<p>There has been refurbished interest in food security related issues in many developing countries of the world. In fact, the concern about the eradication of poverty and hunger form a major objective of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Yet poverty and hunger still persist due to food shortage and insecurity as a result of increased global food demand, diminishing global food reserves, erratic climatic condition, and increased cost of transportation among others. Before now, various agricultural policies measures have been formulated to curb food security challenges in Nigeria. Unfortunately, these policies have not produced the desired results of the increase in food production. This study examined the factors impeding food security in Akutupa-Kiri, Nigeria. A structured and self-administered questionnaire using systematic sampling technique was used to collect data from a total of 194 (one hundred and ninety-four) household heads farmers representing 2% of the entire population in the study area. The data were presented using descriptive statistics in the form of frequency and percentages. Weighted means were used to determine the predominant factors impeding food security in the study area. Findings revealed that poverty (M.W=5.00), poor road transportation (M.W=5.00), inadequate social amenities (M.W=5.00) and lack of government support and assistance (M.W=5.00) were the most significant factors impeding food security in Akutupa-Kiri. The study recommends that there is a need for improvement in sustainable food security in the study area and Nigeria at large through the provision of adequate road transportation. Effort should be made by the government to render substantial support to the peasant farmers and as well ensure that agricultural policies formulation target these peasants farmers and their rural environments for the purpose of sustainable food security in the nation.</p>

Needs realization of the food estate concept partially in strengthening food security in the agricultural sector cannot be done by the government and society, but also involves corporations. One form of corporate involvement in this research is a program from BNI in the form of farmer cards. The farmer card program is expected to provide efficiency for farmers so that they can receive the distribution of government support in the right amount, the right type, the right time, the right place, the right quality and the right price. This study aims to measure the implementation of the BNI farmer card implementation to provide a pattern of relationship to the potential development of the food estate concept in Pulang Pisau. implementation of BNI farmer cards in the Pulang Pisau community through indicators of understanding and compliance (X1), behavior and culture (X2), economic conditions (X3), policy issues (X4), facilities and infrastructure (X5), and stakeholder support (X6) for Realization food estate concept. The research design was carried out in a cross-sectional manner using a quantitative approach through smart PLS. The results show the value of the six factors measured through the implementation of the BNI farmer card, which later on this value will become a basis for sustainability and policy adjustments in the realization of food estate in the region itself through government, community and corporate cooperation in realizing food security against global food crisis.

Relevance. Grain is the key to strategic products to ensure food security. From this point of view, the creation of large grain farms is a matter for the country's selfsufficiency and it leading to a decrease in financial expense for import. Creation of such farms creates an abundance of productivity from the area and leads to obtaining increased reproductive seeds. The main policy of the government is to minimize dependency from import, create abundance of food and create favorable conditions for export potential.The purpose of the study: the development of grain production in order to ensure food security of the country and strengthen government support for this industry.Methods: comparative analysis, systems approach.Results. As shown in the research, if we pay attention to the activities of private entrepreneurship in the country, we can see result of the implementation of agrarian reforms after which various types of farms have been created in republic.The role of privateentrepreneurshipinthedevelopmentofproduction is great. Тhe article outlines the sowing area, production, productivity, import, export of grain and the level of selfsufficiency in this country from 2015 till 2017.

Food system transformation has been a widely discussed topic in international society over time. For the last few decades, China has made remarkable achievements in food production and has contributed greatly to the reduction in global hunger and poverty. Examining experiences and lessons from China’s food security practices over the years is helpful to promote a national food system transformation for China, as well as other developing countries. This study systematically reviews the literature on Chinese food security studies, with the aim of assessing China’s food security achievements and examining the remaining and emerging issues in the pursuit of food system transformation. The results show that China has continuously promoted food system transformation in land consolidation, agri-food production technologies, management and organization modes, food reserves, trade governance, and food consumption. These transformations ensure not only food availability, timeliness, and nutrition, but also in terms of the ecological, social, and economic sustainability, feasibility, and justice of food security. However, China is also confronting new challenges in food security, for example, malnutrition, environmental unsustainability, and reductions in diversified agri-food. In the future, China is expected to be committed to promoting healthy diets, sustainable agricultural production, climate change mitigation, and the reduction of food waste and loss to enhance its agri-food system’s resilience.

