In a previous paper, we showed that Earth-type habitable planets around 47 UMa are in principle possible if a distinct set of conditions is warranted. These conditions include that the Earth-type planets have successfully formed and are orbitally stable and, in addition, that the 47 UMa star–planet system is relatively young ([lsim ]6 Gyr). We now extend this study by considering Earth-like planets with different land/ocean coverages. This study is again based on the so-called integrated system approach, which describes the photosynthetic biomass production taking into account a variety of climatological, biogeochemical and geodynamical processes. This approach implies a special characterization of the habitable zone defined for a distinct type of planet. We show that the likelihood of finding a habitable Earth-like planet on a stable orbit around 47 UMa critically depends on the percentage of the planetary land/ocean coverage. The likelihood is significantly increased for planets with a very high percentage of ocean surface (‘water worlds’).

This article is aimed at theoretical comprehension of foreign and domestic experience in designing and implementing education for sustainable development and creating a technological model of advanced education in a technical university in the interests of sustainable development. Constructing a technological model that includes an integrated system of pedagogical technologies aimed at the formation of personal achievements and opportunities. Each student constructs and reconstructs their own capabilities based on reflection, which can act as a universal goal of using the models of anticipatory learning technologies, being also the result of anticipatory education. The analysis shows that the transition to sustainable development starts with forming a strategy implemented in education for sustainable development. The study considers the basics of the modern vision of sustainable development: the environmental component and education model. Moreover, the education model is considered from the perspective of the future as a forwardlooking education. The paper uses methods of analysis of philosophical, psychological, and pedagogical research and synthesis of theoretical ideas on the problem of conceptualization, design, and modeling, which allowed highlighting the main trends of scientific search in the world and domestic theory and practice of advanced education in terms of its sustainable development. The concept of sustainable development is considered from different positions of domestic and foreign researchers. Experience of education for sustainable development implementation both in Russia and other countries of the world shows that so far, sustainable development in education is represented in the environmental sense; therefore modeling of system concept of education for sustainable development and optimal ways of its implementation is actualized.

Abstract: The unitary concept of producing crop is gradually changing to integrated system, with a view to integrate different farming components viz. fishery, live stock, horticulture to produce fish, eggs, meat and vegetables from the same farm. The major benefit of integrated system is utilization of resources effectively and recycling of waste within the farm and thus, ultimately maintaining ecological balance. Meghalaya a state located in the North Eastern India, characterized by hills and plateaus interspersed with valley lands in the foot hills. People of Meghalaya are predominantly dependent on agriculture and allied sector. Fish a very valuable source of protein, comprise an important part of the diet of local tribal people. As local wild fish supplies from natural water bodies diminishing and relatively limited aquaculture, fish production in the state is insufficient to satisfy the present demand of fish in Meghalaya. The present fish production in the state is 4.77 thousand tonnes against the demand estimated 30 thousand tonnes per annum. Massive demand of the fish is providing a market opportunity for fish producers in the state. The present study categorized integrated aquaculture as an important and promising enterprise for rural farming households of Meghalaya to maximize their farm income, providing nutritional security and as a whole to achieve sustainable development in the rural sector. This chapter assesses the potential of rural tourism in Russia, addresses such threats to sustainable rural development as unemployment and depopulation, and substantiates the practicality of diversification of traditional rural sources of income by means of tourism and other alternative activities. The system approach is utilized, which envisages systematization and stocktaking of various aspects of sustainable development: available resources, economic conditions of agricultural production, market capacity and demand for agricultural commodities and food, employment and social issues, environmental conditions, and alternative sources of income for rural inhabitants.

Environmental education (EE) has become the only tool for environmental sustainability in training processes in Colombia, for basic cycles in primary and secondary, as well as university education. EE tends to transform human actions in nature, based on multidisciplinary knowledge that supports decision-making. Its goal is to generate a change in social behavior in order to achieve the recovery, conservation, and preservation of the environment. In Colombia, education for sustainable development (ESD) is embedded in EE. These educational models (EE and ESD) seek to achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs), which generally seek the economic and social well-being of nations, both for current and future generations. Environmental engineering is a relatively new degree course in Colombia and Latin America since it appeared in the mid-nineties, and it must involve EE within its curriculum. Students are trained in this trend. This research intends to demonstrate, through a curricular review of the environmental engineering curricula and also surveying students from this degree, the level of inclusion of EE in Latin America. Strengths are identified in the curricula, such as the strong presence of EE in disciplinary subjects and opportunities for improvement based on the needs of the students. The situation in South America is also included in this study.
