In 2017, the government announced the course of study guidelines. It showed the necessary qualification and ability for junior high school students and guidance on junior high school technology education. Because new content is included there, training of incoming teachers at junior high school is required. This paper proposes a training curriculum on measurement and control of junior high school technology. This training was practiced for junior high school teachers in Ehime. These members showed high evaluation. This training will enhance educational practice for junior high school students.

Japan’s national education policy puts importance on children learning to program. In fact, course guidelines published by the government in 2008 made the programming of the measurement and control compulsory in junior high schools, and learning programming will be made compulsory in elementary schools in 2020. This research studies robotics classes for elementary and junior high school students. The tasks set for the robots used in each class are familiar to children, and they were set with the aim of inspiring a proactive learning attitude in the children. The objective of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of robots in teaching programming to children.

The research is an inventory aimed at identifying and categorizing the character values in the English package books for students of Islamic Junior High School or Madrasah Tsanawiyah by considering their relevance to Islamic character values in the Quran and Hadits. The method used was content analysis following Bogdan and Biklen model by analyzing, grouping, sorting, and synthesizing the values taken from the package books to draw the patterns.  The patterns were discussed to conclude the final findings to be disseminated as the list of inventory.  The main data source was the English package books published by the government and the supporting data were the Core Competencies taken from Curriculum 2013 for Junior High School (SMP) and Madrasah Tsanawiyah (MTs) or Islamic Junior High School students. There are 10 values inserted in the package books that are relevant to the Islamic religious characters. The result showed various English expressions relevant to Islamic character values which have a long-term and sustainable effect as a reference for character building by English teachers in developing English supplementary materials for Islamic Junior High School students.

This study aims to determine the improvement of mathematical communication skills of junior high school students from the influence of contextual approach. This research takes the form of a posttest pretest design that compares the influence of a contextual approach with a conventional approach. This study has a population that is all students of SMP class VII in Cianjur District while the sample is a student of class VII SMP Plus Al-Ittihad Cianjur. The samples were taken at random into experimental groups and control groups. Based on the data in the field, it can be concluded that the effect of improving mathematical communication ability of junior high school students who gain learning using contextual approach is better than conventional learning. Therefore, the effect of improving learning with contextual approach is much better while conventional learning is still very less.

Background: Traffic accidents are the main cause of death for adolescents aged 16-19 years. Teenagers in junior high school age are very vulnerable to traffic accidents. The importance of giving safety riding health education to junior high school students is to prepare them in the active phase of riding in an effort to prevent traffic accidents.Objective: To determine the effect of health education about safety riding using audiovisual on the knowledge, attitudes and subjective norms of VII grade students of the Junior High School of 32 Samarinda, Indonesia.Methods: This research employed a quasi-experimental with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest design, with a sample of 40 students in each intervention and control group selected using purposive sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Mann-Whitney test and Independent t-test.Results: There were significant differences in knowledge, attitudes, and subjective norms between the intervention and control groups (p-value = 0.000).Conclusion: The use of audiovisual is effective to provide health education about safety riding on the level of knowledge, attitudes, and subjective norms among junior high school students.

ABSTRACT The development of adolescence is always looking for new things and identity, this will make the youth begin to understand themselves when they have the ability to regulate and control their emotions and will adversely affect if they are not able to multiply their emotions. This study aims to know the characteristics of junior high school students in emotional control in Malang. This type of research is descriptive analytics. The respondents of the study were students at SMP Shalahuddin Malang, obtained a population of 65 respondents and a sample of 56 respondents taken with simple random sampling techniques. The data was collected using questionnaires. The results of the analysis are univariate and presented by frequency distribution. The results showed that of the 28 young men at Shalahuddin Junior High School in Malang, most had emotional control in the moderate category (71.43%) and that of the 28 young women at Smp Shalahuddin Malang most had emotional control in the high category (64.29%). In educational institutions, there needs to be knowledge about the characteristics of junior high school students in controlling emotions in Malang so that they know how to cope with students who cannot control emotions properly. Keywords : Student Characteristics, and Emotional Control ABSTRAK Masa perkembangan remaja selalu mencari hal yang baru dan identitas dirinya, hal ini akan membuat remaja mulai memahami dirinya ketika memiliki kemampuan dalam mengatur dan mengendalikan  emosinya dan akan berdampak buruk bila tidak  mampu  mengalikan  emosinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui gambaran karakteristik siswa SMP dalam mengontrol emosional di Kota Malang. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif analitik. Responden penelitian adalah siswa di SMP Shalahuddin Kota Malang, didapatkan populasi sebanyak 65 responden dan sampel sebanyak 56 responden yang diambil dengan teknik pengambilan simple random sampling. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan kuesioner. Hasil analisis secara univariat dan disajikan secara distribusi frekuensi. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa dari 28 remaja putra di SMP Shalahuddin Kota Malang sebagian besar memiliki kontrol emosi pada kategori sedang (71,43%) dan bahwa dari 28 remaja putri di SMP Shalahuddin  Kota  Malang  sebagian  besar  memiliki  kontrol  emosi  pada  kategori tinggi (64,29%). Pada instansi pendidikan perlu adanya pengetahuan tentang karakteristik siswa SMP dalam mengontrol emosional di Kota Malang sehingga mengetahui cara mengatasi siswa yang tidak bisa mengontrol emosi secara baik. Kata kunci : Karakteristik siswa, dan Mengontrol emosional