<span>Potential</span><span lang="EN-US"> food resources can be utilized through food diversification as a part of the government's efforts to minimize socio-economic inequality with sustainable food security development program. The purpose of this study was to observe the role of food diversification in reducing social inequality through sustainable food security development. This study uses descriptive qualitative methods with secondary data collection techniques which include data references as well as documentation related to food security development. The results showed that in Indonesia, food diversification program has an impact on increasing income, household resilience and welfare with a decrease in the number of the rural poor population of 4.7% (from 16.31 people to 15.54 people). It was positively correlated with the increase in farmers' income by (IDR) 30.37 million per capita increase (4.47%). Then, followed by the level of food security in the district area reached 80.53% (335 regions) and for urban areas amounted to 92.85% (91 regions). National food security can be achieved through maximizing the potential use of food resources at the regional level, by diversifying food based on local wisdom and optimally local resources. It can be concluded that food diversification is a policy that can be used by the government to increase community economic income and reduce poverty and social inequality.</span>

Food security is a major issue and constant challenge in the developingworld. Morocco has reached the target of the first MDG and, since 1990-1992, hasmaintained the prevalence of undernourishment level of 5%, but it remainsvulnerable to climate change in case of recurrence of drought and external shocks.Researches on food security in Morocco and its relationship with sustainabledevelopment are not been sufficiently developed in the direction ofproposing models of sustainable food security strategies. Then, this study aims toclarify the relationship between food security and sustainable food chain and topropose a roadmap for food security in Morocco, learnt from the visit study toSingapore as a leading country in food security. According to GFSI (Global FoodSecurity Index) of the Economist Intelligence unit, Singapore is ranked second inthe world after United States in 2015. Results outline the issues and challenges offood security at both global and national levels and highlight the strengths andweaknesses of food security in Morocco via the analysis of the Moroccan’s foodsecurity balance through the GFSI (Global Food Security Index) of the EconomistIntelligence Unit. Finally, this study proposes a roadmap to ensure sustainable foodsecurity in Morocco focused on two strategic pillars: governance andorganizational pillar and technical and financial support pillar. The first pillarconcerns the establishment of a national authority in charge of coordination andimplementation of food security strategies. The second pillar includes a set ofrecommendations related to technical and financial support aspects as optimizingstorage foods, increasing agricultural productivity via agro-ecologicalintensification and sensitizing farmers in adoption of sustainable agricultureprinciples.

<p><strong>English</strong><br />Food reserve is essential in stabilizing domestic food supplies. According to the Law No. 18/2012 on Food, national food reserve system should meet two principles, namely: (1) the reserve should be mainly built upon the national food production, and (2) the reserve is a multi-layer reserve system. Since there are diversified local food sources, the national food reserve system can be functioned as sources of diversified food supplies for the society. Indonesia needs to build a robust and resilience national food reserve due to increases in threat of global food crisis, volatility of global food supplies and prices, risks of natural disasters, and relatively large numbers of food insecure people. Indonesia adopts the stock based on the utilization ratio method in determining the Government Rice Reserve. It is advisable to harmonize quantities and kinds of food reserves managed by Central Government, Local Governments, private sector, and community.</p><p> </p><p><strong>Indonesian</strong><br />Cadangan pangan merupakan sumber pangan penting untuk menjaga stabilitas pasokan pangan pada saat di luar musim panen dan di daerah defisit pangan. Menurut Undang Undang No 18/2012 Tentang Pangan, ada dua prinsip dalam pembentukan cadangan pangan nasional yang harus dipenuhi, yaitu: (1) bahwa cadangan pangan diutamakan bersumber dari produksi dalam negeri, dan (2) bahwa cadangan pangan nasional merupakan suatu sistem cadangan berlapis. Karena ketersediaan sumber pangan lokal yang beragam, maka cadangan pangan nasional dapat menjadi sumber bagi penyediaan pangan yang beragam bagi masyarakat. Kebutuhan akan cadangan pangan nasional yang kokoh dan mandiri semakin meningkat, karena meningkatnya ancaman krisis pangan global, meningkatnya gejolak pasokan dan harga pangan dunia, meningkatnya ancaman bencana alam, serta masih banyaknya jumlah penduduk miskin dan rawan pangan di Indonesia. Pemeritah Indonesia menentukan jumlah cadangan pangannya berdasarkan rasio antara stok dengan konsumsi pangan yang disesuaikan dengan ketersediaan dana Pemerintah. Untuk mengelola cadangan pangan nasional yang efektif dan efisien, perlu harmonisasi jumlah dan jenis cadangan pangan Pemerintah, Pemerintah Daerah,  swasta dan masyarakat.</p>

