Abstract In the area of carbonate or karst Dinarides, besides the dominant carbonate rocks and subordinate clastics, in more places more significant mass of chemical sediments can be found, represented by gypsum and anhydrite. As chemical sediments are specifically lighter than overlying rocks, they have been, during the long geological history, trying to achieve isostatic equilibrium, or get out on the ground surface. In recent times, in areas with chemical sediments, a larger tectonic activity is noted than in the wider environment. This is certainly reflected in increased vertical and tangential displacements along major faults in relation to the surrounding area, which are built mainly of carbonate deposits. Determining the amount of movement of diapiric bodies, as absolute and relative, using the most modern surveying methods, precisely would assist the understanding of the tectonic movements and recent structural relations in a wider area

The work is devoted to the substantiation of new geophysical technology for mapping the Bazhenovskaya Formation based on an impulsive electromagnetic sounding from wells. Theoretically shown the possibility of its application to study the formation from highly inclined and subhorizontal wells drilled in the Upper and Middle Jurassic formations. Numerical modeling of the signals in realistic geoelectric models of the Bazhenov Formation with real well trajectories is carried out on the example of the East Surgut field. The calculations have established that the determination of spatial locations of the top and bottom of the beds is possible when using different-length sondes. Zones of high sensitivity of the full magnetic field matrix to the boundaries with a sufficient signal level at considerable distance, even with a small sonde length, are determined. It is theoretically established that pulsed sounding of the Bazhenov Formation from the Upper and Middle Jurassic reservoirs is feasible for both mapping the boundaries of the formation and tracing its lateral variability.

In this paper, a procedure to determine the optimal location of a distribution warehouse, from which products are sent out to a group of companies has been studied. The goal was to minimize annual transportation distance between the warehouse and the customers. Fundamentals of mathematics have been used to formulate a virtual map showing the location of the present customers. Mathematical models and equations were developed making certain assumptions and an optimal location for the warehouse has been determined. Various factors that are involved in relocating the warehouse have been considered. Also a solution is given for the optimal location of a satellite or an auxiliary warehouse in addition to the existing one. A case study has been conducted on the model with the help of various numerical examples. Based on the optimal location of the relocated warehouse and the satellite warehouse obtained, the reductions in the transport costs were estimated. Once the optimal warehouse location has been found out, the next step was to find out an optimal route (least travel distance) for a practical case in which several companies have to be supplied with necessary products from one warehouse in a single trip. For this purpose, mathematical models were created and optimal routing algorithms were developed. Case studies have been conducted with the help of numerical examples. High amounts of savings in terms of travel distances, costs and time could be observed by the implementation of these algorithms.
