followers has a direct influence on purchase intention. This study contributes to the product endorsement literature, how an influencer can increase the purchase intention of a consumer on Instagram social media.

Purpose This study aims to examine the effect of knowledge management on firm innovative performance and the moderating effect of transformational leadership in the relationship between knowledge management and firm innovative performance. Design/methodology/approach In total, 200 managers of participating Malaysian public listed service companies responded to a self-report set of the survey questionnaire. Partial least squares-structural equation modelling technique is used to estimate the main effects of knowledge management, particularly its infrastructures and processes, on firm innovative performance and the moderating effects of transformational leadership on the relationship. Findings Knowledge management infrastructures and knowledge management processes both have statistically significant and positive effects on firm innovative performance. In addition, transformational leadership significantly and negatively moderates the relationships. Practical implications The findings of this study can be a reference for the Malaysian public listed service companies to understand how and why managing well knowledge management infrastructures and processes can improve firm innovative performance. Moreover, this study highlights the role of transformational leaders in the context of knowledge management. Originality/value This study brings about managerial viewpoints of the relationship between knowledge management and firm innovative performance, with the moderating role of transformational leadership.

The innovation-performance literature has failed to make a distinction between the effects of incremental and disruptive innovation on multinational enterprise (MNE) performance. The understanding of the role of foreignness has overemphasized the negative side. From the institutional anomie theory perspective, this study investigates how foreignness, which consists of national culture, industrial competition, and innovative national capacity, affects the relationship between disruptive innovation and MNE performance. We illustrate the distinctiveness between incremental and disruptive innovation and then build a conceptual model to show the moderating role of foreignness on the innovation-performance link. The model suggests that foreignness provides contextual conditions under which the relationship between disruptive innovation and MNE performance is either strengthened or impeded. Also, firm-level cultural intelligence (CQ) can help MNEs to overcome the negative effects of foreignness, as well as enhance its positive effects. Propositions are discussed for further research.