The study assessed expenditure on food among urban households in Benue State of Nigeria. This was done with the view to assess household food expenditure and its implications for food security status of the households; identify and assess determinants that influence household food demand; and analyze the determinants of food security of household urban population. The selection of the sample for the study involved a three-stage sampling technique. Data was collected from 150 households through a structured questionnaire. Descriptive statistics, food security index, multiple linear regression and logit regression were employed to analyze data. The results indicated a mean household expenditure on food that stands at N21,748.00 40.3 USD) per month. Based on the food security index the households that spent at least N14, 498.67 (93.5 USD) on food per month were categorized as food secure and those who spent below this value were categorized as food insecure. Furthermore, 67.3% of the households were food secure, while 32.7% were food insecure. The study revealed that size of household, income of the household head and price of food comodities were identified as major factors influencing household food demand decisions in the study area. Moreover, size of the household and income of the household head were the main determinants of food demand in the study area (F = 19.78; p ≤ 0.05) just as age and income of household head as well as household size influence the probability that a household will be food secure(χ2 = 13.77; p > 0.05). The study recommends that household heads should be educated on the need to control family size and to be self-empowered without necessarily depending on government as a way of enhancing their income to improve the household and economic conditions. The government should strengthen its policy on grain reserves in order to control food prices during scarcity and subsidize farm i nputs and availability to boost food production and thus lower food prices.

Food is a basic requirement for living things. This study aims to analyze the effects of economic infrastructure, social infrastructure and household characteristics on food security in Indonesia using the Johnsson and Toole (1991) methods. There were 285,908 households studied originating from the 2015 SUSENAS data. The model used in this study was the general ordered logistics model. Based on the results of the study there were 29.51% of food security, 25.12% of vulnerable food, 23.14% of food shortages and 22.33% of households at food insecurity. The results of this study also revealed that ownership of transportation modes, electricity use, fuel use, education of household heads and household health insurance significantly affected food security. The government program in the form of giving poor rice (RASKIN) provides poor results reducing the chance offood security by 11% and increasing the chances of food insecurity by 6%.

Sustainable Food Agricultural Land Protection is a system and process in planning, developing, utilizing, controlling, and monitoring agricultural land that is determined to be consistently protected in order to produce staple food for national food security. Currently, food agriculture land in Karawang Regency is increasingly under threat along with the rapid development of the industrial sector in the area and threats from the surrounding area. Not only because of the conversion into industrial land, but the existence of factories around it also threatens soil fertility and water quality due to the factory waste itself. The focus in this paper is how the Karawang Regency Government carries out Collaborative Governance in protecting sustainable food agricultural land. In this study, the authors used a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach. The purpose of this research is to explain how to study and analyze the implementation of policies on the protection of sustainable agricultural land with one of the stages of collaborative governance from Ansell and Gash, namely share understanding. The results showed that the Government of Karawang Regency has succeeded in conducting share understanding in collaborative governance well because it has the same goal, namely to create national food security. Openness and interdependence with each other fosters a sense of understanding. However, the community's understanding regarding PLP2B is felt to be lacking because they have not received good socialization from the Karawang Regency Government.
