The background of this research is that the emergence of the revitalization of education become the talk very interesting and crucial entered the times of the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) recently. Seeing the condition of a nation that increasingly worse with a variety of educational failure phenomena occurring generation of people. At the regional level (ASEAN), Arabic is the language of the second alternative communication after the Malay language. Since Arabic is the language of the religious culture of the Islamic community of Malay and Arabic language turns more dominant than in English. This is because the majority of the people of ASEAN are Muslims who think that the Arabic language is flexible, open and elastic in answering the challenges of globalization and cultural transformation. State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung is one of the universities which have policies, matakuliah, environment and curriculum that supports the education of Arabic-based life skill education in the ASEAN Economic Community mengahadapi (MEA). The method used in this research are : the type of research is qualitative descriptive. Methods of data collection are observation, interview, documentation. Methods of data analysis are reduction, data display and then drawing conclusions / verification. The results of this research are : 1) the revitalization of the Arabic language education based life skills education at State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung in the ASEAN Economic Community (MEA) is conducted by: a) To formulate vision and mission that suppor Competence Life Skills Arabic, b) Develop curriculum a greater emphasis on deepening the Arabic language skills competence, c) Establishing Bi'ah Lughawiyah Arabic language in Campus and Ma'had, d) Create a special program of learning the Arabic language, e) Mastery learning strategies and Arabic language skills, f) Lecturer Professional and have optimum competence, g) Provide additional extra-based Life Skills, and h) To sharpen the practical and Delivers Native speakers. 2) The implications of life skill education to the Arabic language education at State Islamic Institute (IAIN) Tulungagung for facing the ASEAN Economic Community, the following: a) Linking the use of language in context, b) Lecturer more frequent use of the media, c) Institutions must make improvements in particular, d) Optimization Arabic Education management, and e) Overcoming the obstacles faced.

Major advances have been made in research on language learning strategies (LLS) since it was triggered by good language learner studies (e.g. Rubin, 1975). Numerous accounts of strategy use have been compiled, key classifications have been proposed, some progress has been made towards furthering our understanding of the complex relationship between LLS use and attainment, an array of factors impacting strategy use has been investigated, some evidence has been gathered for the beneficial role of strategies-based instruction, and new data collection tools have been developed (see e.g. Cohen, 2011; Cohen & Griffiths, 2015; Cohen & Macaro, 2007; Griffiths, 2018, 2019; Griffiths & Oxford, 2014; Oxford, 2017; Oxford & Amerstorfer, 2018; Pawlak, 2011; Pawlak & Oxford, 2018). While acute problems related to the definition of LLS, their characteristics, their separation from regular learning activities or their actual utility have surely not disappeared, some promising solutions have been proposed (Griffiths, 2018; Oxford, 2017) and calls to abandon the concept have been countered (Dörnyei, 2005). This said, a question arises as to what can be done to move the field forward. Following a brief overview of existing research, the article tackles this issue with respect to the following areas: (1) foci of future research, (2) methodological choices, and (3) consideration of how research findings can inform pedagogy.

Social Café Meals Programs aim to reduce food insecurity and social exclusion by providing participants access to subsidised meals in mainstream local cafés. This study aimed to explore the program’s ability to address social exclusion and food insecurity and the impact of the program on the community. A qualitative evaluation approach was utilised whereby in-depth interviews were conducted with café owners, café staff and current program members of two Social Café Meals Programs operating in the south-eastern suburbs of Melbourne. Twelve program members and six café staff completed an in-depth interview at the local cafés. Data were analysed using a thematic analysis approach focusing on the lived experience of the café owners, staff and program members. Four key themes were identified. The program (i) improved food access for vulnerable groups and (ii) created community cohesiveness. (iii) The café environment was important in facilitating program use by community members. (iv) Café owners felt rewarded for their community contribution via the program. Social Café Meals Programs may provide a solution to improving food security and reducing social exclusion and may be considered as a strategy for improving nutrition and social health for at-risk and vulnerable groups.

This paper discusses a work in progress in the development of computer tools for qualitative modeling analysis and evaluation of conceptual structural designs. In the conceptual design stage the description of a structure is incomplete and imprecise, and does not permit the use of traditional numerical analysis tools. We describe a prototype system, QLRS, for qualitative evaluation of lateral load resistance in frames. The primary goal of the evaluation of structural response is to identify undesirable structural behavior. In QLRS, the evaluation process consists of three basic tasks. (1) identification of the story and structure models comprising the lateral load resisting system. We term this task structural system interpretation. (2) Qualitative analysis of the story and structure models, and approximate evaluation of the story drifts. We term this task structural behavior interpretation. (3) Assessment of the performance of the lateral load resisting system, in which the results of the structural system interpretation and the structural behavior interpretation are compared against the requirements for complete load path and relative story drift. Currently, QLRS is able to reason about load path discontinuities and soft-story behavior problems in 2-D moment resisting frames.
